Good morning,
the party was fun last night.. so so much food, and one gal baked a cheese cake and a red velvet cake and put the cheese cake in between the two layers of red velvet cake. she topped it all off with cream cheese frosting..so so rich but if you had a really thin piece you'd only gain a zillion pounds..
Vinae and I have been talking about next years swaps.. we have a few in mind. if you all have any ideas let me know...
we did most all of our shopping on the internet... free shipping and no crowds... it was bliss...I only had to go to the mall a couple of times for misc things... I will internet shop next year as much as I can.
Jerry wants to get started on his baking.. little fruit cakes, cookies and pies... Richard has requested an apple pie... not sure what else he will make.
hope you all have a wonderful day
Chriss

Good morning,,,,it is pouring rain for the second straight day....north of us it is ice so I feel blessed we have good weather,,,,the snow is fading fast,,,and the mud is showing its ugly head....but rain is good for us.
It is nice to be done with the holiday hustle....I have all the gifts arounf the tree and it does look festive. Now it is cleaning up a bit running the sweeper and making sure all the dust bunnies are tucked in behind the decorstions. 2 bathrooms to clean and fresh holiday towels to hang,,,I might work on my BOM top today as the sewing room got picked up yesterday...We shall see what the big guy wants to do....Haven't seen the kiddos in a couple of days,,,,so maybe a run over there for a few minutes,
Ken has been spending a lot of time in his shop....I am wondering if I am getting something for Christmas from there,,???? well I won't peek////I love suprises....but he usually doesn't stay out there for hours unless he is on a deadline of some sort...we shall see.....He did get Sophia's doll closet done it is all oak and chestnut...I was going to buy her one and it was so cheap that Ken said no...Now this is an heirloom piece of miniature futniture, We figure since my nieces gave her all of their old American Girl dolls and DD did their hair and redressed them in original clothing Ken would build her a wardrobe to keep their things together,,,it is gorgeous...I will try to get a photo of it,,,it is very beautiful.. He is very talented....of course he has a honey do list from me...one is a cabinet with glass sides that holds quilts...the other is a new frame for Annebelle,,,both are coming this year he has promised....
Well I must get started here....Love and prayers to all....XXXOOO
PS got the photos of the cabinet posted

I am feeling pretty good still very sore from the Liver biopsy on Friday it kinda messed up my stomach too. Be glad when all the testing is done an e know what we are dealing with.
Both family Christmas parties were going to got cancelled so we are just staying home keeping warm. I am thinking about new /old projects I hope to get started on soon.
I think I finally figured out how to send & take pictures with my new phone so will be taking pictures of my wonderful box I received from Lois sharing them with all of you, Chriss will be putting them on QIAD as I haven't perfected that yet.
Have a great day!

Good Morning Girls
There's a flurry of snow flakes out my window this morning! SO glad I went out yesterday and did my shopping. Ran to Joann for more minke, Target for Groceries, liquor store for some wine for gifts. Came home, cut the minke, sewed a few, made a batch of cookies for exchange at work tomorrow, wrapped some gifts, took my nap, sewed some more. Today it will be more of the same, with a little laundry thrown in.
Teresa... so glad you had such a fun time with the kids home. Don't you wish you could bottle up all that laughter and fun in a jar and take it out later! Sorry Courtney got sick, flying is not fun when you're sick! I did spot the January Lotto already! I have the perfect fabric for it--might do some practice ones today! How easy are they!
All best wishes for that new baby!! Boy or Girl? Do we know yet?
Judi... .Ken's activities in his work shop remind me of my Dad. He was always building something in his shop too. I have a quilt rack her made me, a cute little cabinet and shelves. He'd make each of the grand kids a little stool with their names carved in it. Wonder what you're surprise will be and will it fit under the Christmas tree?
Chriss... Red Velvet cake with cream cheese? I can just feel the inches added to my hips! You're so lucky to have guy that cooks and BAKES!
Becca... Such sad news for your DH's cousin... 50 is young! Prayers for her family!
Jules.. WOWSERS!!! I just looked at your new machine! What fun that will be!! Meant to tell you to I LOVE your Puppet Theatre! SO darn cute and gives me a great idea for my DGK's for NEXT year!
Tess... Christmas shopping for my Grand kids gets harder every year. They don't want clothes, and they already have all the toys they can possibly use.
Dolores.... I love the GOTCHIEs idea! I'm going to write than down so I can remember it next year. Kids can always use socks and skivvies! How sneaky are you... getting a push up bra---at least you didn't go to Victoria Secret! You could always decorate it with beads and sequins or a little extra lace here and there!
Suzette... EVERY year I say I am going to start early!! Never happens. For some reason it's so hard to think "Christmas" in June! Cranberry bread is on my list for today.. though I think I'm going to try making it with Craisins and see how that works... will be easier than chopping up cranberries.!
Maryz... don't worry about cleaning the house until company is gone.. it's just going to get messy again anyway. Enjoy the company!
Vicky... Hope your DH's migraine passes quickly! I do try to look UP every day... if I look down I see how dirty the floor is!
ScrappyPat...So you are one of the areas of the US that is getting lots of snow. Please keep it down there! I want the roads to stay nice and dry up here so I can get to work. Yeah for figuring out your phone!
Well girls, I think I'm going to get a move on here, need to clean up the dining room table, strip my bed and wash sheets then go down and sew up another 15 or 20 scarves. Luckily Joann had the minke on sale for 1/2 off yesterday!
Turns out I am going to have my kids for Christmas Day Dinner after all. There was a bit of confusion about when the kids were going to their Dad's, but I think they got it all figured out. So I get them Christmas day. Instead of Turkey dinner, I'm making stuffed Manicotti with French bread.
Wishing you all a most wonderful day!

Im going to clean my bathroom today and do some dusting and my DH will help me tomorrow no pressure .
Just a thought is anyone signing up for EL's 2014 class?
I Hope Everyone Has A Great Day.
Prayers go out to all in need.
Lois

Re: Sunday, December 23, 2013
Good morning all.
Looks to be another dreary day here in the Great PNW. DH just left to take DGS home so he can go to church with his daddy.
He was just a little upset as he thought he would get to stay the whole weekend. I told him last night that he needed to get to bed because he had to get up early for church. He assured me that he didn't because church was "cancelled" this week because of Christmas! LOL I told him that I was quite sure that they did not cancel church because of Christmas. I also said that we must have failed at teaching him what the "reason for the season" was...he looked at me and said "Gramma, I know what Christmas is all about....it is celebrating Jesus' birthday". I told him that was why I was sure they did not cancel church! Apparently, some activities had been cancelled and he thought that meant everything. It was too funny.
My oldest DS, who live in Austin, called yesterday. He was on his way to the ER. He was sick when he was here for Thanksgiving, and apparently is still sick...coughing, etc. He said he was coughing so hard that he passed out. They ended up admitting him, at least for overnight....haven't heard anything, yet, this morning. They ruled out some things but are still running tests. Seems that there has been an outbreak of the H1N1 'flu in that area recently. These people have tested negative for 'flu, but further tests revealed the H1N1. He tested negative also, but their protocol now is to treat aggressively with antibiotics, etc....just in case. I would greatly appreciate any spare prayers you might have lying around! Nothing worse that one of your kids being in the hospital and you can't be there with them.
Well, guess I better close for now. Hope you all have a wonderful day.
Hugs,
Mel

Good morning!
Just waiting for Church time - the first of the year we are switching times - we will get the early schedule - starting at 9 a.m., instead of 11 a.m., being that I enjoy a little sleep in time, the new time cuts into that! LOL
We have tons of snow - anyone want some? LOL The wind has kicked up and now it is blowing snow.
DS3 is on his way from California and should arrive tonight - can't wait!
The portable wheelchair ramp works at Matt's house - it is there now waiting for Christmas Eve - it is so nice that we can take FIL to the different houses now.
I volunteered - silly me - to finish up some Christmas stockings that DDIL made - she goofed up on one and I need to remake the name - so silly me will just finish the three of them - just the bindings this afternoon. Then I need to do the bindings on the wall hangings for my niece - as the family all knows from past experience and tease me all the time - I would be sewing the hem of the prom dresses as they walked out the door! LOL
So I am off to the upstairs from the Batt Cave to find my face and take out the rollers - oh if we had photos as we typed I would be banned from the computer! LOL
Have a great day - snow is free from me!
Hugs
Jana

I had a text from CHICKIE. She's been off the internet for a day or two. Everything is frozen! But she does have power.
