SUPPER CLUB - Wed, Dec 11

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Dec 11, 2013 1:31 am

I think we've left our freezing temps behind! Will be mid to upper 40's and mostly dry for a few days now. Good weather for wood. I'm a logger's daughter and I have to say, I am enjoying this wood-cutting project. Takes me back to my happy childhood. We'll bring home the last load today, clean up the debris, bring the tractor home, and fetch the splitter from my brother. Tomorrow, starts the splitting. Getting warm already thinking of it!

We have a little chicken and rice left. But not sure I can face it. I think I'll pop that into the freezer to bring out another night and make grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato bisque and salad tonite. One of DH's favorite meals.

Are you thinking of your holiday menus yet?

Good morning from cold, wintery, SW. Pa....I wish I could say, we're warming up but tomorrow is going to be worse...What happened to that global warming????

Mary, you sure do have a busy life, I can't keep up with you....Do you ever slow down?
As far as our holiday menu, I haven't a clue...I have a hard enough time coming up with the daily eats, lol....But, with our chef, Nicky, and his family being here, I'm sure we won't starve.....

Yesterday on my way home, a large pizza just jumped in the car which means, left over pizza tonight, that is, if Jim doesn't eat it for lunch.....I'm going to have to get a lock for the frig! I also found some very, very dark bananas in the freezer and hopefully they'll be OK for banana/nut bread.....Our #3 DS, Kevin, texted and said he'd stop sometime this afternoon...I'm sure he'll have time for some banana bread and cup of coffee...............

Happy eating..................

Good Evening All.....blooming cold again.....but no rain as yet.....
would like to say all my Christmas shopping was finished....but it isn't.....every year I am going to start early....and every year I panic....although I give money in the cards.....the lovelys love to do their own shopping and hand over real money.....there is nothing like having pressys under the tree and trying to guess what father christmas has put there....
Weve cleaned and vacuumed the caravan and put it to bed for a few months....our next trip out ..in January....will be our "Posh Ish"weekend staying in a hotel instead of the "vans.....so rain snow or gales....we wont have to worry about MUD.....just bring out the Glam bit.....and dress up....and no cooking for 3 whole days....

today however I did have to put in an appearance in the cooks room.....but my faithful slow cooker did its own magic.....Beef Stew and fluffy dumplings......ooooohhhhh......it smelt devine....tasted delish too.....no afters today.....we were to full....but I"m sure a slice of Carrot cake will keep our coffee company later tonight......

Hello All Been missing but just eating soup.Went to Dr on Monday. He wanted me on massive steroid doses but no go as I am allergic.
So he put me on a powerful antibodic they call the gold bullet for sinus infections.Have to take it for 3 wks.

We have been eating soup everyday. And grilled cheese.

MARYz Wood is hard work & it warms you 3 times.I used to enjoy doing it.

Stay warm & eat well. Becca
