Good Sunday Morning

Post by dforseth » Sat Dec 07, 2013 11:26 pm

Good morning from the Texas panhandle. Today it is 18* with the windchill at 6*, way up from yesterday!
I am working again today so no church or sewing for me. I hope each of you have a blessed day.
Merry CHRISTmas

This is the day that The Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad.

Morning all.....I am back in my sewing room today, didn't get as much done as I wanted to yesterday, Charley rang me and Stu was working, so she asked me over for a bit of girly time, so we snuggled on the sofa and caught up on the Mentalist :)

So today I'd better get on with the sewing.....I'm making my nieces frilly aprons for when they bake with mummy and a puppet theatre that hangs in the doorway, my sister was going to buy them one but the price was horrendous for what it is so I thought I'd make them one instead!!!http://www.gltc.co.uk/doorway-puppet-th ... 0000001260

Wishing you all a fabulous day, lots of love and prayers xxxx

Good Morning!

DEB - that sure dosen't sound like Texas! Stay warm!

JULES - That puppet theater is darling!! What a sweet and generous and TALENTED auntie you are! And what lucky nieces you have. They will be screeching with joy Christmas morning!

We're having impressive low temps for us, but nothing that's going to impress the rest of you right now! 20* this morning and will probably go down a few more before dawn. Tonite, we're having a little dinner party for 8 and I'm making cranberry chicken over white rice, sesame asparagus, caprese salad, hot rolls, and a tuxedo torte from the bakery. So today will be cleaning, cooking, and Costco.

Today is the first opening day for SS's! (in case anyone has forgotten. haha! Like THAT is going to happen!) Have fun!

Good early morning :-) DD ran out of propane last night so her, Jaz and Easton came to spend the night, so I started my birthday out pretty darn good so far! I'm holding Easton right now in my rocking chair with the Christmas tree lights on, he gave me some sweet beautiful smiles then drifted off to sleep......I am still rocking gently and holding him though :-)
DD brought my birthday cake too lol looks like chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, she baked it herself.....best kind of cakes if you ask me; the ones made at home with love!
I hope today is a good day for you all.
Maryz, a special hug from me to you! I'm hoping tomorrow you will get something :-)
Everyone have a wonderful day! Prayers for those in need.

Good Morning,,,cold and frosty here,,,,that bad storm is moving east,,,so all of you east coasters get prepared...make sure you have plenty of water and basics,,,,make sure there is gas or charcoal for the BBQ....even in the very cold you can still cook something if you have no power.

Wrapping is still going on...most everything is done and I am on cruise control now enjoying the time with family and friends.

When decorating the tree I an always amazed at how many latent memories pop up,,,,friends who are no longer around but still alive,,,those who are gone to heaven,,,the ornaments we shared,,,we used to exchange ornaments every year, a pretty large group of us used to get together for Christmas parties each year,,,,now life is very quiet...some have moved away and some just drifted away,,,,there is some meloncholy there,,,but good memories. and of course all the home made ornmemts from the kids...mY son is 46 and will march to the tree and make sure his kindergarten ornament is front and center,,always makes me smile..My DD went to yet another Christmas party last night and I remebered doing the same things, when I was young,

well I need to get a very few uglies done,,,and get a fire going,,,and have some coffee.. have a Christmassy DAY xxxooo

Good Cold Morning...

The sun has disappeared already this morning. Bad weather on the way that's what winter's all about. The quilt class yesterday was tons of fun even thought I managed to forget my cutting mat. I came home with a finished top for a baby quilt. They had a drawing & they pulled my name!! In the bag was a Dear Jane book, 2 FQs, quiltie note pad & bright yellow thread. In my age group Kathleen must have been a popular name or Kathleen's are drawn to quilting. Of the 14 woman there 4 have my name.
Today I need to do some cleaning up & start my cards. I've opened my SS box & Julie did a wonderful job making me happy!!

Deb.....sounds like you live in the northern US. I'm a warm 24'.

Jules....you are a wonderful SS. As I've said before I love you taste in fabric. Will post in SS after this. I live your puppet theater. You are a wonderful Auntie.

Maryz....CRANBERRY chicken!!! You must give me the recipe. Sounds like a wonderful dinner party. Have fun.

Tina.....HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! That's my kind of cake too! How sweet for you & Easton.

Judi.....you are so right about the tree. I couldn't put it better myself. I'm ready for the storm. I stocked up on water, bread & peanut butter/jam & apples.

Becca....prayers for feeling better after a resting day.

Love & Prayers to all in need......Kathy

Good morning! We are warmer here by a few degrees… a regular heat wave… well, I can always wish to be warmer. The pond has a glaze of ice on most of it, and the ice has a dusting of snow from the flakes that fell in the night. I should get out my camera. We had some ducks yesterday… maybe they will come back today and find the open water that is left.

Deb—good morning to you! I know you will cook up some love today at work. Have a blessed day.

Jules—the puppet theater is darling! I agree with you about the price. My DGD used to love to have puppet shows. My Q-snap frame changed from puppet theater to fort to club house and stayed at his house for a couple of years. What fun to spend time with Charley and “The Mentalist”—I do like that show! Your nieces have truly the “bestest” auntie!!!

MaryZ—have fun with your party! The menu sounds delicious. Your temps sound like ours—except ours are expected this time of year.

Tina—running out of propane in winter is critical. Happy birthday to you! You are right about the best cakes… definitely baked with love!

Judi—I hear you with the memories and some melancholy… Be sure to advise not to use the charcoal BBQ in the house. I need to get one of those little butane buffet servers for power outage back up cooking. I took my bone med and am waiting for “coffee time”.

Becca—hope you get your strength back soon… one day at a time. Have a blessed day.

Kathy—what a great day you had! Now you can become a Janeiac! I knew a Kathleen my age when I lived in S.F. Stay warm!

I’m doing laundry today, the floors (I have a love-hate relationship with the hardwood but can’t imagine trying to keep carpets clean—this is best for us), and some sewing…

Have a delightful day!

EDIT--Izzy... I walked all over you. OOps! I'm going to check out your goat pictures. How cute to have a singing husband. Have a wonderful day!
