Lois - LOL I know what you mean about being spoiled with our machines. I love sewing on my Featherweights BUT there's no button to push to cut the thread - ROFLOL!!!! I really do love them for piecing. They sew so nicely.
Izzy - brrrrr too bad you have to go out and check on the animals and not stay in and just sew. I am such a wuss!
Chrissy1 - the good news is that Myles will be having surgery. After work last night I stopped at Hobby Lobby and Walgreens then went home and made my dining room table centerpiece, unpacked my kitchen Christmas things and got them all out, fixed the arrangement on the coffee table, reworked the mantle, cleaned up all that mess and DH got the totes out of the house. I only have the bar between the kitchen and dining room to decorate but I quit working on stuff at 10:00 last night. I was tired. At least my cleaning lady can clean but she's going to faint when she sees all the glitter and small bits of greenery all over the floors and carpets. Well, all that rattling on just to answer your question about the tree being decorated - LOL. I got carried away. I don't bake and I've barely begun shopping.
Chriss - sorry you will miss out on your date with Jerry. If it snowed here we'd be hunkerin' down! I'll go look at your curtains when I'm done here. I'm afraid I'll lose my post if I venture away from it.
Suz - you go right ahead and feel sorry for yourself and you know you can always come here and vent. You just throw yourself a big pity party. You don't get to sew tomorrow because of your nephew's wedding and I can't sew on Sunday because I have to go to a wedding shower. I wish there was a law that people can't plan a wedding for December - LOL.
Maryz - on my way to work my car said it was 38* outside and it's going to get colder. Oh, well, I don't care about the cold temps but I do not like driving when there's ice on the roads. I can do a little more shopping but I have to wait 'til I get paid next week to do the rest of it. It's hell to be poor!
Maryq - oh, Lordy! Below zero! Gosh, my bones are stiff as a poker and it's 38* here. If I lived there.....well, I don't think I could live there. How do y'all breathe air that's that cold?
Kathy - shopping with your sister sounds fun if you have the time for it. I wish I had the time but when I shop I need to be looking for just the stuff I need, get it and get out. My sister likes to browse and that takes time.
Chickie - you and Maryq with the Minkee scarves. They must be really warm. How do you make them - just make a long tube? I know Minkee is so soft and it would feel great around your neck.
I'm off to get work done here and to look at Chriss' curtains.
May we all get to fondle fabric today.

Good Morning Cotton Pals
Well I think might be a day for sewing for me.
I did some online shopping because some of the
stores are still advertising cyberweek sales.
No waiting in lines or looking for sizes just
point click and there we go.
H and M had 40 % off your entire order.
Old Navy is having on line sales too.
It is rainy and dreary out on the Jersey shore
so I will be inside today.
My daughter has parent teacher conference for
Joe today. Cant wait to see what they have to say.
Have a wonderful day stay warm and dry

Afternoon girls, just a quickie as I'm running against the clock to get Ross's present wrapped and hidden before he comes home....it's from me and Charley and I picked it up today, bit of a drive but I fitted in breakfast with some girlfriends so that was nice
Suze - so thrilled you got the all clear - fntastic news
It's freezing here and we had dreadful winds and storms yesterday and the Thames Barrier had to be used as the East side of the country were expecting a tidal surge.....it's the first time in my memory that the Thames Barrier has been used.....a lot of people evacuated their homes and all the defences put in place seem to have pretty much worked all round.....another day of winds and wet weather today, so I'm hibernating indoors doing all the wrapping
Sad, sad news about Nelson Mandela....truly a wonderful man xx
My mums long lost cousin from Australia has just called to say shes in the UK visiting her parents and wants to meet next week, so I now have to arrange that.....will be lovely to see her, but I've had a busy week this week, running around and was hoping to 'hibernate' next week LOL
Lots and lots of love and prayers to you all, for family, friends, jobs, illnesses, travels, operations, weather......God knows your needs and will keep you all safe and comfortable xxxxx

Good morning all! Just a quick stop in today. I have to run to town and get milk and a couple other things. I want to start decorating the house today, but I have to clean first.
Izzy - Glad you get a day off to sew. Sounds like the goats are doing well.
Chrissy1 - Glad to hear about Myles surgery in January. If he needs more Dum Dum's all you have to do is let me know and I will go get more at Spangler's. Where is Mo's next duty station? You said something about going to Norway or some cold company for training. Tell him good luck and Semper Fi.
Suzette - My DH has been taking Tamoxifen for his cancer for severa; years with no side effects. You are in my prayers.
Maryq - Will keep your prayer requests on my prayer list. It is cold here also and I never get used to it.
Cindyg - I bet you are freezing in Houston with the temps in the 30's. My son says he has gotten spoiled with the nice weather since he moved to Houston.
well, better go get my errand done so I can get my uglies done. Prayers for all today. Keep warm everyone.
Sherry

Hello Everyone......I have been MIA here lately......just not up to par. Went to oncologist yesterday to find out I still have problems...my breast "chapter is closed" as he put it but have a new problem to be concerned with, seems like the CT scan I had showed a enlarged lymph node approx. 2 " bigger so here we go again more testing a PET scan this time possibly another biopsy which I am not sure I can handle after the last one. Started on Tamoxifen today so will see how that goes. Requesting Prayers please.
Christmas is usually my favorite time of the year but this year its way down on the list......just don't feel like doing anything go shopping just nothing had to force myself to get my SS tabletopper done & in the mail.
Suzette wish you luck at the oncologist today been thinking of you.
Thanks for letting me vent.

Good Morning!
Our furnace is out - it's a balmy 47 degrees in the study. Thank the Lord we have a furnace for the basement as well, erstwhile our pipes would have frozen. It got to -15 last night. I wondered why my nose was so cold!
The furnace repair guy should be here in a couple of hours. I'll be back to read after it warms up.
xoxo! Sharona

Re: Friday December 6,2013
Good afternoon from dreary, rainy, getting cold, Sw. Pa....If the weather people are right, lol, we'll be getting that white stuff starting tonight and it should be a heck of a weekend...But, not too worry, we just got home from shopping and have plenty of potty paper and cat food......
I was surprised, the stores were crowded at all and we zipped though quickly....And then we even went through a drive thru and brought home lunch....Life is good!
Well, sometimes, good....Jim did have a call from his cousin, the dermatologist and he needs to have the MOHs treatment, again...We more or less expected this but were praying he didn't....He's been through so much and has never complained....And to add to his problems, the family doctor wants to run a number of tests because of his increasing confusion etc. But, as Vicky always says, Keep looking up!
Izzy, how nice to get a "snow day"....Oh how the kids and I used to look forward to those days...I'm sure you'll make good use of your time off..So happy to hear "mom" and baby are bonding....Just in our paper this morning, one of the little communities near me is thinking of getting goats to help keep a large field from being overgrown...As I was reading, I kept thinking of you and your little ones.....
Chriss, Welcome to the world of crazy weather....I really like your new curtains..I'll be they really brighten up the kitchen....One of these days, I have to start looking...I've had sunflowers for so long, I need a change.....Just another thing to add to the list.....
I haven't been to our Kohl's for over a year so I guess I'd be in for a shock...But then I'm usually shocked at prices no matter where I go....I am doing more and more shopping on line and just ordered Kathy a nice big box of Harry and David's pears and goodies....She always had them when she lived back here and loved them....
Well, I'd better finish my tea and get busy....Not sure just what I'm doing, but something......
Hoping you all stay warm and safe..........
Have a great day................

Good morning!
Just upstairs putting out Christmas - party is Tuesday, so I had better get done!
It is burrrr cold outside - I think that we are up to 4 now and another cold storm is bearing down on us for the week-end.
If any is still looking for a good Christmas, here is an idea for you. The book is titled, One Sweet Cupcake, by Janell Brown. She won Cupcake Wars, last year and has a shop here in South Jordan, just down the road from me. Very informative on scratch cupcakes and decorating them. She is also a good friend of my DDIL, they served their missions together, in Texas. I found it on Amazon today. Matt is buying one for DDIL.
So I am heading off to buy another bookcase, never can have too many books!
Thanks for the comments on my little guy, Grandma loves him to pieces!
Prayers and hugs,
Jana
