Re: Friday, November 22
Hi, Suzette, prayers for your surgery today. May God be with you and bring quick healing afterwards. Sending lots of hugs and prayers your way today and always.
Judi, sorry about more friends facing breast cancer. Prayers for them and you too. May God bless you and all those who are making the BC quilts filled with so much love and hope and prayers.
Jules, Loved the little robin you made. You always make such darling little projects. If I ever get moved in and can find everything again, I have something I wanted to send to you a long long time ago. This will give you something to look forward to but may be awhile. LOL Moving date is Dec 18th right now. God bless you and all those delightful folks over the ocean.
Izzy, Enjoy reading about all the new babies in your family right now. So sorry you lost the 3 little babies. May God bless you and DH for all you do for not only goats, but people, lots of people. Sending lots of hugs and love and prayers your way for all of your family, be they two legged or 4 legged ones.
Too many to reply to today so just a few words before I get out of jammies and find breakfast. Son and family flew off to Disneyland on Wed am and will be back Sun nite. Dogs are getting spoiled by us and follow us everywhere. Think they have been neglected since girls moved out into apartment this last summer.
Rained all day yesterday, ice on table on patio. Not sure if car is just wet or covered with ice. Very cold but refreshing this am. This old AZ body will need some adjusting but I love it. Chance of snow coming in too. Can't wait. I am so excited to see snow again. Just don't want to drive in it.
We filled out tons of paperwork on Wed and should be able to move in to new apartment........patio garden apt.......on Dec 18th. Won't have time to decorate much this yr but will help DIL here do some.
May God bless you all today and always. Prayers for all your needs. I haven't had time to read all the posts so praying you all are doing ok, staying warm and happy and healthy this season. Love and hugs across the miles from Missouri. Shirley Mae

Re: Friday, November 22
WE became grandparents again yesterday. Our DD2 and DH adopted a little 7 yr old girl . She had been with them since early summer as a foster child. I can't post her name or picture because the courts took her away from her family. But she is an adorable little girl with long blond hair and big brown eyes. She will be 8 yo soon. We had met her twice.
Our DD has a 10 yo son and also a step-son, 20 yo, from DH's previous marriage. Nice little family, just slightly spread out in age. LOL The 20 yo is away at college. This family may be moving back to Midwest too in a year or so.
We now have 6 DGKs, 3 boys and 3 girls ranging in age from 6 to 22 and scattered all over the country in 4 diff states. The two older girls are here in Missouri and will be in an apartment about 3 miles from where we are moving to so will get to be around them as adults. Should be fun. Hope to teach them to quilt but who knows.
Gotta scoot. God bless you all again today. Prayers for all your needs.
Love and hugs, Shirley Mae

I agree with Chriss, send one of the quilts you are already finished.
We can all make a few more blocks and send $'s for more batting, etc.
I will put that on my priority. Thanks for all you do.
As you all talk about Pres. Kennedy, I was a junior in high school and sitting in American History Class when the news came over the intercom. The next week was so somber with the funeral and all the news coverage.
I will be sewing on my Christmas Table Runners again today. I finished piecing the first one yesterday. I am so happy with how this pattern looks. I will have to try getting a picture posted.

Re: Friday, November 22
Good morning!
Suzette - I remembered to pray for you and your surgery before I got out of bed this morning. I will continue to lift you up throughout the day. Hugs to you, my friend.
Lois - sure hope you're feeling better today after resting. You deserve your sew day!
Vicky - I tried to watch that video but apparently I don't have enough caffeine in my system for that to make any sense. Glad you found some alternate plans for your day. Hope Kim is feeling better today. I think sometimes I spend more time looking and reading and studying a pattern than I do actually making the quilt.
Becca - happy dance for your fabric arriving. Hope you're able to get done what you want in spite of your sinuses.
Maryz - happy binding to you. I was in first grade when the teacher in the next room burst through our door, hysterical. She kept screaming 'they've killed the president! The've killed the president!". We were scared to death as they hustled her out of there. She had a nervous breakdown later on that year. I think maybe non-quilters could donate their spare time to us!
Judi - that is simply awful. I will add this friend of yours to my prayer list.
Chriss - I like your day out plans - sounds like fun. How often do you have to get gas with the new car as compared to the old one? What a wonderful blessing the barns were/are!
Cindyg - what a sad way to celebrate your 13th birthday. I can't wait to get my blinging stuff out of storage - it's so fun to do.
Shirley Mae - lovely to see you! I'm thrilled with the sounds of your new apartment. God bless your DD2 and his wife for adopting this precious girl. The DGD we went to school to see yesterday is also adopted and was removed from her family. Congrats on the addition to your family!
We got up before o'dark hundred yesterday (4am!) and nearly three hours later we were at the DGC's school. It was so worth it. It got down to 6 last night and we received about 6" of snow. Today I will be wrapping my SS gifts and looking for a box. Also have to go to WalMart to get the last bits and bobs for Thanksgiving. Have a great day! xoxo Sharona

Good Rainy Morning.....
I'm late & slow going today. I'll blame the rainy, chilly day. I need to pop out to the bank, money for my trip....(:(:(:!! Can anyone help me with how much I should tip the shuttle driver?
I might try to make a little pot of soup today.
Suzette......you are in my thoughts & Prayers today.
Lois.....it sounds like you should rest & sew today.
Vicky....well it sounds like you have a nice childrens day yesterday anyways. lucky you...(: And sewing!
Becca.....So happy for you. I love getting fabric in the mail. Sorry your not feeling well & your better to day. My BFF is married to a priest & she sure dose a lot of entertaining.
Maryz.....it is hard to believe 50 years have passed since the assassination of Kennedy. Last night I watched old family movies on the history2 channel. He was good looking & filthy rich. It would be a good baking day here, warm up the house. I often wonder what my neighbor does all day with her time. I know she has a husband and they do take up some time.
Judi....I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. It seem to me that we recently have been hearing a lot more about breast cancer & other cancers. I think you should use one of the tops you already have. We are all woman.
Chriss....Yes....I'll be in Austin next Fri & leaving to come home at 6pm. Our Thanksgiving plans are all set. In the morning working at a restaurant making up meals for the needy then home to a turkey dinner from Whole Foods. I have a smart daughter.
I must get the day going.
Love & Prayers to all in need......Kathy
I need prayers for a excousin with pancreas/liver cancer. He is a nice man.

Re: Friday, November 22
Good Friday morning. Fifty years ago the innocence of our country was lost with the death of JFK. Then on 9-11-2011, we found out just how much evil was in the worldâŚ
Suzetteâwe have your back today! Best wishes!
Judiâuse our blocks in your quiltsâyou shouldnât shoulder the burdens of your friendsâ illness alone. HUGS!
Loisâenjoy your day of relaxing and sewing.
Vickyâyour card-making always sounds like such a fun evening.
Beccaâenjoy your 60s! We will be in the 30s. Itâs cold and gloomy here. We have ice from a light misty drizzle last night.
MaryZâI have no idea what to do on a âfreeâ day. What is that? I was a freshman in junior college 50 years ago.
ChrissâI also mark off the steps as I go on new patterns. I donât buy gifts⌠just make a few things for the âgirlsâ in the family.
Cindyâit would be worth a trip to TX to get a chance at that tote! Love the bling!
Kathyâyour weather sounds like ours. Soup sounds good. Can you imagine what the world would have been had Kennedy not been killedâŚ
SharonaâI love the idea of donated time to us! When I worked there were a couple of women who would never retire because they would have nothing to do. Huh? How foreign was that to me! I had piles of fabrics, books, patterns and couldnât waitâŚ
Veldaâso happy your table runners are coming out delightful⌠looking forward to the pictures!
Shirley Maeâcongratulations on your new DGD! Will you be making her a quilt soon? Hope you are getting settled in now that you are back to the Mid-West close to other family.
Time for me to get busy here. I will be delivering the cookies this afternoon so my DD doesnât have to drive in the dark (or me, either). We usually meet half way after she gets off work. Iâd rather not worry about her hitting any icy patches in the dark.
Best wishes to everyone on this somber day of reflection.

Re: Friday, November 22
Sad morning. Lucky made it through the night only to loose his long battle this morning to Pneumonia. He had hypothermia initially and doc gave him 50/50 chance. He lost suck reflex in the night and aspirated milk. Poor baby. DH took care of burial after I left this morning. Good news is lil sis is doing great I have been suplementing a bottle along with her nursing so she has more energy and is up and happy with momma goat:) lil brother is just a lil pig he nurses with no problem.
)
So now I have a house full of uglies when I get home to get done. I have lived in barn past few days with babies. Cleaning all stalls tonight and then they all should be ok. Keep fingers crossed cold front tonight wih dropping temps.
I will try to get pics posted soon
God bless and happy thoughts
back to work I most get for now:)

Good Morning Girls
TGIF!!! One more day of work and then I have the weekend to myself (room mate has to work Sat & Sun) So many projects going at the same time--maybe I can actually finish one this weekend! Have 2 tote bags to finish for one of the new Mom's at work--the one with twin boys, the Twin Sisters Quilts to do, my SS box to put together to mail on Monday (kind of cutting it close aren't I) And the usual house chores and laundry.
Thinking of Suzette this morning... sure she is in surgery as we speak.. Lots of prayers going up for her today!
Becca... don't you just love getting fabric in the mail! Hope your sinuses clear up so you can SEW.
Maryz.. Oh yes I remember this day 50 years ago. Came home to see my Mom in front of TV crying. It was her birthday too. It seems every generation has something that they remember where they were "that day" Pearl Harbor, Kennedy, 9-11. I can tell you what one "non-quilter" does with her spare time...NOTHING! stays in bed and reads or watches TV ALL DAY!
Judi...so sorry to hear about your friend. You must let her know that we are thinking of her--All of El's Angels praying for her!
Chriss.... seems that's all I have been doing lately--chasing my tail! I start one project then see 5 more I'd like to do! Have more orders to make more scarves.. I've lost count of how many projects I have started! Just not enough sewing hours in the day when you have to work!
Sharona.... I heard you guys got a little snow yesterday. We got some flurries, but it's nice and sunny here today. My BFF that lives up in LaSalle has to drive to Thornton to work--I always worry about her when the snow starts flying.
Vicky--you had a double good day yesterday--a trip to Joann and a visit with Ross! My BFF makes some of the most beautiful cards--where she gets the ideas from I don't know--they sure don't come out of my head! I did card making a few years back... but once the quilting bug hit me... all my card making supplies went to my Sis-In-Law!
Lois.. Enjoy your relaxing sew day!
Izzy... Sorry to hear Lucky didn't make it. I've lost count.. how many babies do you have?
ShirleyMae... Congratulations on the NEW Grand Daughter! How fun! It is so good to hear that she has found a good home filled with love. Congrats too on your new apartment. Hope you are able to get all settled in before Christmas and enjoy the holidays in your new home.
Kathy... Hope you have a most wonderful trip to Texas! I would think $3-4. for a tip for the driver is good... but I'm not the expert on tipping. I'd rather give too much than too little.
Velda..Can't wait to see pictures of your runner! Glad that it all worked out even with the little glitch in cutting.
Cindyg.... Will you post a picture of your boney fingers after this weekend? I'll show you mine, if you show yours. I have a feeling that I will be doing the same thing this weekend... or at least HOPE to!
There's a huge craft fair in town this weekend that I'd love to go to, but it involves taking a shower and getting dressed--2 things I hate doing on a Saturday
Well girls, I just wandered in to the kitchen to grab more coffee and noticed that it's a tad messy this morning... so guess I will go tidy up a bit before I have to get ready for work.
Wishing you all a most wonderful day!

Suzzette said prayers for you and docs for today. Waiting on your return from hospital with a good report. God Bless
Ok the total count of lil goat babies is 7 that survived. This was a bad birthing not sure why full moon I guess. We lost a total of 4. We have 3 girls in need of names:)) 4 boys.
Many ask what I do with them: The girls we keep for our herd:) I promised not to say the "M" word for the boys:(. I do use all our milk. MY DH loves it and drinks it up quickly:) I make butter from the creme. I have yet to have more than one at a time to milk so really not enough for soaps or anything else.
I will have birthing again in spring but will probably sell those:) I have plenty and will be giving my mommas a break for a year so no more babies from my veterans until 2015:)
I have three fields with 3 sires: Charlie, SpotOn and Jack. they each have 5-6 girls of their own. Jack gets all the new ones from SpotOn and Charlies fields. Charlie gets the veterans only:) SpotOn gets babies from Jacks field. Jack and Charlie are pure bread Nubian. Spot on is Nubian/boar. Its a geneology night mare keeping daddies away from off spring:) But I have a book that keeps me straight:)
Hope that clears up the mud of goat farming LOL. Its crazy but love them they really are good stock to have on a farm if want small livestock farm.
Well I plan to do uglies when I get home so I can sew sew sew on Saturday. I have to finish lap quilts to tie.
Lunch is almost over so will read some more then back to work
God Bless and happy thoughts

Re: Friday, November 22
Just a quick stop in. I remember exactly where I was 50 years ago today. I was in typing class in the back row when the announcement came over the P.A. My typing teacher put her head down and the desk and cried. I got to go to Dealey Plaza this Spring when I was in Texas for the NASCAR Race. I had my son take me there on the way to the race. Looking out that window in the old School Book Depository and seeing the X's on the street where the shots hit made me cry. Every generation has it's own memorable event. My Mother always remembered where she was when Pearl Harbor was attacked.
Suzette - You are in our thoughts and prayers this morning.
Izzy - So sorry about losing Lucky. If I had them here I would have them all in the house with me. You can tell I never lived on a farm. I just love animals.
Shirley Mae - Congrats on the new Granddaughter.
Well, going to go lay down a bit. My asthma wants to act up today. The weather here is "crappy". Have a good weekend everyone.
Sherry
Judi - So sorry about your friend. I will keep her in my prayers.
