Good Morning!

JULES - junipers are very toxic - to everybody. If all you got was a rash, you are very lucky. Hope the C-pap works for Rob.

SUZ - glad you got to sew as a consolation prize to missing the meeting! As for DWTS, I agree that person should have stayed. But it's a popularity contest and others have bigger fan bases. It's happened in past seasons, too.

LOIS - hoping for good news today on your ankle!

JULES - Charley's couch looks so warm and inviting! Lucky girl to have a mom like you!

TESS - we've already gone through our big bag of Halloween candy and need another. (and we don't get trick-or-treaters! lol!)

KATHY - good luck at the eye dr! And enjoy that baby!

CHRISS - enjoy filling up your car. Sounds like you'll be doing that a lot less from now on! Yes, Scottie is more like a very small sheltie now. And he is always herding us. So funny to watch.

IZZY - I should check that batting sale at Joann's. We buy Warm & Natural by the bolt so we are always looking for a very good deal. The factory is not far from here so we are going to see if they sell it there at a better rate.

JUDI - I hope you feel better soon!

KARLENE & TINA - any baby updates? What a great race we have going here!

CINDY - BOING! BOING! BOING! QUILTFEST!!! Hope you got your new shoes and have been breaking them in. when I was a kid, I always thought red ones ran faster. You should get red.

Our new quilt shop opened up in Gig Harbor. The old one slowly died. The owner was crabby and it reflected in her shop. I know the new owner slightly and she is a delight. She changed things around, brought in 1,000 bolts of new fabric (so far), and made a classroom (with 6 Vikings!) in front of four big picture windows that look out on a beautiful waterfront view. Many folks didn't even know there were windows as the prev owner covered them with stuff! There is even a little 'library area' where all the books are displayed, and an easy chair for DH's with a stack of mags that would interest men. It's a feel good shop now! I so hope they do well.

Yesterday was leaf-raking day. We had piles and piles and piles of leaves. Scottie was in puppy heaven! I did get a few hours in my sewing room and I hope for more today. I need to finish my present project before end of Dec but also have several smaller projects I want to get done, too. Pressure! I thrive on it!

May your bobbin always be full!

Teresa - that's so funny that you bought popcorn and 2 Snickers candy bars for Halloween. What a great idea. We don't have many kids so I didn't buy any candy and I'll turn off the lights. My BFF, Vicki, will be coming over to spend the weekend and do the quilt show thing and I will be getting ready for the quilt show. Priorities!

Suz - I also wash quilts before I give them away to wash out any markings and just so it will be fresh. I'm glad you meeting was cancelled if you are. Are you talking about last night's DWTS? I was a bit surprised myself as were the ones that got to stay.

Lois - good luck at the doctor's. We don't have Trader Joe's that I know of. Maybe I'll look them up on line.

Jules - ohhh you are going to a quilt show on Friday, too. I'll think about you while I'm at mine. Charley's sofa is so bright and colorful. You're a great mom.

Tess - glad you got some rest. Your whole outlook changes when you don't get enough rest. I couldn't stand another 6 hours in the day unless 3 of those hours are in bed.

Kathy - have fun at the eye doctor's.

Chriss - the good thing about a new car is that I'm getting older and I'm a woman and I don't want to get stranded with a broken down car. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it. That being said.....my car is fairly new and the brake booster went out on it already which means I had no power brakes and the car was hard to stop. That's what I get for buying a Ford instead of my usual Toyota. The good news is that the repair was under warranty.

Izzy - you will have 25 quilts for NH.....what's NH?

Well, I'm at work and being slammed. They know I'll be off on Friday so they are punishing me now for it. So while I'm really excited and BOING BOING BOING-ing about the quilt show I must try and settle my brain down to get this work done. Last night I made the chicken and dumpling casserole again so dinner is done for the next 2 nights except for making veggies.

May we all get to fondle fabric today.

Good morning!

Teresa - sorry to hear that the bushes were so mean to you. I hope the reaction heals up quickly. Sounds like you'll have another quilt done soon.

Suzette - I feel the exact same way about the quilts I make - I always wash them first also. Too bad your meeting was cancelled but glad you got to sew.

Lois - good luck at the doctors! We're getting two Trader Joe's out here in CO somewhere.

Jules - Charley's place looks lovely! I remember the pictures you showed us from before - now it really looks like a home. Love the pillows and quilt. Have fun sewing today.

Tess - where do you live? I'm thrilled you were able to get a good night's sleep - it just makes the world a better place. Have fun at the doctor.

Kathy - hope you pass your eye test at the doctor's!

Chriss - come on over for turkey day - we'll have lots I'm sure. My DSIL said he'd go out and get the turkey from one of the turkey herds we have out here. HA! I'm so happy for you and your new car - how wonderful it's helping pay for itself. Good luck on the book. We have several unsavory people in my family tree (as I'm sure most of us do). The good, the bad and the ugly. One guy in particular was both bad and ugly. Have a great day at work.

Izzy - glad you made it to work without incident. It's nice and foggy/icy out here as well. How nice that you're able to get so many quilts together.

Judi - I'm so sorry that pill is causing you such discomfort and pain. I hope it goes away soon.

Maryz - I saw the pictures on FB of our little Scottie. He is SO cute! I love the one at the beach where he is in mid-stride.

Today is the real day we find out about how much our health insurance is going up. DH is getting on the computer as we speak. I'm standing by with smelling salts. Other than that, it's the same old same old. Have a great day! xoxo Sharona

Cindyg - did you enjoy the little jig I did on your head? Oh I remember those days when going on vacation was so stressful, but it's SO worth it. Your dumpling meal sounds great. I'm making lasagna today because it's so cold here.

cindyg Nursing home: my ladies church group are making them for christmas:) I have sewn all the tops with the help of my angels here by sending me blocks:) The ladies will tie them and then I will bind them all. Just turning over backing for binding:) My DS got a boat load of fabric at an auction this summer for me and I am using the fabric for backing. Its a poly/cotton blend that will hold up well at the NH:)

Izzy

I got 10 rolls of batting with free shipping and only out 69 bucks:)) Noramally it runs 11 bucks a roll. I got it for 6.95:) Not bad for a twin.

Good morning, good morning,
We had a slight frost again last night. The leaves still have not turned on our maple trees, but when they do it makes our property feel golden!

I never heard from Victoria yesterday so I went poking in stores. I had gotten her part of a nursery set about a month ago that she liked and I was so excited yesterday as I found the other pieces. I can't wait to give them to her.

Dorothy - David is like Jim and was out mowing on Sunday for what he hopes is the last time this season, but we shall see. Have a wonderful time with Kathy.

Maryz - I'm not sure when Victoria will go. She is uncomfortable, but has not had a lot of 'starting' signals like Tina's DD has had. I was 4 days early with her and Rich's mom had him right on her due date, so if genetics play any part, I don't think she'll go past her due date. But what do I know!

I'm waiting to hear from Victoria today to see if I take things up to her, or if I start peeling apples. I'll have to check with my former boss and see if her horses could have the apple peelings.

Have a great day everyone,
Karlene

Gmaann said to say hi to y'all.....so, HI.

Maryz - your new LQS sounds cozy and lovely. I hope they are a success. I will go get my tennis shoes today. They don't need breaking in. Boy, the colors of tennis shoes these days is wild!

Good Morning Girls

Not much time to chat this morning. I'm off from work (Yippee) but will be spending most of my day in the car. Need to get oil changed, get a new driver's license (gotta get dolled up for a new picture), then head down to see Auntie. My sister told her I was coming for a visit, Auntie said "I didn't know you had a sister" even though I just talked to her the other day. She's 93 so I guess she's allowed a little dementia... One day she was upset because somebody took all 5 sets of her golf clubs! She's never golfed a day in her life!

So with that... I'll wish you all a most wonderful day and wish that you all can be covered in thread by the end of it!

Just popping in for a minutes I'm almost out the door with Mom.

Womster- I live in southern West Virginia-just on the Virginia line.

Oh my I am jealous of all the quilt shops. I have to drive 50+ to find a good shop. When I do get there I stock up on whatever I think I will need in the near future. I ALWAYS have a long list this time of year. I go through all my UFO's I'll be working on during the winter and new projects I want to start--make a list and then go down the road happy as can be. I always buy extra, I love that quilt shop. Anyone in Virginia? The shop is the "The Old Scoolhouse" in Floyd Virginia. It's not fancy, but full of treasures.

Tess - I live in Northern Virginia but my husband's family is from Wytheville. Have you ever been to Patchwork Plus in Dayton, VA? It's a nice shop. I like the Old Schoolhouse quilt shop also. One other one, have your been to Batiks Etc. in Wytheville? They have lots of other fabrics besides batiks.
