Good morning Lois,
I am home from camp!! Boy, I have to say I got a lot done in between all the talking and laughing. It is always a great three days. When I came home I was so exhausted I went to bed very, very early and now it is 2:15 am and I am up for the day. LOL My own fault. LOL
Got one of my son's Xmas gift done....a santa runner and 6 placemats.
Now that he has a daughter Santa has to be in his life. He loves all the quilting I do for him. He is a joy to make things for.
Luke was so glad to see me when I got home. I guess he must have wondered where I went to. Had to watch where I walked because he is always right by my feet.
Well I am going to go and work on a SS gift . I'll be back later.
Wish you all could have been with me at camp.
Carole

Good morning Carole, Lois and those that follow.
I can't believe I managed to sleep till 6am. It feels so good. I finished the breast cancer quilt top yesterday and got the strips cut for the Braid in the Day quilt for my nephew's wedding present. Plus I want to get a couple more things cut because after my biopsy it hurt for my to use the rotary cutter. That way I have stuff ready. Today I do have a few uglies to get done before I get out to my studio tho.
Carole - my son loves his quilts that I have made him also. I told him that when he and his girlfriend get their own place I had a quilt that I wanted to make for them.
Lois - I agree about time. I remember when I was little time moved so slow!

Good Chilly Morning.....
I have the heat running, we'll be 30s at night & 50s during the days all week. Today will be uglies & public radio. I want to rush through them so I can finish the binding. I'm half way around, can't wait to toss it in the washer/dryer.
Do any of you have a pot roast recipe that cooked in the oven with out canned or dry soup mix? I've had difficulty finding one. even on the internet.
Lois....I'm with you...I'm shocked the month/week went by so fast.
Happy sewing & TV. How are you managing to sew?
Carole.....Happy you enjoyed you camp. I always did. A room full of quilting woman, talking'laughing & someone else cooking....heaved.
Judi.....it was dark at 6 here I had to turn lights to see to make my tea.Hope you have a big sewing day. Glad you enjoyed you fish night.
Suzette...Oh I want to make that braid quilt 'gmaann' sent me an extra pattern she had & a pattern for a wall hanging both are El's pattern. I was so happy. Very good idea to pre cut a few projects....
I'm off to the uglies unless the quilt call to me.
Love & Prayers for all in need........Kathy

good morning cotton pals
Well I have some house cleaning to do and
then go to a baby shower. My nephew and his
wife are expecting a little boy. My daughter
will be going with me.
I went to see my granddaughter play field hockey
It was brutal cold outside and the way their
field is situated it is a wind tunnel.
Please keep Carmine in your prayers today. That is
my daughter in laws dad. Yesterday while were at the
field hockey she received a call from the nurse
practicioner and she was crying. My son called us
later and said that Carmines sugar had spiked and
he wasn't responding to the IV.
There is nothing more powerful than Prayers from Cotton Pals
Thank you
Have a wonderful Saturday

Re: Saturday October 26,2013
Hello to all
Here it is Saturday and each day brings us closer to heading south.
7 am now. and still not getting very much daylight yet. One more week and we will be having the time change again.
Yesterday turned out to be a nicer day than we expected and DH and I got so much done. I got our storage shed arranged and pretty much packed up. Got my flower pots cleaned up and ready to store. DH got the boat finished and changed oil on truck, greased and we both were tired last night.
Don't have anything exciting to talk about today. So I just want to wish you all a great weekend.
We will be going to our son's on Monday and will stay there until all of our appoinments are done. Then we come back on Wednesday night and hopefully can head to Texas. If DH does not get a good report, we may be towing our RV north to our Son's and staying on his property until we can go. Oh, how much I am praying that we get a good report, so that we can head south.
Carole: Glad you had fun at your quilt camp. Did Luke think you had been playing the hiding game??? Bet he did not want to let you out of his sight.
Suzette: Sounds like you are getting organized and ready. It's a great idea to have projects ready to stitch. Hope all goes well with you surgery. Keep us posted, as I know you will. Hugs
Lois: Hope you will be getting back to normal soon. It's been a long recovery for you.
Kathy: I am with you, hurry through the uglies, so you can sew. Great idea!!!
Hugs to all the rest. Be happy and safe. I will be around and reading posts, even if I don't post. I can read posts from my Iphone while on the road. I just don't like to post from it, it is too hard to type.
Luv

Good Morning!
We got home from our week at the ocean yesterday afternoon. I missed you guys! Even as I relished getting away from TV, computer, and the rest of life. I've come home refreshed and energized. I got the inside of the trailer emptied (except for DH's personal stuff, which he insists I leave for him - OK by me!) and then we attended a dinner last night. Today will be cleaning the inside of the trailer (oh the things a puppy at a sandy beach can do to the inside of a small space!) and do my thing with Mr. Maytag.
LOIS - last month when my hip/leg was hurting so badly, I finally started using my left foot to sew and was surprised at how easy it was. I've had no problems since then! Now cutting and ironing would be harder to do sitting down. So happy you've been able to work around it!
CAROLE - welcome home from camp! Three whole days to sew! You made good use of those days! how are the 7 Christmas quilts coming?
JUDI - My DH only snores if he's uber tired or had one too many glasses of wine. And if he does snore, he quits if I gently poke him. I guess I'm so lucky. Hope you get to sew a little while messing with the mess in the sewing room.
SUZETTE - When is your surgery? I've been gone and haven't had a chance yet to go back and read the week's posts. And how extensive will it be? Smart to get the cutting done ahead of time. My son loves anything I make, too. but then his wife quilts so he has an appreciation of the time, effort, and expense involved, as well as the heart and soul.
KATHY - I just made a small potroast in my crockpot while camping. I seasoned the roast with garlic salt and pepper. I put it on top of onion wedges, piled in some carrots and potatoes, added a bit of S&P over them, and put in 1/2 beer. I let it cook all day and it was amazingly good. Plenty of juices to make a nice gravy.
DELORES - I always froze at my son's soccer games - and later at my grandsons'. I was so happy when the soccer days were over! Will remember Carmine in prayer. how old is he?
VELDA - you sound like you're starting to get southern serious! I hear Lyn is soaking up all the sunshine. I hope you can hurry so you can get your share! Will say a prayer that all the medical test comes back with good reports.
our little Scottie loved the ocean! Washington beaches are all sand and very expansive. A lot of room to run circles and figure 8's around your people - a herding dog thing. He's growing up. He's no longer a round little puppy, but more of a pup now at 13 weeks. But still cute, plus he's house-trained! Only one accident in the last month - and that was our fault because we didn't listen when he clearly said "POTTY" to us. he can go all night, too. It's DH and I who have to get up!
This morning he was eating his kibble and I started the coffee grinder. Which startled him so much he jumped and knocked his food all over the kitchen floor. I turned to see what had happend and bumped my hand and dropped a second cup of kibble I was dishing out for his lunch! What a dog-foody mess! But he's such a good dog, he helped clean it all up!
As for sewing, I looked at my Dear Jane book, fabrics, and finished blocks, but never got my machine out while at the ocean. I worked on cross-stitch, some beading, read 2 books and took lots of walks on the beach. But at home, I have a tesselating star quilt that I'm making for my friend. She has a condo in Hawaii and I have a lot of leftover strips of Hawaiian fabrics from making her placemats a few years ago. We belong to a birthday club and her bd is coming up. Not sure I'll get it finished for this year, but hopefully this week will tell me if it's a realistic goal. It's a tedious and time-consuming pattern. What was I thinking???
Hope your Saturday evening finds you covered in bits of thread!
