Good morning! No sewing yesterday. I made the trip with DH to the recyclers, and the foliage was beautiful—deep burgundy reds to light yellow greens. We came home and picked up pecans; then it was dinner time. When I came in, my head felt like a water balloon, and it soon started leaking…

MaryQ—this is my annual head cold, too. I try to hide, but they find me. I was hoping it was allergies, but I am not so sure… (Sniff, sniff…) I love the twin sisters pattern, and it is perfect for twins! Have fun with it.

Suzette—it will be interesting to see your notes. With my mom’s cancer history, I do try to eat better. Sometimes I wonder—she was a dietitian and always ate well and maintained a normal weight but still had cancer.

Chrissy—remicade did wonders for our grandson, and he’s still on it. He is now the picture of health. The cost is unbelievable—can’t imagine why it hasn’t gone down some in 10+ years. I hope that Myles will be approved, and he can have a new start at a healthy life.

I may try to sew some today, but I may just hide in bed. Last night I had chills and probably fever. My eyes feel, as mom says, “like burnt holes in a blanket”, and they don’t want to stay open… I’ve checked, and there is no cold medicine in the house. Sorry this is short today… Let the thread times roll!

Good morning :o)
Suzette, interested in what they told you about food.
Chickie, I hope you feel better soon.
Cindyg, we've been dipping to 31* and I think those pesky mosquitos are gone :o) I hope your puppy feels better soon.
Chrissy1, I hope they approve the medicine for Myles by what Chickie said about her GS.
Kathy, I'd have to take pillowcases 60 miles to a LQS, glad you found one :o)
I have PT this morning so not a lot of time. I got the Suburban cleaned out yesterdat but not vacuumed so that's today and I need to use my little spot shampooer on a couple places, I guess Jaz spilled something and it didn't get reported to the cleaner at the time tsk tsk. I hope you all have a wonderful day! Prayers for those in need.

Good morning everyone. Just a quick stop in this morning. I have lots to do today. I got some quilting done yesterday for a change. I have been so busy that kind of got shoved to the back burner. Also got some cross stitching done on a Christmas project. DS called last night and they fly out tomorrow morning for their new assignment in Okinawa. At least 2 years until I get to hug my DGS's again. Thank God for Skype. They got all of their belongings packed by the movers and they are on their way to Okinawa also. Moving a Marine family is a major project, but at least they will all be together. Please pray for their safe arrival.
Well, better go get something done today. Will try to come back later and read everyone's postings. Have a good day all. Prayers for everyone.

Good morning!

Suzette - looking forward to your posting on fighting cancer with a fork.

Lois - I hope it's nice enough for you to go outside and soak up some sun.

Mary/Rose - I hope your back continues to improve.

Velda - it won't be long until you're deep in the heart of Texas! Good luck with all the last minute departure preparations.

Kathy - I'm glad you finally found a place to drop off your pillow cases! Enjoy your tea.

Judi - happy first frost day. We're still in throw away mode here. I like the sounds of your 20 year old coat. Hope the bone pill doesn't make you too achy.

Chrissy1 - I will be praying that Medicaid approves the drug that Myles needs. Poor little scruff - he's been through so much.

Maryq - ooh - what are you going to do with the extra $$ you found? Poor Jen - I've done that before only it was with the time. Hope your cold doesn't last too long. I agree with having the Puffs with lotion for any and all colds. The twin sister pattern - what a great idea!

Cindyg - today is my day to change the sheets also. So Kathy, thanks from me as well. Glad to hear the puppy will be on the mend soon. Poor thing. I almost killed our cat (again) about ten years ago when I listened to DS1 about feeding him some natural cat food. It didn't agree with him at all, he wasn't able to poop, and I came home from work on a Friday night to DH telling me 'the cat's been throwing up all day'. Now wouldn't you think that would warrant a call to me so I could get him into the vet? Long story short, he was given 10 days to either poop or be put down. I have never in my life been so happy to find treasures in the litter box. I am SOOO excited for you and the quilt show BOING BOING.

Miriam - oh dear so sorry for your cold as well. I remember back when I was working people would say 'oh it's just a cold'. Sometimes I would feel more sick with a cold than with other illnesses. I have cold medicine here , but it's expired so I'm chucking it as we speak. Hope you get to feeling better soon.

Tina - glad you were able to get most of the cleanup done on the car. Happy PT.

Sherry - prayers being said for your DS1 and family. That really must be quite the ordeal to get them all moved. Glad you were able to get some sewing done. I haven't sewn since August. I did find my machine though.

Today I am staying home - YAY! The house is going into the multilist today. Have a great day, y'all. xoxo Sharona

Good afternoon. At work and wishing time would fly a lil faster for 330 so I can go home.

Ferrier coming today to trip 14 goats hooves:) fun then I have to give them their shots and deworm aurora and roses:) then work on peanuts pin for birthing coming very close:) back tendons are a slouching but still tight. Probably first week Nov looks like. babies are low. They will move all to one side closer to birthing. Makes them look really funny:) She is slow moving fed her in barn seperate from others so she got plenty to eat.

Cold and crisp again this morning hi of only 55 today. Rained last night. Glad I didnt hang out laundry it will go on line today when I get home:) Yup I hang it out until about Dec. Then too cold and they just freeze lOL nothing like icy drawers to wake ya in the morning LOL.

DS installed wood stove this weekend in their house. He calls to tell me he pulled a "mom" moment. First time I built a fire I had house at 97 degrees with all the windows open in mid winter:) Well he made fire sunday (it was around 58 outside) He had house at 90 by evening. DDIL turned on AC to cool down house. LOL so much for lowering the electric bill :)

Well better get back to work. break time is over if you can call it that:)

God bless and happy thoughts

Here's the info from the seminar on cancer & nutrition.
it takes 20-40 years for most cancers to grow big enough to be detected.

- Maintain a healthy weight
- stay active
- eat more fruit & vegetables. canned and frozen are fine. You don't get all the vitamins like you do fresh but it is still good.
- cut down on meat consumption. Eat fish and chicken. 3-4 oz of red meat a couple time a week ok
- NO processed meats
- Include soy and soy products. It is a good source of protein. If you are a breast cancer patient limit it to one serving per day. If you are estrogen positive stay away from it.
- limit fat to 20-30% of calories each day
- increase fiber to 25-30 g per day
- eat whole grains every day
- eat or drink non-fat or low fat milk products. eat more yogurts.
- limit sugar, salt and alcohol
- reduce food additives and preservatives
- drink 6-8 cups fluid each day. tea, coffee, water. anything that is a liquid at room temp.
- use ginger, garlic onions, and turmeric as spices. turmeric is good anti-cancer spice

- be careful taking antioxidants during radiation. it can affect the treatments. use the antioxidants after treatment is complete.

Good Morning, Fast run thru. Dr appmt today for me. Feel awful. Had this for almost 2 wks and not going away. I keep getting a mild sore throat, doesn't get better but not worse either. Goes away in daytime. Weird!!!!! And the aches all over. And today the tummy oooohhhh. Hope you all don't catch this stuff, whatever it is. Didn't get flu shot 2 wks ago because dr office was out.

No more house lookers since first week. Rod is so discouraged. He looks awful from skin cancer treatments. Very bright red, drying, ugly crusting skin now and so painful. Treatment ends on sat and then he can start the lotion to clear it all up. Still has to treat lower lip for 2 more wks. That one hurts the most. Bad place for one.

Had DGS over weekend. Sure enjoyed having him here. He is 6 now and changes every wk and growing up so fast. Wanted to help me do everything around here. We sure will miss the little guy when we move.

If we ever get moved. Have to sell house first or keep paying rent unti feb. Can't afford that.

I ache too much to type and can't think anyway. Ear even hurts today and neck feels stiff and achy too. Yucky stuff. Prayers for all your needs today and always. May God bless each of you in some special way today and always. Love and hugs, Shirley Mae

Good morning,

I am all packed up and ready to go to quilt camp tomorrow. We rent a large room in a church in Sun City West and go there each year at about this time. We have all our meals catered in and each yr we have a committee that takes care of everything. Including fairy gifts each day. About 7 years ago myself and two other ladies started this and it has continued. This year I may have to chair it again, but we do have some new gals so maybe not. We have 28 going this year. It is so much fun and we get a lot of sewing done. We do not sleep over, we come home every night at 7:30 and return at 8 am.
I have 3 projects, 2 for my SS, and 1 for my son all ready to sew. Hope to get all three done by the weekend. By the way, we go tomorrow and it is over Friday at 3 or 4 pm.

Not much new here, have the binding to sew on my throw #6, and when camp is over I will start #7. Still have a Christmas Mantel Cover to sew for DD#1 and haven't found something to sew for DD2. sigh.

Well better get going and clean up this sewing room . I have your backs in prayers and hugs too.

Carole
