Re: Monday October 21
Good Monday morning,
I had a good time at my quilting class on Sat. and the only thing I forgot was my pins, but they wanted us to use paper clips anyways so it all worked out. I really enjoyed learning some techniques and the ladies were very nice. I wish I had gotten further, but there is a follow up class in a few weeks, so I'll have some homework to get done so that I am ready for the next class. The day sure went fast.
Today I'm taking a friend to the airport and then I'm getting my hair fringes cut.
Elizabeth had the funniest thing happen yesterday. She was on her lunch break and went a few doors down from her work place to Panera. As she was standing in line, there was just her, and an amorous couple behind her. She hears the guy say, "Oh girl, your lips are so juicy." and she burst out laughing. The Panera employees were muffling snickers, but when Elizabeth burst out laughing, that got them going too. I guess the couple was a little put out.
Kathy - that sounds like an interesting meeting even if the scheduled speaker did not show.
Tina - so sorry about your Aunt.
Maryz - have fun at the beach!
Maryq - wow, that time with Jen sure went fast.
Chriss - Woo-hoo for Marilyn! Good job on getting the MVP!
Cindyg - sorry your puppy is still not feeling well.
Well, onwards and upwards,
Karlene

Afternoon girls
Suze – ooh sounds like the perfect day yesterday.....enjoy your ‘therapy’ when you get home from work
oh just seen you have your nutrition and cancer class, hope it’s good, sounds like a good place and nice they run the classes for free
Teresa – I felt like a bit like you yesterday, feel like a cold is coming and my chest is going back downhill
also all my joits are swollen and painful, just feel rubbish.....and I’ due my flu jab this week so I’m hoping to get this (whatever it is) shifted so I can get my flu jab x
Lois – hope you have happy sewing time today
Mary/rose – wishing you a good day at work and hope your back eases, put ice on it when you can
Chrissy – glad Myles was able to eat a little
well done to Torrie
Chriss – have a good week, hope it doesn’t get too busy for you
Maryq – hope you find something for lunch and you manage to get more hugs and kisses before Jen and co head home x
Cindyg – ooh Charming Charley’s sounds wonderful, but then thats because I have my own charming charley here LOL hope your little schatzi is ok, can’t wait to see your Dresden sunflowers
Kathy – an interesting quilt meeting, and it was free – can’t be bad
have fun at the LQS
Well I’m feeling yucky again, can feel my chest getting heavy again.....I am so fed up with feeling poorly......lets hope it doesn’t amount to anything, I want to get my flu jab before the really cold weather arrives
I did some crocheting at the weekend, made another cushion for Charley and am now crocheting her a shawl.....she has to take her class out for the day on Friday and they are goinging to spend the day at a ‘Victorian’ school – I think she’s hoping the kids will realise just how good they have it now – but they all have to dress up in Victorian costume, so she has a highnecked, lacy collar blouse and a full long skirt, she just needs a shawl to go with it, so thats what I’m busy with this week
Love and prayers to you all xx

Good chilly morning
) 35* here
)
Teresa, sorry you're not feeling very good.
Suzette, I hope you get some sewing in too today.
MaryR, yep kinda cold here too. Hope your back gets to feeling better. When you get home use a heating pad, they help alot.
Maryq, hope you get those extra hugs and kisses
)
Kathy, your quilt meeting does sound interesting.
Cindyg, sounds like you and Sue had a great time
)
Lois, hope you get to sew more then an hour today with no yuckies after.
Chrissy1, happy Myles is starting to get better.
Chriss, you've been busy lately?
I have a dental cleaning this morning. DS stayed the night and he'll be leaving while I'm at the dentist. I'd like to see if I can get my vehicle cleaned out today and get our Winter things put in where they belong, since the accident my Suburban has suffered from neglect.....I'm the only one who cleans it. I got to talk to my Grandma last night, we think she told me she loves me....made me cry some and Mom too. Grandma can't talk very much these days and when she does most of what she says can't be understood or make since, wish I could've been there.
I hope you all have a wonderful day! Prayers for those in need.
Tina

Good morning!
Suzette - you have inspired me to make an applesauce cake. It's 20 here this morning - it snowed most of the evening but it all melted into the ground I guess. Have fun at the class . I agree with sewing = therapy.
Teresa - so sorry you're not feeling well. When I was young, I used to do all my cleaning at night. I'm impressed you were able to clean at all! Good for you. I hope today finds you feeling better.
Lois - I'm thrilled you've found a way to sew.
Mary/Rose - back pain is the pitts. I hope yours continues to work its way out and that you're not in too much pain today.
Chrissy1 - that is great news about Myles and Torrie.
Chriss - good morning! I'm so excited that Mar was MVP - yay for her! Whoosh....
Maryq - sure hope you get those last minutes smooches today. I wanted to stay in bed today as well. I forgot to set one day on the programmable thermostat and woke up to camping weather again. BRRRRR
Cindyg - your weekend sounded fantabulous and quite productive. I'm like you with the out of sight/out of mind. I'm sorry the baby dog is still sick - hope it's a quick shot of something to get her back to normal.
Kathy - you get an E for effort for finding the place! How fun that you got to slip into the back row. Three male quilters - wow! I loved the quilt class I took from a male quilter - he was a hoot. I bet your neighbors would help you eat that apple cake!
Judi - great - now I l will have that song stuck in my head all day. Have a wonderful class!
Karlene - I've forgotten what you're making in your class - glad you enjoyed it. Oh my - I burst out laughing here all by myself - that is so funny! It was another good Sunday at the church you told us about. I still have to pinch myself to believe DH is actually attending with me. Hope the airport is not too far away.
Jules - well drat - I hate it that you're feeling poorly again. It sounds like Charley is settling in quite well to teaching. I just have to watch those Victorian things to know how good I have it. What a great life lesson for the kids. How sweet of you to do a shawl for her.
Tina - have 'fun' at the dentist and I hope you can get your car winterized before the snow flies. That's so sweet that your grandmother told you she loves you. Makes me tear up as well.
Today we're headed up to the old house to see the results of the painting, repairs, and new carpet. It's so sad that DH waited until we moved to make these fixes, but he says he's learned his lesson. Prayers and e-hugs for y'all today. xoxo Sharona

Re: Monday October 21
Good morning to you! I found my sewing room for a couple of hours yesterday—pressed 9-patch blocks and fused and appliquéd chubby chicks for my DD’s Christmas quilt. Now I’m hand embroidering the chicks’ feet before I put the top together.
Suzette—I’ve started wearing my long-sleeve t-shirts, too, and my “long” jeans. ‘Tis the season… Feels good to be on a roll and get to sew uninterrupted.
Jules—you poor thing! Wish you could shake the cold/flu that’s been plaguing you. I know you are sick and tired of being sick and tired. You should tell your DH that you need a trip to the Las Vegas climate…
Karlene, I’ve never used paper clips for paper piecing… interesting. That is a beautiful pattern; will look forward to your rendition… I think Elizabeth did the right thing and the employees, too. Usually, it’s “Get a room.”
Judi—have fun today!
Kathy—sounds like your group went well yesterday even without a “scheduled” speaker.
Cindy—hope Schatzi gets the help she needs… poor baby. Saturday sounds delightful.
MaryQ—love your desk! So sorry Jen has to go back to AK… hugs to you!
Chriss—have a good day!
Chrissy—Hope Myles gets a new, helpful treatment regimen. He’s such a little fighter! Torrie is amazing; best wishes to her!
Mary/Rose—hope you make it today. Hard to believe it’s frost time.
Lois—try to get up and stretch a bit while you are on your sewing marathon. Know it was still good therapy for you.
Teresa—hope you are feeling better. The quilt pattern is really pretty.
Sharona—same thing happens with every house and husband. We got one fixed up, and my late DH tried to talk me out of moving… too late as I had my heart set on the new house. The kids made all the changes I wanted to make to the trailer after we moved out. They loved my ideas. You are not alone.
Tina—that’s so sweet about your grandma. So sorry for the loss of your aunt, too. It’s never easy, even when you know they are now healed from their sickness.
I may go with DH to take another load of scrap iron today to the recyclers. Too bad the quilt shop over there closed a couple years ago. I definitely plan on sewing today, too.
Have a super day; let the thread times roll!

Re: Monday October 21
Good morning all! Not much going on here today. I hope to get started quilting on a quilt I finished about a month ago. I have been lazy with my quilting. Dear Jane probably thinks I am never coming back. I have been working on some Christmas cross stitch projects. Pepper is feeling better only 2 more days of giving her the IV's. She lays there really well, better than I would and I am not a dog.
Izzy - Pepper loves green beans, corn and a lot of vegetables. The only thing her Vet says not to give her is grapes and raisins. They are deadly to dogs in large amounts. Pepper loves veggies and fruits.
Kathy - Glad Kim is getting better.
Lucie - I will keep your Airman nephew in my prayers for him in Afghanistan. My Marine son has had 4 tours in Afghanistan.
Maryq - Glad you had fun with your family. There is never enough time for hugs and kisses. My DS and his family leaves this week for 3 years in Okinawa. Thank God for Skype, but it is not as good hugs and kisses.
Mary/Rosebud - Hope your back will be feeling better today.
Chrissy1 - Torrie is so brave to do a walk so soon. Great job! Glad Myles is starting to eat. He is heading in the right direction. How is Mo doing? If you have the family of Lance Corporal Collins address please send me a PM so I can send them a sympathy card. From one Marine family to another. Thanks.
Chriss - Tell Marilyn good job with her soccer.
Cindyg - Hope Schatzi feels better soon. I know how it is when a pet is sick. They are just like our children. Quilt Show is getting closer!
Teresa - Glad your head and eyes are starting to get better. I know what you mean about the body slowing done. I am probably older than you (66) and I notice it more and more every year. Although since I retired last year I feel better than I have in years. Will keep you in my prayers.
Well, better go now and get something done after I finish watching Mike and Mike on ESPN. Have a good day everyone. Prayers for all.
Sherry

Sharona - Miriam is right, it happens with every house and every husband. David keeps saying how nice it looks to have the walls painted. Of course we didn't do it until we're looking at listing the house!

Re: Monday October 21
Good late morning from sunny, but chilly, SW. Pa...I've kind of been MIA in my posting but I have managed to read and keep up with all you busy bees......
We've been busy around here but when I look around, can't really see what we've accomplished, does that make sense????I've been trying to get things caught up, cleaned up and sadly, winterized...I brought my plants inside and I'm just hoping there's no stink bugs hidden in the pots.....
I have done a lot of crocheting, getting things ready for our upcoming card part...I've made an afghan, dish cloths and also crocheted tops on dish towels....With so many exciting football games lately, I crochet faster and faster.....Between Notre Dame and the Steelers, I have a huge bag full.....Tonight is our meeting and I'm serving so I have pumpkin pie in the oven and apple/walnut squares cooling....It's going to be a struggle getting these goodies out of the house with Jim standing guard...Hopefully there will be leftovers.....
Cindy, I sure hope the vet has a quick fix for the furbaby...I hate those times when they aren't feeling as peppy as they should...It is a huge worry.....
Chriss, great news about Mar but we all know she's an MVP, how could she not be...I tried and tired to get to your house for that "practice" turkey dinner..When are you doing your practice Christmas, maybe I can get there....And then Mary skipped out...I really wanted to go to the beach.....Talked to Kathy last night and she sounded excited...But she can't be more excited than me...And more news, her DS, Dan, is closing on his new house this week, so she'll get to see that and also Cari has a house she wants her to see....All kinds of good things.....
Well, the timer just went off and I have to hustle...My day is moving too fast....I do want you all to know, I keep you all in my prayers and many times during the day, I try to set aside a few minutes for those prayers....I might not know you all in person but I do feel very close to each and everyone.......
You all have a great day.................
