Re: Friday October 18,2013
Lois - why are you messing with your sewing room? I must have missed something.
Suz - if you didn't feel some anxiety I'd have to wonder about you. I think it's the unknown that gives us our anxiety. A quilt shop in a little walk-about town is fun. The one we go to has a tea room right across the street and the food in there is terrific.
Vicky - awwww you get to see those babies today....and make grape juice. How do you go about storing the juice? In the freezer? I don't like sci-fi movies either or gory murder shows or weird head-spinning movies.
Kathy - that's great news about your sister. Relief.
Tess - it's so cool that you are having a date day with your DH. Do we really have to talk about sewing messes? LOL
Chriss - Kroger has them....if you have a Kroger. Usually any grocery store with a bakery will have them. This year I think I'll splurge and buy the fresh already chopped onion and celery. Why are you having a practice dinner - just so you can have left over turkey?
Tina - keep us posted as to what the doctor says this afternoon.
When I got home from work yesterday I found doggie diarrhea all over the kitchen floor - oh gag! So DH and I had to spend an hour getting it all cleaned up. The freshest little pile had blood in it so I was worried. I had let the dogs out in the back yard so I didn't know which one was sick. It was my Schatzi (Yorkie) so I had to clean her up, too. I was thinking I might have to take her to the vet today but there's been no more messes on the floor and she doesn't act sick so I guess she'll be OK. Anyway, thank God for PineSol! Had to wait a few minutes to begin dinner - just couldn't do it right away with poopy smell in my nose. Days like yesterday make me so thankful for the "clean" days. So now that you are all sick to your stomachs I'll change the subject. Tomorrow Sue is coming into town and we're going to a quilt shop and to lunch. I guess we need a pre-quilt show day - LOL LOL. Two weeks from today - BOING BOING BOING BOING. I can't stand the wait!!! I'm just plain goofy about it. I got up at 4 AM to go tinkle and before I could get back to sleep my mind started going and most of it was thinking about the quilt show. Never did go back to sleep.
I hope we can all fondle fabric today.

Good morning!
Lois - what a great idea to create a temporary sewing room!
Suzette - one of my sisters likes Project Runway. Hope your uglies are quick so you can get back to sewing. Good luck on scheduling the surgery - I can understand your trepidation.
Vicky - have a wonderful breakfast with your DMIL - you are so sweet to be so good to her. I know Shannon enjoyed the meal you took for them - moving isn't for the faint of heart. Enjoy your Tia and babies day.
Kathy - YAY! That is WONDERFUL news. So glad to hear it. I loved your description of the greeting card. We serve an awesome God.
Tess/Redtop - have a wonderful day with your DH. Sounds like you've been really busy.
Chriss - a practice T'giving dinner? That's a new one for me. I did see those bread cubes at our Costco. Hope it all turns out.
Tina - I'm glad you're feeling better this morning. Anxiously awaiting the baby news from the doctor.
Judi - drat that the RR won - they beat our undefeated streak. Oh well - maybe this will rekindle the rivalry. Have fun with those windows.
It is snowing here today - I am loving sitting in the sun room and watching the snow gently fall. Of course, when it's a raging blizzard I'm sure I'll be singing a different tune. My last day at the old house was yesterday. DH still will be going to mow/shovel snow and get the last two loads out of the garage. Now I can concentrate on unpacking here - yay! I talked to our handyman about getting a pocket door installed so I don't have to keep going up and down two sets of two stairs. It's playing havoc with Arthur (arthritis). He thinks it's doable - so yay there too! Have a wonderful day, my beautiful quilty friends. xoxo Sharona
Cindyg - so sorry your little Schatzi was sick. I hate it when the animals aren't feeling well, because you can't ask them what is wrong or where it hurts. I'm really glad he's feeling better today. BOING!

Good morning!
Scrappy Pat—so good to hear it went well for you yesterday!
Suzette—you know we are all with you through yours, too. It’s normal to have anxiety ahead of the surgery. I’m sure you have an excellent surgeon.
Kathy—I’m going to make your muffins. By baking mix, I assume you mean like Bisquick. I’ll make my own mix. Love the moon description! It’s been beautiful here. We had geese flying over us as we picked pecans. Good you were with your sister with all the mix up and craziness of the day!
Chrissy—I do hope they get Myles some good meds and he feels better—not fair when little ones don’t feel good.
Lois—hope you get to start your fabric therapy today!
Vicky—I love your blocks! They really are going to make a fabulous quilt. I figured out the mistake (finally) but think you should leave it. Have fun with Tia and the babies!
Marilyn—I buy cheap bread, cut it in cubes and toast it in the oven on cookie sheets. I want to come to your house for turkey!
Tina—You have been busy with the AB blocks. I think I missed what they were for… Hope you feel better and better! I’m going to have to bring in flowers today. We are going for 32 tonight. Sigh! I’m never ready for cold weather.
Judi—congratulations on the Wings’ win. I’m looking forward to seeing your prairie points. Mom has put them on several of her quilts. They definitely are pretty!
Cindy—I wonder if Schatzi ate a plant that was poisonous. I had to keep philodendron out of the reach of my cats. I do hope she is going to be well. Have fun with Sue! Only two more weeks—B-OI-OI-OI-N-G!!! I love your enthusiasm.
Sharona—So you are going to be sending me the cold weather… It will be good to the the “old” house finished and ready to go on the market. My son-in-law installed a pocket door in one of their houses.
Have a great day! I haven’t gotten anything accomplished for a couple of days. Today will be bringing flowers in to the sun room for winter and cleaning up some of the pecan mess. We still need to get the rest of the pecans. This is probably the best year we’ve had in 5 years. It’s supposed to rain this afternoon and freeze tonight.
Have a great day! Let the thread times roll!

Happy Weekend Eve!
Our company decided to leave a week early, so we are packing our own Rv to leave on Sunday for a few days at the ocean. Yay!!
LOIS - I hope you get everything arranged so you can start sewing again.
CHRISSY - so glad you found a source for a quilt.
SUZ - Do you know how extensive your surgery will be? Hope you ca schedule it ASAP and get it in your rear view mirror.
VICKY - what kind of grapes will you be using? Mom always used concord, but I never see that variety any place anymore. How long is your MIL expected to remain in the hospital? These days it seems they rush patients off to rehab as quickly as they can.
KATHY - such great news for your sis! your 'postcard' from God sounds beautiful! Isn't tonite supposed to be some kind of special moon? I hope I remember to watch and see.
TESS - enjoy your runaway day!
CHRISS - happy Practice TG!! Hope you find those cubes. When I was little my mom always sat my little sis and I down at our Little Red Table and gave us big knives and it was our job to cut up 6 loaves of bread to make the stuffing. Don't forget the cranberries!! Your DEX was clever - appetizer sandwiches!
TINA - sorry about the yukko feeling, but happy that you're doing better today. Don't feel bad about leaving last night's dishes. It's not like they're going to go anywhere! Dirty dishes are just like dirty laundry: they always wait for you no matter how long it takes. Anxious to hear about the doc appt! Hope you get to sit down and sew on something fun soon.
JUDI - some day I'm going to try prairie points. I've seen quilts where they are just used as accent with about 8 of them towards the top of the left border and 8 of them towards the bottom of the right border. striking effect! Windows! You keep reminding me. I never did get mine done. Do you hire out??
CINDY - YUCK!! I'm picturing your kitchen with a brown lake on the floor. When Snickers was a baby dog we came home to the same thing once - only on our brand new berber carpet! he'd gotten into chocolates that were up on the dining room table. But if you found blood, I'd sure take a sample to your vet and have them check it out. Have fum with Sue tomorrow. Are you going to the shop where the tea room is across the street? Just a practice run? Like Chriss's TG?
SHARONA - I'm glad you're done with the old house. I'm not understanding how a pocket door will keep you from climbing two sets of stairs. How many stories in your new house?
Today I hope to go to Tacoma to a Christmas Craft boutique. My DD used to belong to it - for 15 yrs - and it's a nice one. also, I want to go to the Whistle workwear shop and buy my DH some flannel-lined jeans for Christmas - they are on sale.
DH and I are working together on DD's Christmas quilt - some is freehand (me) and some is computerized (him). I'd love to get it down by tomorrow, but that probably won't happen. I'm almost done with a cream/gold tablecloth and napkins for DD. I've got different fabric to make the same for my DD#2. And I hope to make some boxer shorts for her hubby. All Christmas gifts. Then, I might start making grocery totes. Just because I don't have a quilt umder way at the moment doesnt' mean there's boredom in my sewing room!
Hope you get into the cotton today!

I cleaned the kitchen twice now LOL I made Apple Struesel (sp?) muffins after the 1st cleaning hehehe they were very yummy!
Cindyg, poor doggie....we've been going through the same thing with Duncan (I think he got sick from Jaz) but Thank Goodness his only messes were in his kennel. I'm gonna try to give him a shower today which will mean me putting on shorts and taking him onto our shower tub and washing him, no way can I do it outside the tub. I hurt my daggum elbow sometime or other.
Chickie, LOL no you didn't miss it, I guess I was just thinking about it and wrote it down
) I'm sending enough strips for all my Aunts, Uncles, cousins and whoever else to sign just to make a quilt
) I'm asked them to put: their name, DOB, where they live and how they are related to Grandma....to put who they are the son or daughter to....does that make since? LOL I know what I'm trying to say but not sure if I'm saying it right.
Sharona, I gotta ask too.....How's a pocket door gonna help with stairs? Not picturing it LOL
Maryz, Scottie is sure slimming up and lengthening his little nose which makes him really look like a Sheltie now
) Do you know about how big he might get?
We were down to 31* yesterday and I don't know what today but it was cold! Brrrrrrr but the heater was on in the house so it was nice in here
) Well I need to get busy and vacuum
( but Frankie's gonna move the furniture for me so I better get while the gettin is good.

Re: Friday October 18,2013
Re the pocket door - the kitchen, dining room, family room, front room, laundry room, mud room and the entrance to the garage and the downstairs staircase are all on the same level. The sun room separates the kitchen/dining room/front room/family room from the laundry room, mud room garage and the staircase. My bigger pantry and freezer are in the mud room also. So any time I have to do laundry or get stuff for meals or leave the house through the garage, I have to go down two stairs and then up two on the other side. Carrying groceries in is a nightmare.
I know it doesn't sound like much, but when you have to do it 30 or 140 times a day it adds up to a lot of wear and tear on the old knees. Sandy, my second sister down, saw me struggling to do these stairs and came up with the idea of putting a pass-through from the dining room into the back of the house. Brilliant!

TINA - Scottie will be about 25-30 pounds, max (he's 9.5 now). and he's 10" tall at the shoulder and a full grown sheltie is about 15 to 17". Last night he went into our bedroom and he started to bark his little puppy bark. I went to see. he was barking at a bottle of cleaner on the shower floor. he's so goofy!
SHARONA - It sounds like you have to cross your sunroom to get from one part of the house to another. And it's a sunken sunroom, so it's down/up and up/down every trip you make. And your sister suggested you punch a hole through a wall, and install a pocket door to make a shortcut so you don't have to cross the sunroom. Is this right? Maybe I'll just have to come see for myself!

Mary, you are correct! But please come and see for yourself.
DH informed me they dropped one of my sewing machines whilst moving them into the garage. Thank goodness to wasn't my Pfaff! Now that my heart is back in my chest, I think I need a nap.
