Good morning :o) I had a very rough night with 2 furrbabies and was up several times cleaning up their kennels and letting them out, the last time was 5:30 this morning ugh, I'm wiped out!
Teresa, sounds like you needed that much sleep.
Suzette, I am hoping and praying that the results will be in your favor.
Lois, I hope you're healing good.
Chrissy, prayers for Myles, I hope he makes a speedy recovery.
Kathy, Mmmmmmmm your CCC cookies sound pretty darn yummy to me :o)
GrammieQ, my DH vacuumed out the furnace and all the vents this past weekend but hasn't turned it on yet.....I like the cool evening and morning, they usually help me sleep better :o)
Chriss, my mom has AARP and really likes it! I think it is terrible that they make a 2nd insurance mandatory for older people. My mom's coats her $400 a month with her RX plan which takes up half of her SS check a month, my Aunt only gets $550 a month so I don't understand how the gov can have people paying for a 2nd insurance when it leaves so little to live on. My mom had told me that she read they may be doing away with it because it's a hardship on most, I sure hope they do!
Pat, prayers for your surgery and fast recovery. I hope you get to travel soon.
Sharona, I hope today is easier on you.
Maryz, when I was reading that you took Scootie for a walk I was thinking "I bet you had to carry him part way" LOL nope, but I sure love the "you broke my dog" saying LOL Thank you so much for the info on Easton, it makes me feel so much better if he does make an earlier appearance. I'd like him to arrive on Halloween LOL totally selfish reason......I think it would make for some awesome birthday parties! LOL
Cindy, I think I've missed what you've been working on lately.
Scrap48, hope you're feeling better.
Chickie, wonder what's up with you not being able to post? Maybe Maryz's tech can help you figure it out? Oh Billlllllll, where are you? Can you help Chickie out? And I LOVE Black Walnuts! Especially in a jello dessert I make and they are very good in Banana Nut Bread, I use pecans most of the time though because the Black Walnuts are very expensive when I can find them and the amount I use is crazy so we go the cheaper route LOL
Karlene, well they haven't changed Holly's due date in writing but the Ultra Sound tech told her it was the 8th and she's already dialating so I'm thinking he's coming even earlier. At her shower she got lots of very nice things and things she needed, the only thing she didn't get was a breast pump so we're trying to figure out how we can swing that. :o)
Lucie, sounds like Drew is going to be keeping you on your toes today LOL enjoy! :o)
Well I better eat breakfast. Need to get things picked up around here, never know when I might get the call saying she's ready. I want to be able to let the dogs out tp potty and put them away and leave...maybe a 10 minute delay from the call to me leaving.
I hope you all have a wonderful day! Prayers for those in need.
Tina
Oh, Mom and Dad should reach Grandma's house today.

It's a rainy day here and I am thankful to have it. Hubby canceled the farrier and the dog groomer is here.

The groomer and I were talking about how short to take the hair on the Aussies. I was thinking teddy bear. She was thinking shorter, which I had also considered. I like shorter in this weather, it's easier to clean. It also gives less warmth. As she pointed out the dogs aren't outside, and they know how to come in for warmth. I decided to go shorter. Then I got the look. The one where you get looked at like you just said What??? It was from the dog. the groomer saw it too and we both started laughing and they are getting the teddy bear cut. After they are done the hound and the terrier will get nails done and we are done for this year.

I have supper in the oven. I am going to sew as soon as I am done here.

Judi, we don't have our boiler going either. The guys need to get some firewood and then we will get it fired up. I do like having one. We had an old woodburner in the basement to heat the house and there were days when the smoke was horrid. Having a boiler outside is much nicer. No smokey smells and because it isn't in the house our insurance went down. The boiler also holds larger pieces of wood and we don't have to put wood in the basement so the dust from that is down too. We use ours to heat the water for the house in the winter. It sure gets hot quick. I would like to get it where it helps cool the house in the summer. Our house stays fairly cool most of the time anyways.

TeresaK. that is a lovely quilt. I have a lot of other ones to do first.Maybe less time on the computer would help. LOL

My sewing machine is calling. I will check back in later. Have a good day.

I got the call from the quilt shop and I am in for the free class on Saturday - I just have to stop by the store and buy the pattern and the kit or supply my own cut fabric. For the sake of money, I'll supply my own fabric, but started wondering how expensive was the pattern?? I got online and there were several Judy Niemeyer patterns on their site from $12 - $60!! So I called back to see which pattern needed to be purchased. It is $18, so I will go ahead, but I would have to back out if it was the $60 pattern!

Good afternoon from warm, sunny, Sw. Pa...We are having a gorgeous fall day, couldn't be much better.....
Yesterday my sister had a doctor's appointment and I HAD to go with her...It's about an hour west of us and the trees were so darn pretty...Jim and I really do have to take a ride to the mountains before too long.....And speaking of Jim, guess who's outside mowing the grass???? Yep, again!

You gals are really a talkative bunch today....After reading all the posts, I can't stay too long so won't be able to "gab" to each of you....But, you know those prayers and special thoughts are on the way to those who are in need.....In fact, I normally include everyone from the forum in those prayers...We can always use an extra prayer....

I really need to get outside and take care of some plants and bring in the ones that need to be inside...I have a feeling I'll be fighting with the stink bugs, they have a habit of burrowing into the soil of my potted plants and then surprising us in the middle of winter or as soon as they get into the house....
Judi, we've had our furnace on for at least a week...Jim is now the cold one and is constantly turning up the dial....One more reason to be in Florida for the winter......

Well, gotta scoot....You all have a great day...................

Suzette I have a friend who has a cottage on the lake in hillsdale...we are a couple of hours away,, but still not a bad drive...

Maryz..I have to sit upright for at least 30 minutes and not have anything to eat or drink. So morning seems like as good a time as any. I doubt I would be able to sleep with the aching joints...but it goes away by the evening,,,it is just bad mid morning and afternoon...I tried to take a nap but no go today....I am fine just whiney!!!!

We use our fireplace to heat t he house up on chilly days,,,and I baked bread this morning too. so house is toasty,,,my sewing room is cold though....I will let the fire die down now and might start it up again in the evening,,,,we have a lot of firewood and 2 more trees are coming down for seasoning.,,,,My Sis's neighbor wants 2 taken out and the guys love free wood. right now I have enough seasoned wood for 2 winters, our boiler is gas fired,,,but would love to have a wood fired boiler outside too.

Hi All

Well Im back from the DR's Im not able to kick the boot to the curb yet I still cant apply any pressure for two weeks but I don't have to wear it to bed and now at least when I shower I don't have to cover my foot anymore and I can take it off and try to wiggle my foot so at least that is something .

When I went to the office today the receptionist asked if I had an appointment I said yes she told me my DR wasn't there he had emergency surgery he had broke his hip so she saw I was getting upset so she went and asked the DR that was covering and he said yes so at least I didn't have to go back another day so here I am again.

Well I Hope Everyone Is Having a Good Day.

Good afternoon!

Boy has the day got away from me! Been busy with little grands - sewing is involved and I have more still to do. Knees - pants - boys - need I say more! LOL I have quite a few pairs to mend.

As I look across the valley at my mountains - snow is falling on their tops. It is getting to be a good snow pack for water next year and we need that. The clouds to my north view are just beautiful white puffy ones.

I have dealt with AARP insurance. FIL has the one with United Healthcare - we seem to have no problems with it, except that the new doctor might not take it - we will have to see. My Mom, many years ago, had a supplement policy with AARP for hospitalization - paid us $80 a day while she was in a hospital. Any time that we put in a claim, it was paid quickly. But like I said many years ago - she passed away in 2000. Our supplement is with our company - used to be very good as long as we stayed in the State of California - the out of state coverage is good, but not quite what we had before.

Well these knees are fixing themselves and they need them for school tomorrow.

Have a great day
Hugs and prayers
Jana

Karlene, I can't even imagine a pattern costing $60 for 1 pattern! Geesh! Happy your class is the $18 pattern :o)

Can anybody help me out? Holly wants a "nursing coverup" does anybody know what they are, or have a pattern for 1 or can help me with giving instructions?

Mom and Dad are in Corbin, Kentucky, they couldn't make Virginia tonight, they had to pay $49 for the night.....they were kinda shocked but had no choice, Mom couldn't drive any further.

Tina,

I know what they are and they are simplle to make. As soon as Sarah is back I will pm you the directions. One might be on pinerest too. So you can see it. They use fabric and boning so that mom can look down through it as baby is feeding. No one else can see anything.
