Monday, October 14
Good morning everyone.
Well, my open season for insurance started today. I looked online and my insurance will go up almost $200 a month. Even with being treated for Breast Cancer my family can't be spending that much. This is awful. I will probably have to get a full time job after I am finished with treatment for my cancer. Just so things are not so tight. At least I have a job. I didn't get any sewing done yesterday but we had a wonderful visit with hubby's family for his birthday. Have a wonderful day.

Good morning Suzette and Lois.
Suz-It is time for me to review my insurance as well. I am afraid to open the pkg. for fear of it having a huge increase like yours. If mine jumps that much I don't know what I'll do. Continued prayers for you.
Lois-Prayers for you that the healing process for your ankle has gone well.
I was busy all weekend and never got here. I need to go see what all is happening. Hope everyone has a marvelous day. Prayers for all. May God's blessings be with each of you today.

Just popping in quick to say Goodmorning and hello. Watching the morning news and reports of frost advisory etc. Brrrrr! Don't like the really cold weather. I am so thankful that we will be heading to Texas soon.
Nothing much going on here today. Grocery shopping is about all I have on my list. Sure hope your insurance issues turn out. This is the time of the year when we find out how much our premium goes up for the new year too. It always goes up, question is how much. Hard part is: as retired people, we do not get any pay raise. We get a monthly benefit and that is that. If costs go up, you pinch tighter and find ways to cut back. It's no fun. I have recalculated our budget every year and don't know any more ways to cut back.
We used to get a Social Security increase each year, but our wonderful politicians have distroyed that. If we get an increase of Social Security Benefit of $20 a month, our insurance will increase about $40 a month, so we end up with a decrease in pay, instead of an increase. That's just the way it goes, year after year.
Well, after that, now I wish you all a great day, great week.

Suzette, sorry to hear you are having problems with your insurance. Surely everything will work out---we are taken care of.
Mary, we had a busy, nasty weekend too. Seems like most everything went wrong at this house. When will it every end???
Lois, good luck at the Drs. Hope your ankle is healing.
It is cloudy and drab outside this morning-sort of matches my mood. We didn't sleep much last night and have wakened tired, grumpy and hoping for a better day. Sorry, just in a bad mood....

Good Foggy Morning....
The sun will be burning that off later. I want to go out to day but not anywhere to spend $$$$...lol
I might make cookies for the young man that cuts my grass. He does such a good job but doesn't charge much. Other than that it's my SIL quilt.
I need to choose a Part D for medicare. How do I ever decide. It's a part time project or I'm over thinking it.
Suzette....Good luck with you Ins. Happy to hear the celebration was fun.
Lois....I'm guessing you'll be Hexing today. Happy sewing.
Mary/rosebud....Have a wonderful day. We just can't get away from Ins now with the ACA every where we look.
Love & Prayers to all in need.....Kathy
PS....I'm going to post the muffin recipe now.

Good Morning, It is sunny and bright here,,,but cold Ken has not worked on the boiler yet to get it going for the year...LOL it will get done when he gets cold...Or when he sees me cooking breakfast with gloves on...Seriously it is not that cold yet, I see the Dr this week to get clearance for doing those windows.I am so far behind this year. I did do a little Christmas shopping this weekend at bRONNER's Christmas shop. I bought me a Jim Shore Nativity. It is only 4 pieces Jesus, Mary, Joseph, and the stable. but it has quilty designs all over it,,,I love Jim Shore.
Today I will go over and sit with Sophia. DD will go on a field trip with Liam. No siblings allowed...She will be so mad. but maybe we can bake bread or something
I will head down to annebelle when I get home...still need to finish a birthday quilt then on to more Pinks. The blocks I have been getting are so pretty. my house needs a good cleaning but maybe tomorrow I will start the light stuff.
Hope you all have a great day...hugs and love and prayers,,XXXOOO

Re: Monday, October 14
Good morning.
I had the best Sunday ever.. my parents came back from their trip so we went to see them and I also got to see my son... I think I've mentioned him...lol... we all visited for a few hours then my son took Mar and I to dinner.. Jerry was home and my parents needed to go see her parents...it was a wonderful afternoon with my kids.. it is truly great to be me...
Kathy, I love two color quilts... your blue and white will be gorgeous... Dh's grandma made a drunkards path kind of a greenish light teal and white.. I am in awe of it...
Sharona.. you're welcome for the caffine enema for your nose... any time... I am so glad you had fun with the inlaws...oops, I guess I did forget to do the math to count the cannon blasts.. such a dork.
Maryz.. I wish Grandma would get a job, then her conversation topics would increase.. she has 4 topics now...happy b-day to dgs.. silverware is a great gift.. I would pull all the leftovers out of the fridge and call it a serve and heat yourself buffet..
Maryq.. I think the skunk is gone.. Jerry thinks the pellet in the tush was just the sting he needed to stay away, but we will see.. sorry your roomie is so messy....don't you get to have your kids this week?
Chickie... I sure wish I had your pecan tree... I prefer walnuts or almonds but DH loves pecans..
Scrappy Pat... glad you're getting your rest... I did get the clock.. it had to be digital and have large numbers and be easy to set and, and, and...lol... it's always some kind of issue where grandma is concerned...she will never be happy...I have learned to give her a few solutions to her problem and when she says no to each I tell her that I am sorry I can't help...then she picks one of my solutions.. I think my fixing something takes away her chance to complain...
Joanne, I was going to come back as one of O'Dorothy's cats in my next life but I really think I would rather be a pringle... sounds like a great family get together.
Tina.. glad Jaz is feeling better... Jerry would use a real gun on the skunk but they are put away for now..don't want Mar telling anyone.. that grandpa shot anything...
Izzy, glad you're home.. it's always fun to go but great to be home.
Karon, sorry your energy is low, hope you feel better soon.
Judi, what fun you had... seems like your time away went by so fast.
Sandy, an elf on a shelf sounds like a cute quilt.. hope there will be pictures.
Suzette, I have to take care of my grandma's insurance stuff today too...she is the surviving spouse of a county worker and the county is no longer handling insurance... blue cross is too costly so she has to pick a private insurance. it should save her quite a bit...hope you find what you're looking for.
Lois.. hope they tell you you can dance the jig and your ankle is all better...
MaryRose..where I work they give us discounts on our insurance but we have to jump through hoops to get them.. I need to have a screening of some kind and will get the discount.. always something...
Tess... do I have to sing... the sun will come out tomorrow, bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow thery'll be sun.. tomorrow, tomorrow.. etc.
Kathy, I think cookies are a wonderful idea for the lawn mower person.. what a great treat.
Judi, I love Jim Shore too.. I have some of his angels.. and I saw that he has some thimbles that are really pretty...I can imagine if your windows could talk they would hold a meeting wondering what is wrong..one will ask has she washed you yet.. no? me either... wonder where she is.. those window meetings can really get rowdy, hope you get to wash them soon...lol
and lucky me, it's time to go to work..
you all have a superb day,
Chriss

Re: Monday, October 14
Good Morning!
SUZ - we were exploring my insurance options yesterday, too. Under the new plan, my premiums will go from $360/mo to $680/mo. And my deductible from $4,000 to $6,000. Plus, they cover less. And this is the CHEAP option in Regence. So we are exploring other insurances. Odd how the premiums go up so high and so often but income, retirements, and benefits don't.
LOIS - I know we're all anxious to hear what your doctor has to say. But I'll say a prayer! We want you healed!
MARY R - I wish you luck on the insurance! People that don't work get it for free or for a huge discount. People that do work can't make enough to pay for it. Does this make sense to anybody??
VELDA - I think we'll all be in the same boat, Velda. Frustrating!
TESS - sounds like your weekend was like our summer. We had five major repairs or projects going on at once, starting with a new roof. What an expensive summer! Thank goodness it's all done now.
KATHY - happy researching! DH spent 3 months researching options before he finally settled on one. Half his fun in life is researching things. If you want any of his info, he's a walking encylopedia now and always happy to share!
JUDI - so sorry to hear of your friend's diagnosis. We'll put her on our list! I know Cindy G is a big Jim Shore fan, too. Any chance we can see a photo of your new Nativity? Go easy on those windows. You are setting a bad example by washing them! lol!!
Last night our company treated us to dinner!
) At a seafood restaurant.
( It was nice to go out though and not have to cook or do dishes. This morning, I think it will be laundry. Not sure what we'll do this afternoon. I did get about 30 min of sewing in yesterday. I'm working on a piano key border for my 30's quilt. Slow going when the strips are cut to 1-1/4" width!
My advice for today? Go play in the cotton!

Good morning!
Chriss, what an imagination you have...rowdy window meetings!!!!
Tess,it's okay to be in a bad mood once in a while but tomorrow it's out of the question you gotta get back in the swing of things...life is too precious.
Suzette, I have one more year before signing up for medicare and currently I have no insurance. I'll take me year to understand it and then they'll change the rules before I sign up. Isn't it Cindyg that says that growing old isn't for sissies?
We had a very nice dinner at LONESTAR to celebrate Tom's birthday then we came home to cheesecake with cherries on top and his gifts.
He'll be looking pretty sharp with his new clothes.
I guess I'll play catch up with my wip's, don't know what else is on the agenda...DH hasn't told me yet. I did get a call saying not to forget the applique meeting today...once a month 10-2...hmmmmm.
Okay, gotta start the uglies...not!!! lol
Love,
Lucie
