October 13th, 2013
Good morning Pals - I do believe I got the date right today. Funny how so many missed it and I did it twice. Oh I am giggling. For some reason it is taking me a while to remember it is October. Maybe my mind is thinking I need more time ... which I do!!!
Yesterday was a half wash. I did get the kitchen cleaned after Rob fixed the leaking faucet and I did get the living room picked up and vacummed. My friend, Cindy came over and agreed with me on a panto to use and I did get 16 Braid Block finished and on the wall.
I also made 2 October Lotto blocks and the pictures are posted on Facebook. I will post them here later today when I can see straight. I think I was in a partial slump after pruning the bushes out front on Friday only to go around to start on the front of them (street side) and see they were covered in mud. Time will tell if they can be saved.
Received wonderful news. Remember I told you that Evan and Courtney were coming for Christmas. I have been holding my breath and not wanting to get excited until he told me he bought his ticket. Well HE BOUGHT IT. Now I ask for your prayers that the weather will actually hold and he will be able to come. Arrival date is on the 15th of December and will be stayign till the 19th. Flying out of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Today will be quiet and sewing and that is pretty much it for me.
Hope you all have a Blessed Day. I am tired and finally off to bed.
HUGE HUGS!!!

Good Morning Everyone
The wind has not stopped blowing for
the past 5 days and nights. That is all
we heard all night. Cant wait until
it stops blowing. It has a tendency to
wake me up during the night.
I can't wait to have that cup of coffee I
smell it cooking.
After not having a good nights sleep I am already
thinking how tired I will be all day. Maybe a nap
in the middle of the day.
Have a wonderful day everyone
Hope there is some sewing in your plans.

Good Morning,
Well I slept some last night not getting up to go potty so much I limited my self to the liquids yesterday but I was not in the mood to get in and out of bed with the walker and make all that racket.
Today I will read some of my magazines and watch tv my cake came out really good it was a layer cake it amazing what you can do with a little help my DH is doing thing he hasn't done before like helping me bake a cake cleaning the entire bathroom and so on but he never complains so I guess he is a keeper.
Well I Hope Everyone Has A Great Day.
Prayers Go Out To All In Need.

Good morning
)
Jaz is doing much better
) her antibiotics have kicked in. She actually had 2 things going on....1 was a tummy bug and the other was an infection; her throat was really red. She had a hard day today....1 of her ear rings was stuck so it took me and DH holding her while DD took it out. Then she's been trying to pull her tooth but cries and then her antibiotic doesn't taste good so she was a drama queen about it and cried there too. I hated to see her go home but was relieved at the same time. I'm sure alot of it had to do with her not feeling good. I am so glad we've been able to keep her fever down though.....we ended up in the ER yesterday because she was 103.4 and I just couldn't get it to go down and stay down, the ER Doc wanted it to be under 99 after all was said and done. He started her on her medicine right there and that made a huge difference in today
)
We went and bought a ton of pellets today for our pellet stove so we should be good for awhile. We'll need another ton though to get us through the winter. We haven't had to turn on any heat yet but I'm sure that won't last much longer.
I slept till 2:52 and that was that
( I have so much on my mind so I gave up after an hour of hoping for more sleep.
Teresa, glad your Christmas plans are more final now
)
Dolores, I hope you get your nap in today. I sure would like one too
)
Lois, so happy your DH is helping you
) yep he sounds like a keeper for sure
)
Well I think I'll go walk around the house. Maybe wake the dogs up and let them out and then see if I can get any more sleep.....I feel cruddy.
I hope you all have a wonderful day! Prayers for those in need.

Good morning everyone.
I didn't get any sewing done yesterday. I was cleaning extra hard for our company today. Hubby's family is coming to celebrate his birthday. Are any of you watching Cedar Cove? I just watched the season finale. It is coming back on for a second season next year. I love it! Last night's episode was great. Today I have to make an applesauce cake for hubby's birthday and then clean the kitchen. I hadn't mopped the floor because it has been raining. It stopped yesterday afternoon but guess what started during the night?? Oh well. Have a great day.

Hello everybody!! Have a great Sunday!
Suzette: Yes I am following Cedar Cove. I recorded it. Will be watching the episode this afternoon. I love it too. I am glad to hear that it will be back. I wish it didn't have to end so soon.
Teresa: I am very happy for your Christmas plans. I hope the weather will stay good and everyone's travel is safe.
Dolores: Enjoy an afternoon nap. It will really help.
Lois: It's great to have a DH that is so helpful. I agree, he must be a KEEPER!!!
Tina: Hope your little "Jaz" is feeling better now. What an ordeal you have been through.
My DH and I went out fishing in the afternoon after the morning rain. It stayed cloudy and we ate our big meal of the day at noon, so we just decided to go and enjoy a cloudy afternoon fishing. It was the best bass fishing day for DH of the whole season. He had a ball!!! I had fun too, but I only caught one bass. I used the smaller rod and bait and was quite lucky with catching the crappie and white bass again. When we got back from fishing it was time to get something to eat for supper, so we just went up town and got a sandwich instead of cooking up something.
We only have about 4 more fishing days left, then it will be time to put the boat away for winter. Boo Hoo. But at least we are ending our season on a good note.
We will be heading up to visit our son and daughter-in-law next weekend. Have to get blood tests for myself and DH. Then our nephew has a huge fall party every year and that will be Saturday night. That will be fun, because we will get to see lots of relatives before we leave for Texas. Looking forward to that.
Gotta go get my coffee, now. BBL

Good morning,
Walked out with 2 totes full of books at the sale yesterday. I buy fiction and Dh likes non fiction. I bought books by Sandra Brown,James Patterson, Sue Grafton-more of her alphabet series,John Grisham and DeMille. I'm trying out a new author (to me)... Carla Neggers. Paperbacks and hardcover...10.75!
Later today we're taking DS out to dinner for his 35th birthday. I was gonna put a roast in the crockpot but decided since the granddaughters aren't coming we'd just go out...maybe Lonestar Steakhouse?
Teresa, is this your son you haven't seen in a long time?
Sharona, she's my only sister. I'm the oldest then my sis and my brother came last...he's a jewel!
Jules, how are you holding up? Have the girls tied you up yet? Remembering an I Love Lucy episode...babysitting the twin boys
Tina, I hate it when the little ones get sick. Drew had a cold a few weeks ago and it was the pits...such a sad snotty face.
Velda, you really do get into the fishing spirit, don't you? It's nice you and your DH can do something together.
Well my quilty friends, I need to do some uglies before son gets here later today. DH and I used to call Tom,son when he was little. His sisters heard it and started calling him "son". Where's son, mom?
Coffee is ready!!!
Love, Lucie

Re: October 13th, 2013
Good morning.. happy Sunday.
today after church we go buy grandma a new alarm clock.. it has to have big numbers and be easy to reset... Iwill make sure it also has a battery back up..
sometimes I get this feeling in my nose that a zillion pins are jabbing it.. it comes and goes and I just wish it would go...I don't like it.. maybe I need a nose doctor?
O'Dorothy, so??? are you going to the lacrosse game? that puppy sure could use a lap...
Jana.. I vote for the geese.. I love the 30's fabric..
Sharona, hope church is wonderful.. I am glad this life is to your liking... but I bet it was odd to hear 37 cannon blasts in such a short period of time...
Teresa, glad the kids are coming for Christmas... will all your kids get to come or just Courtney... what fun it will be to have a noisy Christmas dinner with lots of chatter..
Dolores, a nap can sure re-charge the batteries...
Lois, it's a blessing to have a helpful DH...
Tina.. my son used to get sick often, usually bronchitis...but Marilyn never gets sick... sorry Jaz had such a rough time, but thankful that she's feeling better.
Suzette, there is so little on tv that is watchable.. I will have to check on cedar cove... hope DH has a great b-day...
Velda, have a great time with the kids.. sounds like fun.
Lucie.. funny how so many things in life can relate to I love Lucy...love that everyone called your son son... cute.
Jerry is on a mission this morning.. well really he's been on a mission lately.. trying to get rid of a skunk.. seems this little skunk found the cats food and has decided to make it his new stomping grounds...so here's Jerry, in a big thick robe with slippers and a knit cap and a pellet pistol... waiting, with coffee in one hand and the pistol in the other, for this skunk to come have breakfast...
I have to say that when the skunk hears or sees us he runs and his tail is straight up in the air.. he really is pretty..nice and fluffy looking, but I don't want to be anywhere near that stinky thing
so while Sharona is going to lunches, and Velda is enjoying fishing, and Jules is playing around with two little girls, I am holed up in the house praying the skunk doesn't spray....lol
hope you all have a blessed day..

Good Sunny Morning...,.
I'm looking forward to my breakfast today. I made some Hardy Oatmeal(remember what we said about oatmeal making things 'healthy' therefore good for us?LOL)Cranberry Muffins yesterday & I love them. I'll post the recipe in the recipe spot later.
After pushing the vac around a little it will be a quilting day. I wonder if I can finish SIL quilt today? I must apply myself. I think Chris asked what his quilt was. It's a kit I bought at an upstate NY show because I liked the sample they had hanging. It navy & white, 4" blocks surrounded by white. All the quilting id on the bias which is hard to mark.
Teresa....How wonderful you have "real" Christmas plans already! I'm happy for you! I'm with you today quite & sewing.
Dolores....Sorry about the wind keeping you up. Enjoy your nap.
Lois.....how is the pain in your foot? My DD1 is still complaining about it. She's using a cane. Any man that helps & cleans is a keeper.
Tina....Good news that Jaz is better! Poor little pumpkin being sick with 2 things at the same time. Pellet stoves are very popular here. All winter I can smell smoke when I'm outside.
Suzette....Happy Celebration to you DH today. Enjoy your party. I'm liking Ceder Cove....I'll watch it today.
Velda.....you have the happiest fish, I'm sure. They'll be surprised when you catch they for eating. Enjoy your last 4 days.
Lucie....good for you! I love book sales. I wonder if the library here has one...must call. Happy Birthday to your DG, enjoy diner.
Love & prayers to all in need................Kathy

Re: October 13th, 2013
Good morning!
Teresa - I am so excited for your son's visit! I'll be praying for it. How un-fun to have a leaky faucet - but how wonderful that your DH can fix it!
Dolores - I'm always amazed at ya'll who can function before coffee. Sure hope you get to take a nap today and that the darn wind stops blowing.
Lois - glad your cake came out ok, and even more happy that your DH is such a trooper. I hope you get the boot off soon.
Tina - so glad that Jaz is doing better. I sure don't like this new kick of not giving antibiotics until someone is near death's door. I know they over-perscribed in the past, but for Pete's sake don't try to make up for it by not giving it when needed. A couple of years ago, I had bronchitis. The doctor said NOPE no antibiotics for you because it was bacterial I guess. It was awful, and I didn't start feeling better until they perscribed an antibiotic for a sinus infection I didn't have. OH WELL! Sure hope you get all your pellets stored away before the snow flies. Now you need to go take a nap too!
Suzette - I hope your cleaning is done. I also love Cedar Cove! I recorded and watched it last night. When they said it was returning in 2014, it seemed like forever until I realized we're almost to the middle of October HB to your DH in case I miss/forget to say it on his actual day.
Velda - I can almost read about your fishing exploits. Me, I dislike fish so much that I don't even get near streams/lakes/rivers because I can smell the fish.
I'm glad you and your DH both love it so much and are so good at it! Your fall festival sounds like a blast.
Lucie - HB to your DS! I love your 'son' story - kids are so darn cute. You made out like a bandit at the book sale!
Chriss - thanks again for the coffee up the nose. I nearly lost it when I envisioned Jerry sitting on the back porch in his hunting gear. All he needs now is a corncob pipe! Sure hope you get rid of that skunk. EUGH Good luck finding your grandma the perfect alarm clock. Oh, and for full disclosure, they only fired it once for each scoring event, so maybe seven times in all. But still...!
Kathy - so Kim is up walking now? Wonderful! Can't wait to get the recipe for your healthy breakfast. Have a wonderful time sewing today.
No sewing for me for quite awhile - all my sewing stuff is sequestered in one of the bays of the garage. I think we have a contractor lined up to build the out building - yay! Yesterday, my DBIL/DSIL came over from Colorado Springs for a visit - it's the best time we've had in 35 years. After giving it a lot of thought, I guess what has changed is ME - I must have really been one cranky, uptight witch. Guido (the cat) is really feeling his oats now - he's exploring the entire house. We really thought we were going to have to put him down last week. Double yay!! Have a blessed and wonderful day. xoxo Sharona
