Supper club, Oct, 11, Friday, right???

Post by Irishgram » Fri Oct 11, 2013 7:18 am

Here it is afternoon and no one at the table...I feel so lonely! And along with lonely, it's a dreary day, rainy, kind of day, you want to curl up with a cup of tea/coffee and not worry about the rest of the world.....

But, some things have to be done, like eating, right....I have a feeling Mary is with her company and hopefully enjoying herself, which we know she will....
And now back to the eating....Jim went to visit with a friend and will be picking up pizza on his way home...But, I'll do my part, when he's ready to come home, I have to call and order it....

So what's happening or not happening in your kitchen today?

Happy eating.................

Good Evening Irish and the others......when they arrive..... that weather man was so right.....the temps have dropped right down....and so quickly too......very humid at the beginning of the week.....and here we are now shivering and looking out for the hot water bottle for bed........

With all that has been going on in my neck of the woods....forgot Sir was of this week end on the "lads week end" to Spain....got him off this afternoon.....and NO cooking for me.....but have got a small chicken for the Slow Cooker tomorrow.....I'm going to Monmouth....a small town in Wales that has a very nice little Quilt Shop.....so hopefully will come back to the lovely aroma of Chicken Chasseur
just had a bowl of Leek and Potato Soup and a crusty roll.....now back to my knitting.....take care

You all sound so "snuggley"! We have a beautiful, sunny 75 deg. day! And tomorrow promises to be the same..just perfect for our "Pringle Mingle" outdoor dinner! Yippppeeee!

Tonight will be something light...probably soup and a sandwich. Then off to watch the homecoming parade. Spiro will be open late tonight, so we will go there when the football game is over for dessert.

I'm late!! I'm late!! I'm late for a very important date! Supper Club!! I was, indeed, with Bob & Betsy. And they brought a cinnamon roll from one of their favorite restaurants. and that single cinnamon roll was breakfast for all of us, but it should have fed 2 more. I know the dogs were willing, but I was not! lol!! Now, Bob and Betsy are heading for Portland, and Curt and Carol are coming up I-5, just passed Portland! They probably could have waved to each other.

IRISH - you are right! This has really been a popular year for us! Normally, we don't even get "coffee visitors", but we will have had 2 months worth of company between end of April and end of October this year. I'm starting to wear a little thin around the edges. (but not in the middle!! haha!)

So tonite, supper is going to be leftover pork roast shredded for BBQ pork sandwiches. I'm going to make a fruit salad and we'll have sliced tomatoes and apple cake for afters. I guess I better get busy and start planning something for tomorrow, too, because of this couple, Carol has Alzheimers and has forgotten how to cook, and Curt visits people so he won't have to cook! If you need me, I'll be in the kitchen, probably with my head in the oven! lol!! - no, it's not really that bad. But coming up with decent food and not the stuff I put in from of my patient DH, every night for two weeks will be challenging.
