design board

Post by Ragdolls » Thu Oct 10, 2013 8:57 am

Does anyone remember the material El used for her design board that her son helped her build? I had the material written down but cannot find it. I love the way the material sticks to it without pins or needles.

Headliner fabric, like the fabric used on the inside roof of your car. It is a bit pricey but very material "attractive". For a temporary option, a flannel sheet will work as will a flannel backed tablecloth. The better the tablecloth, the better the fabric sticks.

Thank you I knew it had something to do with a vehicle but could not think of it at all. I will try a flannel sheet until I can get the headliner fabric. Thanks again!

My flannel backed vinyl tablecloth works fine as a design wall, BUT the little threads that stick to it are almost impossible to get off. Does anyone know if it is easier to remove them from the headliner fabric? I would be willing to foot the expense if it is! I notice in the webinars that the headliner fabric on the QIAD design wall seems clean.

I use a 6'x6' piece of felt on my wall that works just fine. And you can use a lint roller on it to get the threads off. I simply tacked it up with push pins.

gmaann,
I would think the lint roller would work or in the tip thread someone said a new toilet bowl brush worked for cleaning threads on the carpet. Wonder if that would work too?
I'm sure the headliner fabric is wonderful, just a little pricey. My flannel sheet is hung with push pins too and works fine.
