MaryRosebud, Judi and Traci - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
Teresa - you are busy with just the quilts you are making not to mention all your other stuff. Makes me kinda glad I have to come to work every day.....sounds easier.
Vicky - I'm anxious to hear about what the midwife says.
MaryRosebud - it's your birthday today and you are baking a cake for someone else. LOL
Suzette - when your mind is heavy it affects your whole body. Enjoy spending time with your son today.
Izzy - Cowdays is some kind of fair? When I finish here I'll go read your poem.
Judi - glad the doctor says you are healing well. You might as well milk it for all it's worth while you can. It will do Ken good. LOL
Chriss - I enjoy coming to work - saves me from being a haus frau! LOL And keeps me in cotton money. And machine money. Etc. What do they do at the sweet potato festival - cook up sweet potatoes in a million different ways and everybody samples them?
Kathy - I'm sick of all the violence, too. Gosh, we can't even feel safe going out to dinner anymore for fear some lunatic will walk in and start shooting.
Maryz - Don didn't soda blast inside the garage. He did some out in the yard and then decided his compressor wasn't powerful enough so he went to his workplace and used the big compressor. Worked great. Those pieces are smooth as a baby's butt.
Well, I was going to go to Vicki's after work today so that I could quilt my RV quilt but I've decided not to go. They are predicting storms, heavy rains and flooding thru tomorrow afternoon and I just don't want to drive in that mess, especially when it's flooding. I want to stay home so I can look out the windows and see God watering my grass. I can't remember the last time it's rained at my house. It's rained at Sue's and Vicki's but not at my house. I'm going into my sewing hole and open the blinds and watch the rain.
I hope we can all fondle fabric today.

Good Morning,
TERESA - You sound pretty busy! I'm impatient to get those Christmas blocks and start laying them out!
VICKY - You know we're all getting pretty excited!
MARY R - how nice of you to make your friend's DD's cake! Can it be white with chocolate frosting, please?
SUZ - congrats on those tickets!! I hope you enjoy concerts! Have fun today with your son. You're right - these days are fleeting.
IZZY - happy anniversary! Did I read a day or two ago that it's your 27th?
JUDI - this will teach Ken to keep a closer eye on you! lol!! Sounds like you are being treated like a queen for your birthday! You've got a great family!
CHRISS - gotta say - I'm rooting for the Sweet Potato Festival and the dunking booth specifically. Opportunities such as this are not to be missed!
KATHY - I got to see two plays in NYC in 1990 - Cats and Phantom. I saw Le Miz here in Seattle. Have to say, I'm sure it was a great play, but I didn't like it. Too depressing. Do you love your new chair? I would like to get one for myself, but our house is already so stuffed with furniture. We bought a whole roomful about 5 yrs ago. It's very pretty, makes the room pop, but is so uncomfortable I'm wiggling around all evening long.
KARLENE - glad you are able to de-uglify that quilt. I've found stripes to work great for borders, sashings, and even bindings when there's a hodge-podge of color in the quilt. And even when there's not!
VELDA - I thought you just got your RV repairs done. You have more?? Your outing at the lake sounds nice, but wish you had a different reason for it.
CINDY - I hope you get all the rain you're promised! and I think it's wise to stay home. Even our news is talking about your predicted storm. Will it reach Austin, do you think???
My massage yesterday was marvelous! More like P.T. really. I do feel a lot better with the leg. I've got 4 more weekly appts in the next month. I should be dancing a jig this time next month! But i'd rather be sewing!!!
Scottie report: He slept through the night!! GOOD Dog! We woke up in the morning and hurriedly checked on him. he was fin, but he did a good job when we rushed him outside. And yesterday he went to the door and whined to go out - which Bill did quickly. Our little boy is growing up! Makes me think of that old Bobby Goldsboro song, "Watching Scottie Grow".
Today - I have no plan. Maybe I'll cut binding strips. Bill's 3/4 finished quilting autumn's pointsettia quilt. Soon it will be my turn.
have a great day!

Happy Birthday to all the Birthday Girls, and Happy Anniversary Izzy! Lots of celebrating today!!!
We had some more gentle showers without storms last night and early this morning—welcome, Rain! It was peaceful and lulled me into sleeping later than usual, so now I have to hurry and get around… I hope to sew some more today. I got a good start on two aprons yesterday. I thought I might try assembly line sewing on them and finish two together. They are alike.
Cindy—I hope you get some rain, but not floods.
Chriss—I vote for going to the sweet potato festival!
Have a perfect day!

Good Morning all! Not much going on here. Had to take our Beagle Pepper to the vet yesterday because of her arthritis. It turns out her leg is inflamed so she has to take an antibiotic for five days. She is only 4 years old but has arthritis in her front leg. Very unusual, but at our house we do a lot of unusual things.
Judi - Happy late birthday. 21? LOL Glad your Red Wings won. My mom was a big Red Wings fan. As long as you can "Milk your sickness" LOL
Vicky - Hope we have baby news soon.
Maryz - Glad Scottie is adjusting so quickly. The all seem to know when they are loved.
Kathy - I love the Les Miz music too. I have the DVD of the 10th anniversary concert in England and I play it often.
Izzy - Happy Anniversary today. What is the Sylvia Block? I have enough aggravation with my Dear Jane blocks and I haven't worked on them for awhile. I can't just work on one project at a time. I don't get bored that way I guess.
Irishgram - I know what you mean about getting old. It seems like every time I have a birthday something "stops working" LOL Sorry about your "potty". That is one thing about my DH. He did all of the plumbing and electrical wiring in our house. We built it ourselves 33 years ago and he taught me how to do repairs. Since he can't do them anymore with his illness I have him tell me what to do and I do it. He says I will make someone a "great husband" some day. Ha! Ha! I am such a klutz that carpet in a bathroom would be a disaster. We have linoleum in both bathrooms.
Mel - Hope your nausea and stomach flu go away soon and you feel better.
Cindyg - My computer weather says you are supposed to get over an inch of rain. I have it on my computer because of my son living in Houston. I know you need it really bad. Up here in NW Ohio every time they call for rain for us it breaks up just as it gets to the Indiana/Ohio border and we need rain here too.
Chriss - Sounds like they may be grooming you for the promotion. Hope you get it. I will keep you in my prayers.
Suzette - I am praying that all of your treatments go well for you. My DH had Chemo after his breast cancer surgery. He didn't have radiation. Every case is different. He takes Tamoxifan also and has for years. I know you will do well.
Mary/Rosebud - Happy Birthday! 21? LOL Hope your DH is helped by his hearing aids. My DH needs them but he says that he isn't spending that kind of money and find out they don't work for him. Why are men so "bull-headed"? That is the $64,000 question. Ha! Ha!
Well, better go and give pepper her medicine and get something done. Prayers for all who need them today. Have a good weekend.
Sherry

Good morning,
I recovered enough to come to work today! Sorry I didn't check back in yesterday. I pretty much laid around all day, napping the afternoon away.
Well, my nephew's baby was born yesterday morning. She is a beauty....and a chunk! LOL Thank goodness for C-sections. She weighed 9 lbs 7oz and was 21 1/4" long. Here she is--Emory Rose:

Their first child weighed 9lbs 12oz. I can't even imagine having babies that big!
I hope everyone is having a great Friday. I am anxiously awaiting the end of the day so I can go pick up DGS from daycare. I didn't have him last weekend and it feels like I haven't seen him in forever! I miss my little guy when I don't get my weekends.
Anyone have big plans for the weekend? Not much going on in these parts. Will probably empty and clean the hot tub and re-fill it. Sounds exciting, huh! LOL
Well, I better get back to work. Just wanted to pop in and share a pic of little Emory (guess I should say big Emory!). Hope to see a pic of Tia's little one before too long.
Y'all have a wonderful day. I'll check back later.
Hugs,
Mel
P.S. Happy Birthday to the birthday girls today! Happy Anniversary to Izzy and her DH!

Good morning one and all!
Today is the day that my LA is being delivered! The window for it's delivery is noon - 4pm. Michael is getting a place ready for the pallet in the garage right now. YIPPEE!!
All is set to go for the move next week with FIL - I have been filling out the papers for the new place - working with SIL to get all the numbers that I need. Lots of papers! The kids have their flights all bought and the rental truck and trailer are arranged. My poor credit card is heated to the max!
Tonight I am heading down to Matt's to "herd" the kids - the push is on to finish the painting and moving of stuff to the garage so that they can show the place to either sell or rent it out. The new house is getting shingled today. The schedule is looking for them to be in around the end of November.
So that is about it for the beautiful day here in the Mountain West. Chilly mornings now and beautiful temps in the afternoons. The rain has moved east and we won't get any for awhile. The rumor has it that it always snows on Conference weekend - that is the first weekend of October - we shall see!
Have a great day!
Hugs
Jana

MEL- congratulations to your family on Emory Rose's arrival! She's a beauty! Emory is a pretty name, but I really love the name Rose. I have often wished we had given that to Autumn for her middle name. Did little Emory have low blood sugar? I see an IV in her hand.

It's here!! All in the garage and I am sitting next to the pallet - just touching the boxes! LOL! Now I have to wait until next Friday to get to play with it - oh, the patience!
Mel - what a sweetie! My last was 10 lbs 15 oz - no c-section! Very pretty name too.
I think I might sleep in the garage too!

Cindyg: No, I guess I was just talking about the appointment issue and our plans to take it in for warranty when we make this trip. I have a tendency to jabber a bit much. I probably just got you confused. LOL

Seems we have lots of babies to celebrate this month. Congratulations to all he new Moms and Dads.

Wow, Jana....ouch is all I can say! I bet you are all kinds of excited having all those boxes just waiting to be opened and assembled, huh!
Maryz, it is a pretty name, isn't it. I wasn't too sure about it at first, but it has grown on me. She did have low blood sugar but I haven't seen any more FB posts, so I am assuming that all is okay now.
Thanks, Velda. She does have a big ol' head of hair, doesn't she!
Well, back to work...I was checking to see if there was any more baby news! LOL
Later......
