Re: Friday, September 13
I see Velda noted my email. Our house is on a hill side and should be just fine unless water gets in some how.
We are still at Tomahawk Resort, in Ontario, Canada. We leave here today, Friday the 13th, for Kansas, then Colorado. Seems to have been a good choice, since roads into Estes Park are closed due to flooding. Well, at this time you can get in and out if you use Trail Ridge Road to the Western Slope. That can be iffy this time of year due to snow.
We received an email at 11 p.m. last night from our security guy, who checks on the house. Everything is Ok at our house. He says that Estes has received over 12” of rain and still coming down. Phones are down, cell and WiFi are iffy, still have electricity for now. Also says that Lake Estes has breached causing more water problems.
I get updates from Larimer County via email and know that the City of Estes Park has shut off electric to Big Thompson Canyon(Hwy 34) which is the road we take to and from Loveland, where our RV garage is. All roads from the east, Hwy 34(Big Thompson Canyon), Hwy 36 and Hwy 7 are all closed. Hwy 34 was rebuilt after the 1976 Big Thompson flood. The engineers raised the road and said it would withstand a 500 year flood. Wrong, some of it is washed out.
Not sure how we will get up the mountain a week from now, but we have the RV to live in even if we have to park outside of the RV garage in Loveland. The garage is on high ground and there's a way to get there without crossing any rivers.
You can google Estes Park news and get two web sites for the papers, there are photos there. Also 9 News in Denver web site.
I have to jump in the shower and get ready to move this house down the road this morning.
Good day to all,
Lyn

I have more coffee and am back!
MARY Q - no one ever got to my windows. And it's good weather here, tool. Maybe you'd like to stop by ??? Name the puppy Safeway! haha!! Would you believe that I already thought of that? I still like "Lucky" because it's Friday, 13th, but I think Bill is nixing that. and yes, I LOVE Christmas! I'm one of "those people". only 103 days!!
CINDY - with all you're trying to do and you let yourself get addicted to a new habit?? I hear it only takes one time and you're hooked. I think Vicky's "Little Wicky" might be a Lucy/Desi refernce? And Judi's shoulders hurt because she had a laproscopic procedure. and to do that, they have to inflate the abdomen with air so they have room to work. which causes your shoulders to ache later. any other facts of life you need explained? lol!
JULES - so sorry you're under the weather - literally. all the damp can't be helpful! I did see a news article on a new one-time procedure that really seems to help a lot of asthma patients. It was probably on ABC World News if you want to Google it. I thought immediately of you.
LYN - I was wondering about your house. My sis was to go to a wedding in Estes this weekend. That ain't happenin'. She said there was no way to get there from the east. And with all the rain, I also was wondering if Lake Estes would hold it all. I hope all stays OK at your house.
SHARONA - I know you're in this, too! So glad your DS can work from home! What are you planning to have contractors do at your new house?

Re: Friday, September 13
Good morning! Today I’m going to Independence with a friend who is getting one of my old, refurbished sewing machines for her DGD. I still have more machines than I need but will now keep the ones I have. We are going to go to lunch after delivering the machine. I also have to get a filter for DH’s Kubota at the dealer there.
Suzette—happy layering! Plumbing problems are the pits! (No pun intended!!!)
Sharona—glad you aren’t in any flood paths—especially at your new home! It’s always good to see a house in wet weather before you make the purchase!
Cindy—what a horrible accident for Vicky’s friend! So glad she is not worse—good sign of recovery is talking business!
Jules—Take care of yourself… lots of hot tea with lemon, and some quilting magazines and videos!!!
MaryQ—I’m loving the cool, too! We are at 64 this morning, but it will be warming again tomorrow. The 10-hour days pump up your fabric budget, but you are too tired to spend it and make it…
MaryZ—happy new puppy day!!!
Chriss—congratulations to Marilyn!!! The aprons are full. My splatters are always above the waist when I’m cooking. I have four cut out and maybe I’ll make some more for sisters-in-law… two of them cook a lot. No, Edna wasn’t the tornado town. It’s a tiny town down on the Oklahoma border but still in Kansas. Some of my family lived there MANY years ago. Actually, I’m shirttail relation to one of the girls at the quilt shop.
Velda—thanks for the update on Lyn. Too bad we can’t get a couple inches of the excess there. Wonder if some of the reservoirs are filling… My BIL in Ft. Collins is always talking about the water situation and regulations there.
Vicky—So sorry to hear your plans got changed. That’s the story of my life. I’m tired of apples, too! No more room in my freezer. We did 10 gallons yesterday, but I was pretty picky and gave Timi and cow pals quite a few.
I need to get busy here or I won’t be ready when Carolyn arrives for our day out…
Have a great day!

Goood Morning MY Friends!!
I thought I would have been back to see you before this but the night before I went home I spiked a fever. I got up & out of there ASAP. Can't have my DD come down with anything else. The Lord truly helped me home, I don't know how I did it. Today is my 1st day waking fever free. The first project unpack the car. Well maybe I'll dress first.
The Kim update is the Ins has turned down the bone scan looking for more calcium deposits. And no news on the IV treatments she needs to have a chance to make it. Yesterday at the wound care Dr's he said it was time to clean off 2 of the wounds. Has to be done in operating room. Things can happen differently in the crazy wonderful land we know as the hospital. There they can order tests. So the bone scan is a go & the pick-line goes in today and they will start the treatments.
Crazy wonderful, right??? Thank you for all your prayers & thoughts.
I brought home a quilt DD made in the 80's & I'll take out what little hand quilting she did & have it machine quilted. I see the hand quilted quilts stay in the closet because of the naughty cats. This one she can use without worrying about hand stitches.
Sorry I can't respond to all.
Love & Prayers.................Kathy

Friday 13, Any bad lucks? This the day I choose to apply Mcdonald's What? Well, worth a try! Think positive!
My quild ride has moved, bus srvc for my mthly mtgs. Guess waiting for in winter frigid cold air, will clear the mind and refreshing. My cart will come in handy...Be nice to see the bus driver's expression on mthly basis again. Then, taxis srvc a bonus when affording.
You know something good is happening when bus driver asks: "What goes on at that mtg?"

Happy Friday the 13 th! It looks like it came a little early in Boulder, CO where my son lives and we just got back from! He is fine, but some of the streets we walked down from his house were flooded. Such a shame, so much water. My heart and prayers go out to all effected by this.
Back here we too had unbelievable storms yesterday. Luckily not as bad as Colorado.
I posted a couple of pictures, taken a few days ago, in much better weather, under photos if you care to look.
Hope everyone has a good day.

A quick note.....just got home from taking 2 of the dogs to the vet for their annual checkup the other two went yesterday.
Chriss, I had to chuckle your story about the egg I remember when my kids did also remember with my daughter they sent home one of the dolls that cry and all that stuff she had to write down what happen with the doll can't remember is she had it a week but think it was. The egg was easier to deal with but if they wanted to go some place they had to get a baby sitter just like real parents.
I feel so bad and am praying for all those people that are affected by the flooding in CO and other places. I watched the TV yesterday saw those cars/trucks where the road gave way. How scary that must be.
Want to Thank all of you for your prayers the hard part now is waiting until I see the Specialist not having any pain but very tired and a lot of nausea.
Everyone take care have a great weekend.

Good morning
)
Jaz got to feel Easton's head yesterday and was so excited and he already is turned down and he's dropped pretty good, she's 32 weeks today. We got to hear his heart the heartbeat too
)DD says his name will be Easton Wright Perrault
)DH just said West to tease her LOL Yea that name North West is awful! Poor kid!
Sharona, I'm not sure about Elephant Butte but we were wondering the same thing just a few minutes ago. The continental devide goes right through Boulder but we think that water will go into the Colorado.....we can hope we get some to fill the Butte though
)
Chriss, LOL yes I do....it's all grown back out now thankfully
) and she likes it long now and says she will never do that again! I sure hope not. Goofy girl she is ;o) I remember my kids doing the egg drop thing....it was cool
) they had it mastered pretty quickly, only broke a couple eggs
)
Maryz, YEAH, PUPPY DAY!!!!!!!!!!!! hehehehehehe you're gonna have fun with him
) all those puppy kisses and cuddles

Maryq, I know about those late night OT.....killers. I feel for you.
Jules, I hope you feel better soon.
Judi, slow and steady, you'll use up what little energy you store very fast. I remember when I had mine done, I thought I was doing really good till I took a shower and man did that wipe me out, DH had to dry me and help me get dressed then I was exhausted and slept for half the day. Take it easy.
Kathy, so glad that your DD will be having those tests, makes me so mad when the insurance company thinks they know more then the drs Grrrr!
Got not so good news yesterday.....my Grandma has cancer in her eye, she 92, they found it when they were doing somekind of operation on her eye last week and next week they are going back in to see about the cancer, she lives in Verginia. and my Aunt that lives in Indiana had a mass removed from her back and it was cancer, they are starting chemo Monday on her, she's my moms sister and she's 75, she's the 1 that was diagnosed with alzhiemers but really didn't have it and she just got my uncle taken off as her guardian last month and now he's filed for divorce.................soooooooo, prayers would really be appreciated....oh and my dad goes next week for a biopsy to see if he has breast cancer.....again prayers would be most appreciated.
I hope you all have a wonderful day! Prayers for those in need.

Re: Friday, September 13
Afternoon from semi sunny, much cooler, Sw. Pa....Quite a change in the temps but a good day for inside stuff....
Finally, Puppy Day has arrived! This is exciting and can't wait to hear the antics of the new furbaby.....
As happy as we are for Mary, this is going to be a sad day for Jim and I....We have a 2:30 appointment with the vet for our Kaylee..We've been putting it off but it's time we stop being selfish and let her rest in peace....It's going to be tough, especially for Jim, she was his lap warmer....
Judi, so glad to see you back...It's going to take awhile to get all that "sleepy stuff" out of your system so take those naps...I often think that's a way to keep you from overdoing....Take care and one of these days, you'll be out there doing windows....
I had a very nice 2 hour visit, by phone, with Kathy last night...She's thinking about coming this way the end of October which will be very welcome....Her DS, Dan, is moving into a new home and DD, Cari is looking to buy and she'd like to help if possible....She did tell me, she's been very busy at work, putting in long hours but she's happy....
I'm gonna scoot...Would love to stay and chat but too much on the mind.....
You all have a great day...............

Good afternoon!
The rain has held off most of the day, but it is getting towards 3 p.m., and the sky is getting dark. Prayers for all the flooding in Colorado - hope that all get home safely!
DH and the neighbor - who I am adopting! just went to the sprinkler store - I won't see them for several hours. LOL - it is like a LQS for men! He is a airline pilot - flies the big planes and I will get air flights as a bonus, as well as a yard! LOL
DH has a appointment with the assisted living place here to put the deposit on the room - we will be moving FIL by the end of this month. DH's brother will fly back with FIL - we just need to get what small amount of furniture he still has here - DS3 will do that and bring the "baby" - FIL's restored Benz. Our mechanic here will get it back into running condition - it hasn't been driven in a few years.
Well my little one just woke up from his nap - still crabby - so must cut this short - maybe be back later.
Oh yes, today is a good luck day around here - I love Friday the thirteenth's and I have a black cat as well! LOL
Hugs
