SUPPER CLUB - Wed, Sept 11

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Sep 11, 2013 3:42 am

Good Morning,

JOANNE - happy to 'see' you today! I have a bum psoas muscle. (pronounced SEW-AS). It's actually a group of 3 muscles and they run from groin across the back, and down the thigh, attaching to knee and then going down the shin. I sewed too much, and the muscle contracted from foot pedal action. Hurts like H-E-Double Hockey sticks! Pain is in the groin, across low back, front of thigh, knee, and shin. There are stretching exercises to do and pressure points that help to release the muscle but it's hard to do it all when it hurts so much. I guess it could be likened carpal tunnel in wrists - a result of repetitive action. Taxi drivers are prone to this also. Recovery is very lengthy. I'm getting better but still not willing to go back in my sewing room!

LYN - last days are always kind of sad. But you get to go HOME! That's good! Isn't it? Did you catch any 'mac & cheese'?

BECCA - actually, crawling on the floor was good for my injury - stretched those muscles!

IRISH - I got your name ideas and added them to the list! This puppy is going to have so many dog-god-mothers he won't know what to do!

JANA - made a note o Patches, too. Perry sounds like a typical cat! In the middle of whatever it is you're doing!

CAROL - chicken Korma - got it. Sounds tasty! I love curry, but my DH, not so much. It probably wouldn't fly here.

Well, no chops last night. too much trouble. I just cooked pasta, added in sliced kielbasa, black beans, sun-dried tomatoes, sliced olives, and mushrooms. Tossed it all with olive oil, basil, and parmesan. and there's enough for tonite, too. So no cooking here!

How about at your house?

Good morning!

Mary - just had to snicker at the "carni" jokes the other day! My BFF once told her daughter that she did want her around the "carni's that came to the high school each year - the school held a carnival for a fund raiser - so the young daughter looked at her mom and asked - I can't play with Sarah anymore? BFF, then had to explain! LOL

Dinner - OUT! I want chicken and was too tired to go and get it yesterday - so today is the day!

Enjoy!
Jana

Good afternoon from warm, sunny, SW. Pa....another day of warm and then we drop........

Mary, it sounds like you are really, really hurting....I'm sure the crawling around didn't help....But, just think in a couple of days, you'll have all those puppy kisses to "make it better".....

Yesterday I put chicken breasts in the crock pot, added onions, peas, cream of chicken soup and then topped it with stove top stuffing....Not sure what it was called but Jim thought it was delish...And there is always leftovers so that's going on the table tonight.....I just took some banana bars out of the oven and need to get the icing on them before someone in this house decides to sample....That will be our afters.................

Happy eating..............

Hello Ladies.Nice sunny day here.Great day to be outside.

Wow MARYz Sounds like you are in for a recovery period.Hope it heals soon.Know something like that takes time.Sure stretching would help the muscles.

CAROL Chicken Korma would not go here as we neither one like curry but sure it is delish.Sounds like you are feeding an Army.

Today is banned food along with salad & baked beans......Becca

Oh my, Irish...that chicken dish sounds wonderful!!! And banana bars...do you have a recipe you can share?? I have three VERY ripe bananas on the kitchen table waiting for me to do something with them.

Mary, your knee thing sounds painful...ugh. Sounds like you need a machine that doesn't have a foot petal! Sounds like a plan to me...

I have a visual of Lyn f..hing for mac and cheese..lol!!

Hopefully, this is our last day of +90 deg. oppressive humidity!! Last night the power went out at midnight and was off for 3 hours...so Earl and I sat out on the front porch! Boy, was it ever dark and quiet! Of course, since I sleep in one of those electric recliners, and still have not set up the battery backup, it was quite a sight me trying to get out of that chair! lol!!

Opps! Had to edit to add what we had for dinner! We went to Mama's tonight...it was Wednesday Cruise In..all the old cars and music from my teen years..we eat inside though.

Joanne

Today for dinner I made Stuffed Green Peppers. I only make them in September and it has been a number of years since I made them. They are a lot of work, but they were delicious. We also had salad and I made a rice pudding since I cooked too much rice.
