SUPPER CLUB - Wed, Sept 4th

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Sep 04, 2013 3:05 am

Today is my son-in-law's birthday. He's 45. I can't believe it! I've known him since he was about 10 yrs old.

CAROL - I see you broke Supper Club Rule #1: We never mention that four-letter "F-word" here. We say "Mac'n'cheese". You had poached mac'n'cheese for dinner last night. Because Joanne's DH, Earl, and I both hate "mac 'n' cheese' of any kind. Now REAL mac & cheese is a big old 5-star YUM!

I was thinking of making a pot of chili today, but then remembered today should be nice and tomorrow stormy. So I'm thinking pork chops on the grill, hot buttered noodles, and squash for tonite and I'll put the chili into the crockpot tomorrow morning.

What's happening in your culinary world tonite?

OK, Mary, I finally understand some of the language here.

We are going "Mac'n'Cheesing" today for Crappie. Friends are going to follow us into Blueberry Inlet. It's a narrow rocky route between two islands, and the only way in and out. Hope we find lots of packages of 'Mac'. LOL If we get some in the boat, they will go into the freezer for Texas dinners.

So, dinner will be something else. Maybe meat balls in Alfredo sauce.

Good afternoon from sunny, gorgeous, SW. Pa....Purrrfect canning weather and that's what I'm doing or attempting....

Mary, you keep saying chili and I'm going to have to make a pot full...The only thing wrong, when I make a pot, it will last forever...AND if I'd stick it in the freezer, who knows when we'd find it....That's a good dinner when Terry and his family visit....

I do have tomatoes cooking for soup and I'm working on the green ones for relish....And as far as dinner, it will be chicken patty sandwiches and tomato soup....I found another loaf of banana bread in the freezer so that's for afters along with butter pecan ice cream...Life is good (when you find hidden treasures in the freezer).....

Finding anything exciting in your freezer?????

Happy eating................

I am taking the easy way out tonight for supper. We are having Hunts Manwich, tater tots, and homemade apple dumpling. Something easy to make.

Guess it will be 20 lashes with a wet noodle for me today! So sorry for the transgression Maryz and Joanne. However the mac-n-cheese was wonderful!!

Tonight's dinner will be grilled chicken, salad, potatoes and broccoli.

It is very warm here today and I do not want to turn the oven on for any reason.

Good morning!

I am looking forward to finding treasures in my freezer - however it is too new for any to be lurking yest - we are filling up gallon jugs of water to help take up space and help it stay colder - a full freezer is more effcient - so DH tells me! LOL

Dinner - well since DH's meds are acting up in his system - he is eating chicken soup and crackers and I will be having sausage gravy and biscuits - one of my favorites - for anytime!

Enjoy

Good Evening All

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK-: ( OK THEN...HALF A WEEK....AGAIN)

ALCOHOL IS THE ANSWER.....BUT I CANT REMEMBER THE QUESTION....

Yesterday I tried several times to get on....but no luck.....thought at first....here we go again....but no....was able to get on FB....so knew my computer was behaving.....then this morning saw a lot of you had the same probs....sigh of relief......

On sunday...good intentions again....going to give them up....did my "heavy" shop from Tesco"s......left Sir in charge of stripping beds ready for washing and asked him to empty bedrooms of furniture so I could vacuum...dust and polish....got one room done and dusted....about to start the next.....loud noise outside....banging on the front door.....friends arrived with their new (to them)motor bike......it was lovely to see them and to admire their new baby....but......it was like being caught with my pants down.....anyway.....Pork was already roasting.....got a few more veggies done.....another Apple Crumble out of the freezer....chucked the rest of the furniture back(finished it on Monday)and had an unexpected rest of the day with friends.......

I have given up riding pillion....now if Sir was to come home with a Redwing or a Goldwing......they have armchairs on the back......I COULD change my mind.....

Today......we had a long....long....long traffic tailback.....yes.....the kids are back to school....and its only day one.....

and so to food.....todays menu.....Pork Chops.....Potatoes....Runner Beans.....still finishing Apple Crumble and Custard......I'm losing days somehow....keep forgetting its Wednesday today.....
