Good morning all. I am home today with DD sick day. She has shingles so keep her in prayer. I feel like bad momma. She had a break out last sunday on her face thought PMS and pimples due to her agitation. WRONG it was shingles. She has second break out on back of leg right where she sits. OUCH Unfortunately she is nonverbal so cant tell you pain or itching status. She has a very high tolerance of pain. Had 22 back surgeries as child and only took tylenol. Yeah dont I wish I had that type of tolerance. Crazy. I had migrane all day yesterday ended up staying home from church and sleeping in lazyboy beside DD lazyboy:) Feel better today but exhausted. Also explains why she is not sleeping past couple nights. Keep us in prayer that they will dry up soon and she feels better. This is second time she has had them. They say stress brings them on but she really isnt stressed. Although last sunday she went nuts over kids running around after church. She hates lil ones they make her nervous.
Well I started on dresden plates this week and have about 12 done. They are a precut package I got from a great aunt when she passed. They are in a solid teal and peach/teal fan blades. Circle is solid teal. Really pretty. I think it will be a memory quilt for my MIL who passed two years ago this sept for my DH. I will put her picture in center of one of dresdens. These were her fav colors and I really meant to make this one for her; just ran out of time.
Well headed to sew a bit; dd comfy in lazyboy so we will see how rest of day goes. Wants momma when sick not daddy:) reason Im home today.
God Bless and Happy Thoughts:)

Good morning from warm, sunny, SW. Pa...This weather just keeps getting better and better..I feel bad for the kids that had to go back to school......
Need to make this another quickie....I'm headed out the door...My doctor is insisting I come see him..I told him I was fine but he wants to see for himself, I guess...I did tell him, he owes me a lunch for my trouble...
After that, I have things to drop off at our Salvation Army store and a few other errands to take care of....Jim has gone outside to play with the mower (again)..He said, normally, this time of year, the grass is brown and doesn't need cut but not this year..He'll probably be still mowing at Thanksgiving.....
You all talking about hair color and grey...Mine is mostly grey...For years, when I worked, I used the bottle and then I thought, what the heck! This is me, grey haired, short and fluffy......
And with that, I'm off to argue with the doc about his scales...With the money he takes in, you'd think he could get them fixed.....
You all have a great day....Prayers for those in need.........

Morning Pals from the cabin in the woods. Have a lot to do today. Laundry first, then wipe down the walls in the kitchen. DH is working today, but has decided to move furniture again. Worse than a teenage girl. He doesn't realize this house is so small and we have so much, that when you move one piece out or in you usually have to arrange the whole house. Oh Well! he will get bored and quit before he gets it like he wants it. Guess who will have to finish the job?
I finished the binding on my rail fence, and now have binding to sew on my Orion's Star. UFO's are disappearing. Not fast enough.
Do something quilty today. Hugs and prayers for all.

Re: Monday, August 26th
Good morning everyone.
Suzette, I will keep you and DH in my prayers. Keep us posted.
Izzy, sure hope your DD feels better soon. I have a friend whose child is non-verbal, too. You both amaze me with your unending strength and seemingly endless supply of energy.
Chrissy1, prayers continue for Heather and Torrie.
Kim, prayers continue for you and Kim.
Judi, hope that headache eases up. Prayers that they come up with a good course of treatment for you.
Cindyg, sure do hope you feel better by this weekend so that you can enjoy your camping.
Lois, I know what you mean about the grays....it's about time for me to do the same.
Mary/Rosebud, hope you have a wonderful day at work.
Chriss, have a fab day....darned ole roof and table! I know what you mean. LOL
Maryz, you amaze me with all you do...do they put some type of "energizer" in the waters there in Gig Harbor? LOL
Jana, hope you aren't without power for too long.
Irish, hope you get a good report from the doctor. I think they must all buy there scales from the same company! LOL
SharonS, good job getting those UFOs finished. Mine just keep multiplying.
Well, I am here at work, as usual. Now that the furloughs are over and the end of the fiscal year is fast approaching, seems like we have to start worrying about being RIFed--Reduction In Force. This is the next step in the whole budget/sequestration thing. Always something to look forward to.
Guess I better get back to it. I hope you all have a wonderful day.
Hugs and prayers,
Mel

Re: Monday, August 26th
Good morning all! Not much going on here in NW Ohio. It is supposed to be really hot here this week so I did my errands yesterday. I don't need to be out in the heat with my asthma so I guess I will just have to stay in and sew all week. That is a real shame. LOL
Suzette - Hope all goes well with your biopsy. You will be in my prayers.
SharonS - I envy you getting your UFO's done. I need to go through all of mine and get some done. I keep thinking I will then I find another pattern I want to do. Rough life I guess. LOL
Irishgram - Good luck at the doctor appointment. I gave up trying to color my hair years ago. I keep it short and grey. My sons gave me every grey hair on my head and I don't want them to forget it. Ha!
Izzy - So sorry about your migraine. My dad had them and I know they can be very painful. Hope your daughter starts to feel better so. A lady at work had shingles once and said it is so painful Will keep both of you in my prayers.
Maryz - glad you got your yard work almost done. I got some of mine done Sat. but have to trim around my back fence yet.
Judi - I hope you have a good time camping and working on your hexies. I found a great pattern of a patriotic miniature wall hanging using hexies and I think I am going to do it. I have always wanted to enter the local quilt show in the Spring. They have a category for wall-hangings so I think this is a good place to start and also get used to doing hexies.
Chrissy1 - I hope the memorial tournament for your son goes well. Is it a golf tournament or what? I didn't know your son but it sounds like a wonderful way to honor him. Heather and Torrie will be in my prayers. Glad you heard from Mo. I know how nerve racking it is while our kids are in training. Am looking forward to hearing where he will be stationed after his training is done. I pray for him and all our Marines all the time. Semper Fi!!
Well, better go and get something done. Have a good day everyone. Hope you get to quilt some today.

Re: Monday, August 26th
I'm back! We only lost power for about an hour - just what I thought - the dirt arrived too - about 37 of the 100 yards that we need. We got the OSB(oriented strand board) laid on the ground and the little bobcat is trucking back and forth hauling it down here. I am sitting in my sewing studio watching him - eye level! LOL
Sarah is taking off early today and will be here after little gets up from his nap - I just put him down.
Ethan is tired! He has been running from the front of the house to watch out Grandpa's office window the little tractor loading up the dirt in the bucket and then through the house to the deck to watch the dumping of said dirt. Back and forth - wore me out!
So I get to sew now - more birds in the air blocks - 20 done - 64 to make.
Hugs
Jana

Re: Monday, August 26th
Good afternoon! I can’t believe where the time has flown… I spent three hours this morning in the yard watering, pulling a few weeds, watering, lopping tree branches, watering and finding a cantaloupe. It got so hot and dry again, so back to the watering routine. Sure was hot and humid while I was pulling hoses.
We had a great day yesterday. The family all came except for two grands who were out of town at their respective college campuses. The rest of us ate on the back deck (used the ceiling fans) ate and visited until afternoon. The DDILs cleaned up the few things in the kitchen that held the food that was served, so I could just sit and enjoy.
DD and family stayed and visited, and we picked a bouquet of flowers for them to drop off when they stopped to visit Mom. I had a phone call, and DD had left her cell phone plugged in here, so I took it to town to her and visited a bit again with Mom.
Izzy—I haven’t made ketchup, but I have a feeling that the longer you cook it, the more it will evaporate and thicken that way. Don’t keep a lid on it. What about using a crock pot or other slow cooker/roaster? I just read Jana’s reply… must be low and slow cooking…
Sorry I can’t stay and chat with everyone today. This is DH’s birthday—yesterday was the celebration, but I’ll fix steak for dinner this evening. We had a nice brunch.
Have a great rest of the day! Let the thread times roll!!!
