good morning... our internet is oddly slow today.

Sharona, your new house is amazing, but I didn't see my room...lol... looks like a beautiful place to live..

Dolores, I once took a variety of magazines to a rest home.. the lady at the counter snatched them up before I could ask if they would like them.. seems the patients like to look at the pictures.. but if they are quilt mag's I would suggest a guild or a preschool who can use the pictures to cut and paste...

Judi, great scare crow..

Marilyn's school is offering band this year and she is wanting to play an instrument.. it will be a clarinet, flute or something in that area..I think they rent them out in town... we will see...

I was on my way home from work yesterday feeling very sorry for myself, not a positive thing was going through my head and finally I said knock it off and asked Jesus to remove the awful thoughts and by the time I was half way home I was in a great mood.. so today will be another good day.. I got my calendar blocks partially cut out.. I am doing the north star from El's book that I can't remember the name of right now.. ugh... and hope to sew like a wild woman today...but first I need to un-stink myself...

you all have a positive day...I am going to try to smile all day... crazy maybe but you can't get the grumblies when you're smiling...

Morning my dear quilting friends...

For some reason the laptop is working for me today!! I'm missing my 'old fashion' computer.

Update on Kim.......yesterday we finally saw a wound care specialist.
What complex medical office that is. She has Calciphaxis. It is usually see in end stage kidney cancer BUT does not have this!! Several specialists did not want to tale her case. The Dr we have has written & presented papers on this condition. He sure is an answer to our prayers & we don't have to go into NYC.

I have to go for now. I'll try to read up on all you have been doing
later

love & Prayers.....Kathy

Good Morning Girls

HAPPY SATURDAY!!! You don't know how thrilled I am to be home today!!! What a week...long busy days at work all week and I may just stay in my jammies all day today.

Teresa... so sorry about the nightmare.. My really bad dreams usually involve my DEX! You better get those Christmas blocks done soon, you have to have them to the hostess by Sept 15th... oh wait, that's you!

Chriss... Isn't it amazing some times how God can just lift you up! I've had "sad" moments and then almost literally slapped myself in the face and remembered how blessed I am! I just think of my wonderful kids and grandbabies and I'm all better! Hope you get lots of sewing therapy this weekend.

Sharona.. Oh My Goodness that house is beautiful!!! Is your offer contingent on selling your current home? Hope everything goes well so you can move in before Christmas at least! How fun it will be to decorate for the holidays in your new home!

Maryz.... we have the same plan for sewing and doing laundry... My W/D is right down the hall from the sewing room so I can do laundry and not feel so guilty about spending a couple hours in the sewing room. Usually I do laundry on Sunday, but I have to work tomorrow so I think I'll postpone til Monday. Roommate may need Mr. Maytag today!

Dolores... I too have a pile of magazines I don't know what to with. I usually cut out and keep the patterns that I know I would be able to do... and maybe a few applique templates just in case I think I can try that someday. Oh how I would love a good old fashioned storm here, we need rain so badly!

Izzy... I can sure sympathize with your technical issues. Last November we went "paperless" and it's been one issue after another that slows things down... all the while the Pharmacists are going HURRY UP HURRY UP! Computers are only as smart as the people that program them... enough said!!!

Judi... Your little scare crow is so cute!!! Will definitely keep you in thoughts and prayers in the coming weeks..praying the Dr's come up with a wise choice of treating your bones!

Kathy...Thank You God for answered prayers!!! He certainly does put the right people in our lives at the right time!! Prayers continue for your DD that this Dr can get her all healed up!

Well girls, if I am going to get anything done on my chore list today I better get going! Went to the DR yesterday for my annual "poke & prod" and 4 vials of blood pulled out of my arm! Got my results by e-mail last night and all my blood work is spot on. I'm in the middle of all ranges they checked! Even scheduled my bone scan...Judi's got me thinkin'..

I'll be starting little by little to get some SS names out this weekend too... So be watching your mail boxes!

have a great day everyone

Morning Pals from the cabin in the woods. I've been here the last two weeks but playing nurse. Last trip to TN DH fell and bruised his bad knee. After several trips to different drs. he is much better and I'm back to the workshop quilting. That was a really bad weekend. Someone rear ended us the next day.
I've been trying to work on my UFO pile. Wish me Luck! Need to catch up on all of you.
Hugs and prayers for all!

Good morning!

The sun is shining brightly through my window at my desk - too bright! LOL Perry is curled up in the window, warming up his old bones.

Sarah will be over later today - to clean up the mess that she made in the kitchen! Well I have most of it already done - she will have some to do when she gets here.

The wedding went off - no rain - only a little spitting drops - on either side of the park, it did rain - just missed the park. The cake was a hit and everyone loved it. Sarah was a little unhappy about the cake - seems as if we missed the center of a couple of the plates, so it was slightly off - she is a perfectionist - but I am sure it was fine too. We did forget two of the separator plates that were needed, but the cardboard disks that the cake sits on, worked fine for the time that was needed. I know that there are pictures, but when I get to see them is another question. When I do, I will post one of the cake - it was one of the better ones that we did.

DH is working on the Church bulletin for tomorrow and then we will go over and get it printed and folded - then the day is mine to play.

Oh yes, made my run to Trader Joe's - boy do I wish they would add another here in the south end of the valley where I live!

Well need to scoot - another thunderstorm is rolling in - daily occurance in August -

Hugs
Jana

Cleaned out room and its ready now for her stuff. Left her a tv,vcr and night stand. usually they dont have much just clothes when they come. Facility is buying her a bed:)and hopefully a dresser. If not we will hit some yard sales to find her one.:)

I never get rid of my magazines. I love looking at them:) I organize them by subscription. THe past couple years money was tight so didnt renew. You can send them my way anytime:))

Well DD is moving about. Lunch time she is probably hungry and its potty time LOL so better scoot. Plan to swim later. Good afternoon from a gorgeous, summery day in Sw. Pa....This has the makings of a purrrfect weekend....

I have the sheets on the line and most of the uglies are done...I was trying to pull a Maryz and work in the yard but the weeds won...I might be able to talk Jim into taking care of those.....Of course there might be a football game on this afternoon and that always comes 1st....Tis the season!

Judi, sorry to hear the news and will certainly keep you in my prayers....You really do have a lot on your plate, don't you? I love, love your scarecrow...Your sister will love it....Can I ask where you found the pattern....

Chriss, I now have this visual of you, with the biggest smile, riding along in the car and the fellow next to you is really wondering what you're up too.....Keep them all guessing! Very glad to hear Mar wants to play an instrument..There have been surveys done stating, "musical" kids are the best students...And I can attest to that, all of mine and most of the grands played an instrument...But, I do want to warn you, this will be years and years of being a "band parent", endless practices, sitting through long parades (sometimes in the cold), lots and lots of fund raisers...Oh, the list goes on and on but in the end, I can honestly say, I wouldn't have missed a moment...I had 25 years of being a "band aide"...The stories I could tell......Nicky just told me, he's the only tenor sax in their HS band...His DD got a degree in music (playing alto sax) from WVU...Does it sound like I'm just a wee bit proud of my kids????But, please tell her, "It's a good thing".......

Kathy, good news about your DD...Sounds like this is the answer you've been praying for....

Well, I have a feeling the sheets are dry and I don't see anyone in the yard taking them down......

You all have a super day................

Good afternoon all! Just a quick stop in. For some reason I have got lots of ambition today. So far I have trimmed grass outdoors, cleaned the kitchen and am now working on the laundry. This doesn't happen too often. I haven't read today's stuff, but just wanted to tell Sharona I liked the pictures of your house. I see many possibilities for sewing rooms. The scenery is beautiful. You will love living in the country - I sure do. Well, better go get me some lunch then back to uglies before I lose my ambition.

Will write more next time. Have a good weekend everyone. Hope you get to have some time for sewing. Prayers for all of you.

Sherry

63 quarts of peaches 132 total! We are DONE canning for today. I have 1/2 a bushel of peaches left to share with neighbors and to eat. My feet are swollen and my back is killing me but... those peach are going to be tasty this winter :-) time for a nap.
