Re: Thursday, August 15
Good morning! Yesterday was a productive day—DH went to town and worked, and I stayed home… laundry, weeding and sewing. I have the rows made for my pinwheel quilt and started sewing them together. Hope to complete them today. The fish last night was wonderful!!! I made sure I got a piece of the one that tried to get away but got stuck in the tree.
Chriss—now I need to find enough orange fabrics in my stash for the pumpkin twists… Our weather is improving… cooler nights and cooler days. I’m sure it is just a breather and will turn hot again for a few more weeks. You need to make Marilyn a quilt with the Converse high tops on it! There was a pattern in one of the quilt magazines awhile back.
Suzette—I really enjoyed the pictures from your quilt club!!! Of course, the spiral quilt caught my eye!
Tina—I think maybe our sauna weather moved to your area… rain at night; steam in day! You have been busy!!!
Cindy—Sounds like you are back in your office. Is it brighter? Pack your camera now in your Houston bag… boing!!! I’m with you on flavorless peaches… ugh!
Sharona—Looking at houses can be fun unless you have to find one in a hurry! You decided to stay in CO? Good luck!!!
Judi—have fun!!!
Chrissy—you are so busy! I need to look for peaches here. Good luck on the MRI. I’ve only had the digital mammo. Best wishes to Mo!
Vicky—50 diapers is a lot to ask for!!! Oh, I love big band music!!! Way to go Em!!! I hope you find some time for yourself after your blueberry outing!!!
Lois—what a great feeling to have nothing pressing and can go to your sewing room guilt free!!!
MaryZ—your poor brother!!! That many bee stings can cause an allergic reaction. Sounds like you are having fun with your sis & BIL. Don’t mind us—keep havin’ fun!!!
I need to get busy and do a little floor cleaning, then head for my sewing room…
Have a great day! Let the thread times roll!!!

Good Morning Ladies
What a chill in the air this morning.
I just couldn't get warm I had to get
out of bed and put socks on and my housecoat.
I was in the house all day yesterday with
my puppy shaking and drooling because the
houses across the lagoon from us are
being demolished from the storm. They are using
big diggers and making crashing sounds and
Maddy doesn't like it. They are almost done.
My husband said we should plan a nice day
trip next week. I was thinking my dream trip
would be Lancaster for a quilty trip or Ocean
City for dinner and walk the boards and stop
in my favorite jewelry store for a trinket.
They carry the Alex and Ani bracelets that
I have and LOVE.
We shall see.
Maybe a little more sewing today too.
I am going to target to get my littlest
grandson his backpack and lunch box he is
starting kindergarten.
Well so much for me babbling ON.
Have a wonderful Blessed Day

Good morning!
Finally got a little tired boy to lay down for a nap - he is down to just one long nap per day and by now is a worn out little monkey - he gets up at the crack of dawn - with his parents - thank goodness! I am too old for that! LOL Earlier he was singing at the top of his voice to the "Pilgrim's Chorus" by Taunhouser(sp) Such a funny little boy!
I got the Christmas wall hanging all pieced last night - just needs the backing and quilting - that is what all my quilts need! It can be done on the LA at Sarah's house - then all it will need is some small buttonholes that will allow the LED lights to come through and light up the tree, that is on the quilt.
DH asked me this morning what we were going to do for our 38th Anniversary tomorrow - well let's see - I came up with some very good ideas - rather selfish on my part - suggested that we go and order up my new LA and several other things for the house - well at least he has done the budget - there is hope..... Did I ever tell you that his nickname is Scrooge - but a very generous good hearted Scrooge!
The weather will reach 100 - again this year - for the 20th time - the record is 21 and that will happen tomorrow - but I am glad that it is dry heat - we have only 16% humidity - that makes it tolerable. But by the week-end, we will have thunderstorms again. The are several fires burning here in Utah - none are close - one to the west of us, is a mountain range away and the other is up in Park City Area - north of me. So far - we are fine - but with a cautious eyes!
Well need to straighten up the sewing studio and put away my mess -
Have a great day
Hugs
Jana

Re: Thursday, August 15
Good morning all,
Hope everyone is having a wonderful day. My DSIL is still here. She will be leaving on Saturday. Seems like she has been here forever! LOL She is really no trouble at all, but just having one extra person in the house just puts you off your routine.
I can't wait to get back to being able to sneak upstairs and sew whenever I want. I also want to make some soap!
Well, this fiscal year is almost over....six weeks to go! We are just about finished "buying" this year. Tons of paperwork to do and records to scan. Next month will probably be dead around here. They (finance) will turn off our credit cards soon...gotta make sure all charges have been posted, etc. Of course, everyone in the squadron waits until now to decided they desparately need something that just can't wait until October! LOL
Guess I should get back to work....the boss just walked in! LOL
Take care and I hope you all have a fabulous day.
Hugs,
Mel

Re: Thursday, August 15
Good afternoon from slightly chilly but very sunny, SW. Pa...Would you believe we woke up to temps only in the 40s... Mother Nature is really getting out of hand......
Jim is helping with the elderly bingo and I just got back from my tropical lunch...Wow, the food was good and I have a feeling I've packed on a few more pounds.....And tomorrow the girls are taking me to lunch once again so more pounds......I think week after next I'm going on a major diet.....
I have a wedding rehearsal to do tomorrow evening and then the wedding on Sat. I usually have someone to help with these things but it seems no one wants the job....It's such a fun thing although it is work....
When I go to lunch, I don't get a thing accomplished when I get home...I did manage to get all the tee shirts washed and now to do the cutting and ironing on the backing....
Chriss, love your way of shopping..When does school start in your area? Around here, I believe it's next week....Terry told me, the yarn he brought is maybe a tenth of what is still left in the room...They live in a huge 4 bedroom house and 1 room is her "craft room"...It used to be our room when we visited but now, you can't get in the door she has so much stuff....Hopefully, the vets will benefit from her shopping addiction.....
Judi, around here we have an organization connected with Ally Cats that will spay/neuter feral cats/kittens give them their shots, test them for leukemia and all they want is a donation and for you to take the cats and release them back to their home/colony....Local vets donate their time to take care of these cats...They have also started doing pets for a reduced price....So many of the shelters are filled and a lot of them won't accept ferals...But, by trapping them, you're at least preventing more kittens.....Have a great trip........
All this talk about peaches makes me want to buy some and make a pie....Our best peaches come from Chambersburg, about 2 1/2 hours from me....My mouth is watering!
Well, I guess I'd better do something even if it's wrong.....
You all have great day................

Sharona - How did the house-hunting go? David grew up in Elizabeth and my parents lived out there for 10 years when our girls were little!
