Yes, Shirley Mae is moving back to Midwest in Fall

Post by Ittybittygma » Wed Aug 14, 2013 6:41 am

Hi everyone, Chriss, you ask me if we are moving. I not sure I ever posted exactly why we are moving. Our lease here is not up until March 1 but we are working with the landlord to leave in the fall sometime. They wanted to sell the house in Mar this yr but we had no place to go at the time so they graciously gave us another yr lease. Thank God for nice landlords. They will meet with a RE agent sometime in mid to late sept to see what they can do and have some open houses. WE all agreed it is best for everyone involved.

We are slowly packing, sorting and cleaning the place up so we can move. Hoping by doing a little extra things here and there we can get our deposit back to move. Expenses here are so high compared to the Midwest. All our bills seemed to increase greatly this yr, rent, elec, gas, our meds, and groceries too. Just can't keep up with it all much longer. Rod is trying to work but his health is not the best so can't do many hrs. Dr told me NOT to work with my heart problems.

Anyway, we are heading back to Kansas City, MO whenever we get a chance. WE raised our kids there and lived there for 25 yrs. Many lifelong friends in the area. Our son is in the AF back there and two of our DGDs are in or out of college and living in an apt there too. Most of my family is up in Nebr and I miss all of these folks so much. Haven't seen any of them for 2 yrs. I am so homesick for family again. especially my youngest sister, Marianne. We are very close.

Our DD3 and family live here but when we told them we were thinking of moving, their comment, "Do what you gotta do to be happy" but they told others, they were losing their babysitter. Sorry that is all we mean to them. We love our little DGS but gotta get out of this heat and high prices. All our friends here are some we met on the road when we traveled for over 8 yrs. They all travel and don't live here either. I love our DD but we haven't been to their home for 5 yrs. They want to always come here, plan parties here, etc and I do all the work. I can't do it any more. We will miss little J so much when we move and we will miss them too. Hope they come to visit us sometime. We just can't travel all over any more.

WE will move in with our son and wife near Kansas City MO until we can see where we actually want to live. We will probably end up in a senior development or community somewhere in the area. Son found several nice ones but wants us to come and check them out first before doing anything else. He too wants us to be happy.

I need to scoot and get busy again. Washing curtains, scrubbing, really scrubbing, everything in the house. Rod is cleaning out garage. Problem here is the place is over furnished and what few things we have just added to the clutter already here. WE also have to totally move the raised bed garden we have out back, boards, dirt and all. Looking for someone to take it away for free. ha

Catch you all later. I love to move around. Gets your junk sorted, changes your surroundings, a new place to decorate, sort of, and new neighbors and friends to look forward to. Here, the neighbors keep getting sick or dying from old age. Depressing and most neighbors here not very friendly. Midwest folks were always friendly and kind and caring.

May God bless you all. I will be busy for awhile so not able to do much posting. But I will check and read from time to time. Keeping you all in my prayers that life is happy and remember, God is watching over you every day. Love and hugs, Shirley Mae

Shirley Mae you need to move closer to Louisville, Ky.
I am so glad you and Rod have decided to move back. I personally love the Midwest but I haven't lived anywhere else either.
I hope everything goes smooth for your move and that you both find peace.
HUgs,
Sharon

Shirley May I will keep you and Rod in my prayers during your move back to the Midwest. Living in Ohio may not be perfect, but I wouldn't live anywhere else. I know you will love being back with the rest of your family. Good luck with your move.
