Good morning.
I'm working today, but have a guild meeting tonight. I always have a good time at guild. I host the BOM and have the blocks made up for the next few months. Trying to stay ahead of the game. lol
Mel, my girlfriend used the stamp to make her hexies. She said it went really fast.
Suzette you must have been tired.
Velda hope you catch some fish.
Cindy, are you having them paint your office a nice lavendar? Maybe a pretty little flower border at the top?
Well I best be getting back to work. Have a fabulous day.
Lori

Re: Tuesday, August 13th, 2013
good cloudy morning from Long Island,
I've been missing you all, I did read your posts. I see Lois's DD passed her test & is going for a job,,,,wonderful! Maryz's DD is wanting a baby((((((HUGS)))))))). Suzette's nieces' daughter is having her procedure. That's all I remember. Sending prayers for all.
I know my DD is going to get better......she is getting better! BUT this calcification condition she has in insidious. She is in pain 24/7 & 0n 3 major pain "reducers", there is no killing this pain. The good news is there is no planned surgery. The effected areas are starting to scab over hopefully producing new skin. Some of these areas are large...2x4. I'm thankful there are none in her sitting down area.
How I'm I doing? Hanging in there! Miss you all.
Love & prayers.......Kathy

Good Morning Girls
Working late shift today so I have a little time this morning to catch up with y'all. It's a gorgeous day and I would love to play hookey and stay home and putter around the house, but it's all hands on deck at work as it is crazy busy, though luckily I got out sort of on time last night--first time in weeks. Nice thing about working late shift is I DO get out on time!
Had a wonderful busy weekend. Saturday room mate and I had a big bonfire and burned some dead trees, mowed the lawn, dusted everything! cleaned the kitchen once or twice and started laundry. Went to BIL's birthday party--was so good to see him and my nieces! One lives in Manhattan, NY and the other lives not too far from me, but I so rarely get to see them. Sunday I took Bren and Evie school shopping after lunch at Chipotle--always great fun. Even picked up a few spiral notebooks for myself--can't resist when they are 17 cents! They are just so handy to have around! Have this weekend's TO DO list started and am thrilled there I have don't have to go anywhere and can stay home and do some outside projects and then SEW!
Teresa... glad you are feeling human again after being "twisted" up for a while. I'm sorry I'm missing out on the Lotto this month... just so little time to sew lately! And right now my sewing room looks like a tornado went through it.
Kathy... good news for your DD.. that she is healing! Prayers continue for her! How long will you stay in NY before you can go home again?
Velda... LOVE crappies just fried up with a little butter! Up here we call it CPR--"Catch, Photo, Release" when you catch fish that you put back. I'm not much of a fisher person... I won't touch worms or creepy crawly leeches. My Oldest DS is the fisherman and Brennen.. they live and breathe fishing.
Judi... Hope you have a fabulous time at the GR Quilt Show... good thing you have your camera ready this time. Now I wish I had gotten tomatoes planted this summer, I could be making fresh salsa and Pico too!
Suzette.... love the short snoozes that turn into 3 hour naps.. only problem is, then I feel like I've wasted 3 hours of good sewing time.
Lois.... prayers for DD today.. with fingers crossed to for a great interview. Sorry I missed it, but what kind of job is she applying for?
Mel... watched a little of the Youtube on Hexies! OMG I'd go crazy cutting out all those little pieces.. Guess I'll never be a hexie-maniac!!
Cindyg... are you counting down to the days to the Houston show yet?
Chickie... your DH's comment about your dinner be "surprising good" reminds me of the time I tried to make stuffed green peppers.. DEX kindly said "you don't have to make these again" and I didn't! Never as good as him Mom's...
Well girls, guess I better get my butt up and do something before I have to get ready for work.... 4 more days til the weekend!
Hope y'all have a great day!
Don't forget there's still time to sign up for Secret Santa!

Teresa, Sorry I didn't get to meet with you when you were in Phx last week. I had to babysit my 5 yo DGS on top of trying to clean up and recover from all that company the week before. I had him 4 days last week. The week before we had 5 staying here and 10 altogether to feed and entertain and keep track of for 5 days. I am getting too old for this. LOL
I posted yesterday late in the day so will repost here since I did one of those rare, try to include all before me postings. Sorry I don't get on early in am. By the time I get up the folks on the east coast are ready for lunch. My neighbor is back home from hospital but not very good. Will check on her later today.
Prayers for all who need them today and always. Hugs, Shirley Mae

Hi, I try to read every day or two but too busy to post much. Just wanted to ask for prayers for my neighbor Virginia again. She is 82 and just left in an ambulance again for hosp.
I heard a car door slam, looked out and saw the ambulance. Grabbed my shoes and ran next door. She is 82, Ken is 85 and they both were in jammies and looked pale and so fragile and helpless. Rod is at work so no car here so another neighbor, (91) is taking the hubby after he gets dressed. No family here, just kind neighbors.
Jules, I loved the tour of the quilt show thru your eyes. What a delightful and inspiring show. I would have spent hrs looking over each one. You sound "happy" again even tho you are so busy. May God bless your little family as it continues to change and grow and excel in life. Give Charley a big hug and congrats on all her accomplishments.
Suzette, Prayers for the little girl. May God guide the hands of the drs in surgery and may she receive complete recovery and a long life of happiness and good health.
Sorry about the truck!!!!! I used to have to drive a big one some days too. I often had to have my boss get it out of a tight parking spot or a snowbank in the partly cleared parking lot. Good thing I had a nice boss who just laughed and rolled his eyes and moved it.
Izzy, May God bless you for dealing with all those little kids. They don't make kids like they used to. LOL I so enjoy your posts about life on the farm.
Jana, How lucky Ethan is to have a grandma like you. Your posts always include him and I love that. You are such a busy lady, doing so much for others and being so active in the church too. God has indeed blessed your life with love and joy of others around you.
Carol, have fun with that pressure canner. I remember those from the farm as a kid. Grandma, mom and all the aunts canning everything in sight. Us kids had to help too but it was a group project filled with fun and laughter and good food in the winter months. Your DP sounds so pretty. Someday I will try one of those.
Delores, What kind of a tree did you plant so early in the morning? Glad your yard looks nice again.
FArmchick, More rain? Are you in that flood warning area? Looked bad on tv this am. Better catch that boat soon or build an ark? I so enjoy your posts about life on the farm, your delightful mom, and your busy but happy life. We are moving back to KCMO area sometime in fall or early winter. Someday, I hope to visit with you.
Karlene, I always forget something at the store. Have fun with those appliques. I had to put all my quilting stuff away when I had lots of company a few wks ago and just haven't drug it back out yet. Now we may be moving sooner than thought, so trying to start packing a little each day so no rush at the end. You have such a "fun" family, always busy with something. God bless you all in your daily life.
MaryZ, May God bless you in your travels. Have a great trip and enjoy life along the way. We will miss your happy posts but glad you get a little vacation. ps You could just ride in your jammies. My aunt left in a hurry one time and looked down and noticed she still had bedroom slippers on. Her nice walking shoes were still at home. Shopping trip ahead. LOL
Chriss, Prayers that the adoption is finalized soon. May God bless you as he already has, with a legal adoption of that delightful child, Marilyn. Love your posts about her. Give her a big hug. Her room is so cheerful and fun. She seems to be a very happy child enjoying the love and happiness of her new home.
CindyG, Sorry about the office mess. Maybe new surroundings will make the job go better.
Grammie, Prayers that things go well at the drs today. I have problems with so much meds and I get so tired of drs saying, oh most people don't get side effects. I happen to be in the 1% that gets all or most of them but drs don't believe you. May God bless you with better health so maybe you won't have to take so many meds someday.
Osteo is no fun. My hubby has that too, very badly.
Vicky, I smiled when I saw you were driving to Bath, NY. Rod's aunt and uncle used to run a lumber company there. His brother lived up there for a while too. Not sure where all the cousins are these days. May God bless your day and protect your chickens too. Your quilt sounds so pretty with all those burples, etc in it.
Lois, Congrats on your DD passing that test. When your kids do so great, that means they had a wonderful set of parents behind them too. May God be with her as she moves on into her chosen career in the medical field. You must be so proud of her.
Carole, Did I read somewhere that you are back home in AZ? I am still here but planning to move back to Midwest before march.
I am sure folks have posted since I started this book, but will send it before I lose it. I don't do this very often but hubby is at work and I needed a break today. Prayers and blessings on one and all today that God will provide for all your needs today and always.
I do try to read when I can but now starting to pack and sort etc so busy most days. Had house full of company for 5 days, 10 people to keep track of and feed. Only 5 stayed here but 3 kids......... Then no daycare and no summercamp for over a week so had DGS here most of last 2 wk. I am exhausted. Gotta scoot.
Love and hugs across the miles, Shirley Mae

Good afternoon from warm, off and on sunny, SW. Pa....We did have rain and then the sun came out so time to wash more sheets....It seems as soon as I got them on the line, it looked like rain...Oh well, hopefully, I won't need the dryer.....
I have a feeling I'll be doing bedding all week....I try to keep all the extra sheets etc. in bins and then when the kids come, I can just pull out a bin.....
Jim has been in the bathroom painting...He was kind of hoping he wouldn't be a part of the remodel, lol.....This morning, I had to have blood work done, then onto Aldi's, then I ordered the wall paper for the bathroom and then stopped at the Library....I was hoping to pick up some "Cabot Cove" books but they only had 3...
Karlene, I do have to admit, it was an interesting move from the big house to this one but it sure was one way to get rid of stuff...By the time we were moving, 4 of the kids had already gotten married and had taken a lot of their stuff..But, Terry was still at home (away at school but still home)and he had loads of stuff...When he'd come home for the summer, he'd put his stuff in one room and then sleep in another one but when we moved, fun was over.....AND, even though we have remodeled, I jump at the chance to move...Of course, the next house would have to be 1 floor, small level yard and new...Not much to ask for, right????Like I said, we'll be here until the end.....
And with that, I'd better check the sheets....
You all have a good day....................

Dorothy - LOL on having a new house! I understand as our old farm house if over 100yrs. David loves it, and I love the character, but I'd rather have a new house that looks like an old house! My parents keep saying that their house is getting old and I don't even think it is 20yrs.
Somehow, the cleaning-out of the house where the new associate Pastor and family will live was overlooked. I went over yesterday when I was done in the office to 'spiffy' it up, but it needed a lot more than that. I worked on it yesterday afternoon and had 2 other ladies and 3 teens show up this morning to help. It is looking much better and smells better. But now I smell like Murphy's Oil Soap! I didn't think to lift up the windows and clean the sills so I'll do that in the morning.
I started a triangle at the beginning of last year, but put it aside and it became a PIG (project in grocery bag) but I pulled it out last night and it is now a WIP once again.
Today is David's 50th so I'm going to try and make him a good meal and hope nothing goes awry!
Have a good evening,
Karlene
