WOW!!!! Everyone is up early today & on the run......I am getting ready to head to daughters house she is going to get me some strips for a D9P and I will try to sew see how I get along....Decided I really need to work this stash down way down......

Chriss.....its a bummer but you know the house is paid for an at my age I don't really want to move and have to start with mortgage pmts
again. I would love to have a little bit bigger house but not to much then I wouldn't have time for sewing. :)

Thought we might get some rain last nite but no such luck.

Hope you all have a great day sewing or doing whatever you oenjoy doing.

Good Morning Girls

I think it's cooled down here a little, opened up a couple windows and it doesn't feel too bad outside! Would be great is I could turn off the AC for a little while and get some fresh air in the house!

Never made it to Joann last night, ended up working til almost 9pm. Another crazy day in the pharmacy! It started out just fine, but then got crazy busy about 5:00... I even got a "thank you" from the boss for staying late all the time.. That's a first!

So today I'm running down to Auntie's and luckily there is Joann close by that I can stop at. Am locking myself in sewing room tomorrow and going to completely ignore the uglies. Tho I do have to spend a little time on the computer to balance checkbook and pay bills. With no rain recently, the grass hasn't grown and I don't have to move the lawn! YIPPEE.

Maryr... do you have a flannel back table cloth in the house? That's what my design wall is... I only have 1 wall big enough in the whole house to put hang it... the hallway outside my sewing room. Works great. Hard to stand back and take photos that way, but the blocks stick to the flannel just great!

Chriss.... won't be a very big "garage" sale, just some stuff left in Auntie's apartment, for the folks in the building. Then I have to help sissy pack up the rest of the stuff and figure out what to do with it all. Auntie is now in full blown dementia... putting her pj's on over the clothes and thinking that men are coming into her room at night. How fun to laugh and giggle with Marilyn! What a wonderful turn around for her! What a wonderful life you are giving her!

Wish I could stay and chat some more and greet you all, but I need to hop in the shower to get down to Auntie's by 10 and it after 8 here already. Take about 45 minutes to get there and a good hour for me to get self ready to go out in public.

Hope you all have a tremendous day!

Good morning!

Beautiful day here in the mountain west - just a few clouds and we are hot again - over 100, but only only feels like 90! LOL

I did get some sewing done yesterday - Ethan was my helper - helped himself to my thread drawer and now I have spools of thread all over the house!

We took the boys down to Sarah last night in Provo - then stopped in at the model railroad store - did some damage with the credit card too! DH got a new engine and several cars - boy have they gotten expensive! Oh well, two expensive hobbies in this house! LOL While we were there, he found a book - goes right along with QIAD! Slight history - model railroads are never finished and are a work in progress - so he found a model railroad book - "Done in a Day" - just made me laugh!

Well need to feed a hungry growling DH - he says that I am always on here! LOL

Have a great day
Hugs

me back again -

now I can add -

Chriss - if you find a dresser for Marilyn - you could paint it silver - I have seen many in the decorating shows these days for teens rooms - may go with her choice of colors - just a thought -

Morning all:) Woke to wonderful bleach smell LOL Got it all nice and clean:)

Vacation sounds good but this is busy time on farm. Already got batch of beans in pressure cooker this morning and 7 more quarts waiting their turn. DH helped me snap them last night. He also shucked all the corn :) So today for DD bday cook out fresh corn, greenbeans, and meat feast. Veneson shishkabobs; goat burgers; and chemical filled hot dogs for those too scared to try fresh meat LOL.

Got uglies to do before family gets here. It was 85 at midnight last night felt like 90 with humidity. So hot today only way we will be outside is in the pool. Tried to sit on porch to have cup coffee and started sweating YUK>

I too use the back of outdoor table cloth as my design wall. It works great and only cost me 3 bucks:))

This week has been busy busy looking forward to next with no running. DH and I plan to finish the ornamental pond landscaping; fill dirt at top of waterfall; plant flowers; move rock. Then to pick beans again. tomatoes not doing well too much rain rotting once start to ripen and now so dry we have to water.

Have fun all. Keep cool.

Good morning from semi sunny, but warm, SW. Pa...We had a sprinkle or 2 this morning and a promise for more later today.....Would you believe, Jim mowed all the grass yesterday, in all that heat? I finally got a sock, filled it with ice and wrapped around his neck...I told him I didn't have time to take care of anyone having a heat stroke, just wasn't in my schedule.......

Well Frick and Frack were at it again.....I decided it was time to "do" the bedroom, flipping the mattress, changing the quilt and curtains....(Maybe I'm the one having a heat stroke)....Our room is small and trying to flip the mattress using ends up with one of us, mostly me, being pinned up against the wall or caught under the mattress...And then we always have help from 1 or more furbabies....Such a fun way to start a Saturday morning......

Chriss, Happy vacation and happy shopping..I love your idea with the TV and the boa......I've gotten my best deals at the Hospice thrift shops...There is one near Virginia's in Florida and they now, we're on 1st name basis......Love, love that place..In fact, I love all the thrift shops..My friends and I stopped at a new one on Thursday, after our champagne, and I came home with a pair of size 8 jeans, brand new, for $2.00...Of course I wear a size 10 but this will be my incentive, I hope......Could have been the champagne,also..... I often think how your life has changed in the time you've had Marilyn and how life has changed for Marilyn....You have been blessed, both of you.....

ScrappyPat, I know how you feel about wishing for a little more room but not wanting to start over...I keep saying, I'm going to add on the side or upstairs but it doesn't go very far...And my other idea is to divide our property, sell the house and put a nice double wide on the remaining half...And then I think, too much work! Have fun with your DD.....

Well, I'd better get back to the bedroom...I still need to iron the curtains and get them up.....(Why do I do these things???)I did hear from my DDIL (not so dear) in N.C. and she and Nicky will be coming on the 31st, so I have a little while before I have to turn my sewing room into a bed room.......

You all have a great day.................

Good afternoon Everyone

Just checking to see what you all are doing.

We are getting started to prepare for our party
next weekend.

Our grandson Patrick graduated from High school and
we are hosting the party at our house. Living on the water
has its advantages.

everyone wants to sit on the dock and catch
crabs and do some fishing.

My husband made a little carwash for kids out of
pvc pipe and it is really nice.

There are now about 50 people coming.

My grandson can't wait to see all of his cousins.

My daughter is catering the food from a place
called the Top /tomato. Their food is so good.

Our front and back yard are finally finished we
purchased the rest of the plants to replace the ones
that died as a result of the salt water from the
hurricane.

I will have to post pictures of our front and back yard
I am trying to have a sign made to put in our front
yard saying WE ARE STRONGER THAN THE STORM.

IT looks like everyone is really busy today.

Have a wonderful day
God bless You All

Dolores

Just a quick stop in to let you know I am still here. I am two weeks behind on what everyone has been doing. My son and his family just left two days ago so I will go back and read what everyone has been doing. We had a great two weeks together and I can't believe how fast it went. My oldest son flew in from Houston last weekend so I had everyone together for the first time in a long time. My son and his family are going to Okinawa to be stationed for 3 years. Of the choices he was given this was the best. One of his choices was Brooklyn, NY to head up a reserve unit. We all agreed this was not a good choice. By going to Okinawa he will not be deployed to the Middle East again. Between Afghanistan, Iraq, and boat duty he has been there at least 6 times, and I become a "nervous wreck" every time. I can easily live with Okinawa so long as I have my Skype.

We had lots of fun while they were here. I didn't know SpongeBob was on so many times in one day. LOL Now I am trying to catch up on my energy. Today I am going to watch The British Open and LPGA while I get back to quilting and sewing.

Will check back after I catch up on what all you El's Angels have been doing. Prayers for all who need it. I am keeping a watch on the birth in Great Britain. it is nice to be looking forward to some good news.

Well, I went and celebrated Christmas in July at my LQS. The owner had turned her classroom into a room full of Christmas fabrics by the yard, pre cuts, books and patterns. I got my fabrics for the Christmas block exchange. I just have to wait to pre wash them. Hubby decided to hang the glass tile backsplash in the kitchen. I can't get to the washer until he is done. I plan on posting pictures of what I got at the sale either later today or tomorrow. Have a great afternoon.

Hello Ladies,

I am a little behind today. I went grocery shopping and cleaned the house now I am back in my sewing room. I have to stop working on Christmas projects for a little while. I have a lady she bought already 2 of the Christmas quilts and 2 of the spring quilts. She called me this morning and wanted me to make her 2 quilts for fall.

I read a lot about Christmas block swap here.....can somebody give me information on that? Maybe I could join.

Have a great weekend

Gabriele
