OMG!! I just got back from the grocery. It is so hot it is nauseating! I must have been out of my mind to go out now. The folks in Maryland where the water was supposed to be turned off have lucked out. They are just under strict water restrictions until the main is fixed. I did manage to get started on the shade for the boat. There are a couple of places I am not sure what to do for. But, I will figure it out. Have a great afternoon and stay cool.

Hello everyone, I never post here but always read and your mention of straw needles just made me write about them . I love them, used them for years. They are long, very thin and very sharp. I use them to sew on bindings by hand. Usually use #11, Hope everyone is taking care of themselves in this heat wave we are having. Enjoy the rest of the day. Marge

Good evening, checking in before bed.

Suz, how was your lunch?

Judi, today felt cool compared to the last few weeks. It was in the low 90's. The past few weeks however have jumped between 100 and 116 every day. Good luck with the outcome of the mammo and bone density.

Izzy, Wow, that's a lot of beans. They are great in soups and stews during the winter. One of these days I will have my yard squared away so I can put in a garden. Have fun on your road trip.

Chriss, Thanks for the support. I see the countdown has begun for vacation.

Hi Gabriela, how're your quilts coming along?

Kathy, were you able to get your hot water working again? Hooray for another quilt finish. Excited to see it. I am looking for just about anything as long as they will work with my first job schedule. Right now I just need anything that will supplement my current job so I can pay bills. DH is out of work and unemployment is denying benefits at this time.

Sharona, welcome home. You and the girls make the most of your time ( I know you will). We missed you too.

Cindyg, I haven't got sewing time worked out yet if I get the 2nd job. I am hoping and praying DH will get something first so I don't have to, but I can't wait any longer to start looking.

Maryz, I work 40 hours a week at my current job. The reality of the situation is that If Randy doesn't get a job soon and I don't find a second job there won't be any electricity to run the machine, and no money to buy the material and thread. Soooo...

Chickie I love glads. I would like to get more.

Scrappy have fun.

Maryq, I really don't want to have to work 2 jobs, but I am spoiled. I like having gas in my car, lights in my house, and all the luxuries that we have nowadays. You know what I mean.

See everyone later. Bedtime is creeping up. Have a good night.

Mary/Rosebud

No chat time today! I was up early and watered for several hours. Found several cantaloupes making which really pleased DH when he came home. After brunch and clean up (me, before brunch; kitchen, after), I mixed up bread and let it rise while I made squash jam. It is delicious!!! The bread baked, so we had fresh bread with jam with dinner this evening. In between the day, I had to help DH in the yard with several projects, plus a RTV ride over to DS1's, then stopped back by DS3's... I'm ready to cut some watermelon and put my feet up...

Hope everyone has had a super day and that you've managed to find a cool spot. Everyone, it seems, is experiencing our normal summer weather... I am so sorry for all of you who are not used to sweltering summers!!!

Enjoy your evening!
