Morning Pals
No I do not have insomnia but I was so hoping that I would be in bed at least reading. I have been searching all over for my Flo. friends address but can't find it. When I switched my phone all the addresses got trashed plus I lost my books ... grrrrrr.
It was an overcast day yesterday which put me in a somber mood. I did finish the Victorian Disappearing 9-patch and got many of the pieces cut for my crabs calendar block.
So it is pretty quiet for me right now. Please pray for my friend, Jamie. They had to put down there schnozzer, sophia. She had massive liver damage with just no way to save her.
I am so trying with everything I have to get Sunbonnet Sue on the road but she keeps wanting a few more minutes. I put her in the car and the next thing I know she is back in the house - LOL!!!! I must put my foot down with her though and insist she start her next travels.
Hope you all have a great day!!! HUGE HUGS and Prayers

Good morning Teresa and those that follow.
Quilt Club was wonderful yesterday. I posted a few pictures in the photo thread. In a couple of weeks she is having Christmas in July to show off her Christmas stuff. Can't wait. I have to find something so I can get my Christmas block swap blocks done. Today I have to go to work and then when I get home I will go out to my studio. They are showing on the news that Roanoke, VA was flooded yesterday. My hubby has told me that happens a lot. Well, I better get going and get some breakfast. Have a great day.

Caleb update, By last night the boy was a real mess. It had really spread. I did take him to the dr yesterday afternoon and he is on a steroid. I don't see him out here on the couch so he slept some anyway. He was so tired that while waiting for the dr to come in he fell asleep. Please keep him in your prayers because Friday and Saturday he sits for the GED and I really want him to focus.
I never got in the sewing room last night as planned
We had to empty our family room because I have Chem-dry coming to clean the carpet in there today.
Not much else happening today.
Have a great one and keep looking up!
Vicky

Morning all
Teresa - sorry you lost all your stuff with your new phone....I have an iphone and once everything is transferred it is so easy to use, but i always hold my breath for a few minutes when I get a new handset and hope it all transfers
Suze - so glad you had a good class, will have to head oveer to photos to check out your pictures
Lois - I need to have a bit of a sort out in my room and get my projects in order, have fun with your grankids
Vicky - so sorry for Caleb, praying the steroids kick in real quick and give him some relief so he can sit his GED....hope you get some sewing in soon
I've been graduation dress shopping with Charley (my poor knees) anyway shes got a lovely dress to wear, my parents are home from their vacation after 5 long weeks, so I'm looking forward to getting over and see my mum, I'm hoping she'll notice our weightloss, Charley has lost 13 pounds and I've lost 15 pounds, I've just marinated some chicken drumsticks in a sticky sesame sauce for dinner tonight and I'm having a day in my studio, sorting out and maybe a little sewing, been feeling a bit up and down the last week or so, not sure why but think I'm just exhausted and been doing too much trying to help everyone out and keep them happy......little bit of down tie is needed i think
Love and prayers to eveeryone, sorry if I've missed anything important over the last few days, you are all in my thoughts everyday, lots of love xx

Good morning, I finished the summer porch with label. I will try to get photo of it posted today. My DGDs are coming over today to go through old photos. they are doing a photo video for their graduation party on the 27th, borrowing many of my photos. It is always fun to go down memory lane,
Tonight I have quilt guild. Not sure what is on the program, I will look up the news letter. I also need to know what to take with me...usually take my hexis and work on them. also the quilt for show and tell. some fat quarters for the raffle. (each one is a entry) a few bucks for 50-50.
We are going to the International Quilt Show in Grand Rapids, Michigan next month, It is am awesome venue. I need to check and see what I need to buy(like I NEED anything) surely there is some n ew line of fabric. I did visit QIAD at the last show and bought some ELLIE fabric...might need a few more pieces of that, I love the sweet florals.
Welll I need to get a few uglies and wash done this mornig and of course the coffee//////Have a great day XXXOOO

Good Sad/Smiley Morning.....
Kim got a good Dr's report yesterday. And she had a better night last night. I have a 11am ferry reservation && I'm going home!!! I should be home by 2pm. Of course she's sad & so I'm I. She needs to build up her independence again. I plan on Skyping her 2 times a day.
I'll be praying for you all as I drive...it's a good prayer fest time.
See you later......Kathy

Re: Thrusday, July 11th, 2013
Good Morning,
I notice it's darker at 5am than it was a month ago. Winter's coming!
TERESA - I am so sorry for your friend's loss of her dog. I'm knowing just how she feels. I hope you find your other friend's address. I save all our old address books just in case and I've had to pull them out occasionally. Can't wait to see your calendar block. You must have July. I'm knee deep in Shamrocks here.
SUZ - I love Christmas sewing in July!
LOIS - Are you putting fabric into your cabinets or books? Patterns? tools? Everything?
VICKY - poor Caleb! has he tried soda baths? I'm told that helps and it won't interfere with other meds he's on.
JULES - congratulations on your weight loss!! What an achievement! that's an upper all by itself! So what is Charley's dress like? Have fun visiting your mum! gad she's home safe and sound.
JUDI - sounds like it's all fun at your house today! you can't start making your list up too soon for the IQS! And if you like quilting novels and see books by Arlene Sachitano, they are very good! I've read two of them so far. I like her better than Earlene Fowler. They are actually set in my neck of the woods, which maybe is why I like them so much. I got them at the IQS in Houston.
KATHY - so happy to hear the good news about Kim. And that you are going home! You're right - it sounds as if she's reach the point where she has to start working on her independence now. Bless you for all you've done for her. and keep doing for her. But what wouldn't we do for our kids??
Today I hope to finish my calendar blocks and maybe get the binding sewn on my DS & DIL's Christmas quilt. I have their label almost finished (I cross-stitch my labels). Also, our neighbors are having garage sale this weekend so I need to work on pricing a few things and taking them over. And someone needs to clean our fridge and package up the meats from Costco for the freezer. So I have plenty to keep my busy today!
Our pet scourge continues. My DD#1 lost two of her big koi fish last night. she's had them for years and they lived in a koi pond in her back yard. They were huge and would come and eat our of her hand. In the past year and a half our family has lost a total of 5 cats (all very elderly), 2 dogs, and now 2 fish. And if Riley barfs up another half-digested mouse on my bed we're gonna lose another one!
Take care today.
Mary z

Re: Thrusday, July 11th, 2013
good morning.. what a great day we are going to have today..not sure why yet but something will make it good...
Jerry has painted the third bathroom.. we now have daffodil yellow, melon and honeydew... my favorite is the yellow... still need the trim and flooring in the honeydew bathroom, and when that's done Marilyn gets a painted room... she picked some bright colors...still not sure what color to paint my bedroom...I just love having color on the walls...
Velda, wow, you really are doing a lot of fun sewing.. bet Willy loves his new quilt, will there be pictures?
Cindyg.. hugs and prayers for you and for Vicky today... I can't imagine being in her shoes... I think the worst part would be that there is no one to talk to in the house anymore... let her know that even though she doesn't know me she is in my thoughts... xo
Karlene, sorry your backing is short.. I can't measure so stuff like that happens to me often... glad that your wisely planning on three months for the church one month construction project...lol... I think grad pillows are a great idea.
Jana, I think Matt was smart adding color too.. I also hate beige... and it also seems colors are only close to the paint swatch... ours turned out a bit different than I had planned... but are beautiful...
Maryq.. red walls? I have been thinking a red accent wall for my bedroom.. do you like your red walls? I also want to do something with strips... I have kind of put my hexi's aside till I finish my Christmas and Calendar blocks...
Chickie, glad the vent appt went well...sorry you're not getting the rain you had wanted.. it looked like it was going to rain here yesterday but didn't ... I think if it tried it would evaporate before it hit the ground.
Mel.. not sure I would want to do paper pieced blocks.. I just can't get over needing to tear the paper off the back of the block... and it would be hard to make a block with someone elses fabric... how many do you need to make? hope it goes quickly.
O'Dorothy, how exciting for Jackie.. wow, to be her must be wonderful.. make sure she gets a high five from me... love the painter hat story... I think you should send Jim and Ted on a scavenger hunt and paint while they are gone... I wish I could match paint colors better but there are so many and I am having a heck of a time... we only have two more rooms before moving onto the living/dining/kitchen where it has to match.... ugh
MaryRose, the coffee was great... I like that Behr has a website where you can adjust the color of the paint you choose then write down the number and take it in to be mixed... if only I could choose a color for my bedroom.. ugh
Vicky.. that quilt is gorgeous... glad Caleb got some rest... I want my carpets cleaned but we will likely replace them after the painting is done.. don't want to clean before paint....
Teresa, happy crabbing... hope you find your friends address... hope Sue behaves.. last time she left she was gone for almost ever...lol
Suzette, what are you going to make for your Christmas blocks?
Lois.. hope work goes quickly
Jules.. have a great you day.. hope even if you get nothing done in your studio that you enjoy doing it... glad the parents are home and Charley has her grad dress.. hope there will be pictures of the new you soon.... 15# is quite a chunk off the body.
Judi, have fun and good luck in the raffle.
Kathy, what a blessing to go home.. it's going to be nice to sleep in your own bed.. what a blessing..
for me it's time to go to work.. you all have a fun day,
chriss

Re: Thrusday, July 11th, 2013
Good morning, good morning,
The dew point has dropped and the air feels so good this morning!
I have not heard the definitive conclusion yet, but I think the church basement remodel just went outside the 4 weeks allotted for it. They finished all the demo and are looking at the foundation block walls (yes, one of the few places in the country where foundations are still made with block walls) and found some creative construction methods were used by those who assembled the basement back in the 70's, including NOT stabilizing or reinforcing the foundation walls so they are bowed in. So, they will be digging out the walls from the outside and adding rebar to anchor and strengthen them. I'm just glad the walls never caved in!
Maryz - how did you do 50 buttons in a day? I must be really slow because buttons take me awhile. I'm getting ready to 'tie' another flannel quilt w/ buttons.
Chriss - I like color on the walls too. David does, as long as it is the lightest shade. He thinks almost anything looks too dark on the walls. I tried to talk him into letting me paint country scenes on the outside of our old barn but he would not go for it. I thought it would be cute to have a horse head looking out a window and such. (Of course, he is familiar with my artistic skills which may be a big part of his being against it, or he could just be a fun-squisher!)
Cindyg - May Ed's funeral and all go well today.
I had some rhubarb that I'd frozen so I cooked that up with some peaches into sauce. I do like rhubarb - David calls it a weed! I've also been trying some recipes that don't have flour in them. I found one, banana/peanutbutter muffins that wasn't too bad, but some have been, well, not keepers. I love to eat baked goods, but I think the flour or the sugar or the combination of the two does not play nice with my innards.
Okay, enough of my rambling,
Have a great day everyone,
Karlene
