Good Morning Girls

WOW I can't believe, I'm the first one up this morning!!! How cool is that! Even the insomniacs haven't started a post this morning!

Another hot day in MN! I'm off to work today. Stopped at Joann last night and picked up a little Christmas fabric--they didn't have a lot to choose from, but I think I now have enough to get going on my Christmas blocks! And I did a bbbaaddddd thing.... I stopped at the T-Mobile store and bought a new I-Phone! Now I just have to figure out how to use it! My kids have been bugging me to "get into the 21st Century" but I think they will have to give me some lessons!

Not much else to tell y'all this morning.... better get butt in gear.

Good morning! After church today I am going to a quilt display and show and tell about quilts at our local museum. They have had this for several years but this is the first time I have been able to go. When I get back I will work on my calendar blocks.

Maryq - you are queen for the day now that you've started the thread. I know you'll love your Iphone. Google 'cool apps' and the like - you'll find lots of stuff that you'll never understand how you lived without. One of my favorites is SkyWatch (I think that's the name) that will tell you the names of the stars based on the camera. It's really cool.

Izzy - I only iron for quilts! Everything I own must be able to go from the washer to the dryer to the hanger to me.

Debbie - have a great time at your quilt museum. I'm glad you get to go!

Cindyg - I'm praying for your dear friends.

After church and a quick Walmart run, it's home to pack the van and get the house in order. BOING! One more sleep and it's here. We put up a squirrel proof bird feeder yesterday - so far so good. I know that they'll figure out how to get in there or just break it soon enough. We'll take it down this evening and put it back up when we get back home. Maryq: I was surprised, too that there was not more Christmas fabric out. When I went to LQS for July Lotto fabric, I ran into the same problem, but for me it paid off, cause, they directed me to the sale rack of "last years" choices. I got my fat qtrs for a lot less. That made me quite happy.

Good Luck with the new phone. I agree, these new gadgets ought to come with a personal instructor (cute and handsome) to take home with us to teach us how to use the dog gone thing. LOL

BAAAAADDD MARY Q - A new i-phone! Wow! you're brave! That's pretty advanced for me! But your kids are probably right. I'm just happy to have a keyboard for texting on mine. Good luck with the lessons. have you scheduled lessons with the grandkids yet?

IZZY - I ironed the other day. The first item of clothing I've ironed in about a year! I'm still trying to get over it.

We have had so much fun with SUE and her DH here. They are both so delightful! We did take a few photos, too. Never forgot the camera - just forgot to use it very often. But alas, all good things do come to an end. They are leaving early this morning.

Sue got a text from Cindy last night though. Cindy's friend, Ed, passed away yesterday evening of cancer. He had a heart attack on Friday and had also developed pneumonia. Their family is in shock. This all happened over the coourse of just 7 weeks. Please remember them in your prayers. He was a nice man.

Good morning.. another beautiful day here in la la land....

today we go to Home Depot to get paint for the third bathroom, it's only a 1/2 bath and should be quick.. we also need peel and stick tile for the middle bathroom then.. after all bathrooms are done... Marilyn gets her room painted... she picked out her colors last night.. the walls will be a dark turquoise and the trim a hot pink.. ugh....

I thought I had enough fabric for my Christmas swap blocks but am a little short... so I need to move on to plan b....

O'Dorothy, Ilove clothes on the line.. last time I came home from Joann's I only bought a magazine and some fusible.. a very dull trip.. and they remodeled our store, but they didn't add anything to it...I'm not thrilled with Joanns'

Jana, glad the forms are off the cement.. we could use some of that rain if you'd be so kind as to send it over that mountain in your back yard...

Karlene, your wedding quilts are gorgeous... funny how Victoria has to roll out of bed...my thrifting went ok.. it was more fun than anything.. I got two blouses for 50 cents each, and some quilt books so I am happy... wish I would have found more..

Tina.. amazing how here is no rain, so that means we will likely have a drought yet a lot of people here have green lawns, and they water so much it runs into the street..I need to know, what happened at the baby shower.?

Maryq.. happy new phone day to you.. hope you figure it all out and have fun with it.... it would take me forever to learn...

Izzy, I would like to iron before church too, but I will likely just wear a different blouse...lol...

Deb, I went to a museum bed turning before where they talked about quilts.. they sure had some neat ones and it was interesting to learn what the style of fabric and colors were popular when...

Sharona, there was a tv show about how squirrels can get into any bird feeder, it showed them trying and trying then figuring out how to get the treats.. it was quite interesting.. those buggers really are something.. we haven't seen many since we got cats... our next pet will be an ant eater.. boy do they ever come out in this heat. have a great trip, I bet you are as excited as the kids are...

You cracked me up with your choice of a next "new pet". I am with you on that one. We have had more ants this year bothering our hummingbird feeder than any other year. I was blaming it on the wet spring and summer. They just give me the creeps!!!!

Good Morning,,,I had another "lie =in" today couldn't get out of bed...slept 9 hours. Wonder why I am so sleepy/ Well I did do a lot yesterday. I actually went down and swept the basement and took Annebelle out of hiding. I cleaned her all up and got a top loaded and part way quilted. Then back was acting upp so I came up and worked on the BOM,,,interesting block. Cording foot might make a difference but her technique didn't impress me...but the block is cute. I have ordered a set of feet from Nancy's Notions. I called and had a long chat with a sewing advisor she said I shold like them and they are on sale...She explained a lot....good costomer service there too. well I need to get dressed and comb my hair before I scare someone. Coffee and toast sounds good too. Have a great day XXXOOO
