Monday, June 24th
Good morning everyone.
It has been a busy weekend. We had my cousin's graduation party on Saturday and yesterday I had a few chores and did manage to make it out to my studio. The quilt for Quilts of Honor is coming out nicely now that I got the strips in the right direction. When we were at the graduation party on Saturday one of my cousins kept telling me that I looked like my grandmother. Unfortunately she passed away before I was born so I didn't know her. I have to figure out breakfast and get ready for work. Have a great day.

Morning all
Suze - glad you had such a good weekend
Lois - have a good day and enjoy your sewing time later
I've just got back from the drs, had to have bloods drawn to recheck my iron and Vit D levels, I'm sure they'll be back to normal as I am feeling a lot better, so hopefully when I get the results I'll just have to take daily multi vitamin to keep them at the normal level
Not much planned for today, I've got an idea for a top in my head so I might have a go at cutting some fabric out for that and see if it works out like it does in my head LOL and I have my weigh in tonight - eek - not been the greatest of weeks but hopefully I'll have stayed the same and not put anythign on
Love and prayers to you all, will trya nd pop back in later

Good Morning,
Only 6 months till Christmas, just in case anyone is counting.
Three days into my husband's fishing trip I have no sewing to show for it. Maybe after some uglies today I can accomplish something..
It has been raining and storming for part of the wee morning and the dogs have been unhappy. Today they will be unhappier, as the dog groomer is coming. They do like coming back into the house.. DS1's dog is coming for it too, so I will have an extra fur baby.
I went to the movies last night with DS1 and DGD and saw monsters u. It was cute and made me think of DGS who likes to "roar" at things.
I need to get moving and get something done. Have a good day!
Sandy, with rain coming down..and flash flood warnings going on around us--if we flood, we are in serious trouble..

Re: Monday, June 24th
hello ladies,
i'm enjoying a quiet-ish day today and resting up...
i had a busy weekend working and seeing family... 2 weeks ago my mum & dad bought me a 'fold up bike' i can put into the back of my car, so i can cycle around villages etc in-between car runs to my work clients. it's working out a treat!! i've even left the car at home a couple of times and cycled down into the village do do my client runs! i have to admit, i'm a little tired today but feeling much fitter! wonderful!! and i'm saving petrol too!! at £1.33 per litre here, we need to save all we can!!!
what with my sudden change in personal life, losing a stone in weight and my cycling, i'll be like a new woman!!
here here!!
rachael, ben and phoebe are successfully moved into their own place now and phoebe is loving the garden and having little ones to play with next door.
i potty trained her while i had her here, so she's doing really well now! she was telling us she wanted her nappy changing all of the time, so i thought... "ok, lets do this". she took to the potty instantly, bless her little heart!! she's just had her 2nd birthday beginning of june. it's amazing how quickly they grow up!!
i'm still not into my sewing really, i walk into my sewing room, then turn around and walk back out again
strange really, previous bouts of depression had me doing nothing but sewing... why so different this time? hopefully the 'love' for needlework will return soon...
well, i need to pop into town to get my $'s for posting my cabin blocks off to vinae...
this will be a super quilt!! can't wait to see all of the blocks!!! i'm thinking of teaming them up with the other blocks from the last cabin swap we did. should be nice!! i hope!!
take care all, love & hugs!!

Good morning.. yesterday the weather looked like it might rain, and this week it's supposed to be in the high 90's, go figure...
my parents are in Huron, SD and had a weather watch while they were in a grocery store and had to move to the backroom and wait... a new experience for Californians.. guess the wind was so strong it knocked over dumpsters.. they are part of a Wally Bynum caravan...so many had wind stories to share that night...
my step-grandma had her lung cancer come back, please say a prayer for her.. she is a sweet little lady...
Suzette, isn't family resembelence amazing? so many related faces that look different enough for us to tell them apart with so many of the same features as other family members...and the parts God has to work with to make them look different aren't many.. nose, eyes, chin... yet for the most part no two are the same..
Lois.. happy sewing.. your DH never did come here with the potato salad, guess I will do without this week...lol
Jules, can't wait to see your quilt idea.. you make such pretty things...
Sandy, I want to see Monsters U.. I love those monsters.
Jacquie.. never saw a fold up bike.. what a treat your parents gave to you.. biking is great exercise... hope the sewing bug bites you soon.
Judi, glad things are slowly getting back to normal for you.. have Ken bring in the leaf blower and blow that cat hair out the door...
for me it's work.. this will be a quick week... one person is out all week so I will do some of her work.. a busy day is a quick day.
hope you all have a marvelous day,
Chriss

Good Morning! I did not post or read yesterday. Our WiFi was down here at the campground and without it, we only can use our ATT aircard, which works great if you have 3G or better signal. Unfortunately, withough WIFI, our signal strength is only "Edge" which is like the old "dial up" signal. Yuk!!!
I didn't want to even try to fight with Internet Explorer. It always comes back with error messages, etc.
It is super to see both Jules and Jacquie on here this morning, (afternoon) for you girls, right?? Don't know how many hours apart we are. Jacquie, I loved your report about your new folding bike. My husband and I are thinking about getting a couple of those. We will have a bike rack on the back of our new RV. I think if we order them, we will order the zipper cover for them to keep any road yuk off of them when we travel.
Jules, sounds like you are expecting a good report - yippee, skippy!!!
Sandy: Lookes like on Radar, that you are getting hit with more and more rain today. You must be about sick of it by now.
Suzette: how neat to be told you resemble your Grandmother, that is very interesting. Do you or any relatives have any pictures to share with you??
Lois: Hope you do get to sew a little. It is something that relaxes me. I haven't been doing very much lately, but hope to get back into the swing of things as soon as we get our new RV and get settled in.
Seems I can't even get into the mood to start anything right now. Except I am keeping up with the monthly lotto blocks. We will soon be getting intructions for the new month very soon.
Goofy weather man here keeps changing the forcast. One minute they report that we will have a whole week without rain, then you find out they change it all and you have a chance of rain everyday for the next week. Saturday it was a doozy, no one was expecting the storms that popped up and neighbors here got caught out on the lake and at the beach. One camper had their awning out and the wind bent the arms of it. Another fellow camper went and rolled it up for them and actually helped to save the awning from total destruction.
My husband had to actually hold ours down, so I went out and helped him by holding it, while he got it stowed away. It was really kinda scary. Got it stowed away, just in time.
Today, I have to go get groceries, I always hate that job. I don't know why, exactly, but it always is a chore. Yesterday, I got the laundry done up and the house cleaned. We've been going through compartments and drawers and cupboards, just cleaning and organizing things to make our move to the new one a little easier.
Well, I have bored you all long enough, time for me to drink my coffee before it gets cold on me.
I will try to check back in after lunch and see who else comes to visit today. It is great to see all your posts and hear your news of the day.
Chriss and Judi: Well, I missed you, cause you popped in here while I was typing all my own jabber. Hope you both have a great day, too.
Hugs
Velda

Re: Monday, June 24th
Good Morning from HOME! It took us 10-1/2 hours to get here yesterday. We were in a 35-mile traffic jam due to construction on I-90 going over Snoqualmie Pass. Took us 3-1/2 hours to traverse that. Dog was no happier than DH. I had my embroidery to play with.
SUZ - do you have any photos of your DGM? I look like my mom more every day. Except she had dark (and later grey) hair.
LOIS - what's going on in your sewing room? Sounds like cleaning rather than sewing. Well, even that is better than not being in there at all!
JULES - Glad you're feeling better and hope your blood levels are back to normal! A new idea - oh, you cut, girl! Can't wait to hear about it!
SANDY - life sounds pretty busy there, even with DH off fishing! After 13 yrs, our sheltie STILL trembles when he hears water running in the laundry tub!
JACQUIE - so happy to see you happier! And exercise is a great mood elevator. What sweet and wise parents you have. And a good gramma to potty train Phoebe!
JUDI - so happy you are feeling better! And isn't it odd that uglies that we really didn't like doing are almost a joy just to be able to do them after a serious illness has kept us down.
This morning we'll be emptying/cleaning the trailer and I'll get Mr. Maytag on the job. Then I have an appt with the oral surgeon and a few groceries to hunt and gather. Maybe I'll even get time to umpack my sewing projects and get organized in the sewing room.
May your bobbin always be full!
