Thursday, June 20th

Post by suzette58 » Wed Jun 19, 2013 9:07 pm

Good morning everyone.
Yesterday I actually got to work on the tube blocks for my Quilts of Honor quilt. I have about 8 more blocks to make for it. I have to decide what I want to use for the sashing and cornerstones. This weekend we will be celebrating our 12th wedding anniversary. We usually go to dinner to celebrate. Every 5 years we go on a trip. Today after work I will go out and work on the tube blocks. Have a great day.

Good morning, SUZETTE, and all still to come. I think I did too much and suffered a painful setback. I was feeling so greatly improved that I went to work 2 days in a row, 6 and 6 1/2 hours. By noon on Tuesday I was in terrible pain, but finished the hours and tasks I had set for myself. By the time I got home, I couldn't even open the car door and needed help getting out! So, I stayed home today to rest my rib, and a good thing, too. This morning I got a phone telling me the woman who brought me into education as my career has died very prematurely! I was glad to be home to weep and mourn all day. I feel like I was sucker punched! I've decided to take advantage of summer flexibility and stay home the rest of the week to rest and recover my composure. I will get my self-portrait made, too.

I'm glad to see Judi might make it home this weekend, but UGH, how miserable to have a UTI on top of everything else she's going through! I hope they gave the drug that immediately relieves the symptoms, at least, so she can be comfortable while the medicine knocks out the infection.

Well, it's late and my pinkie finger is tired of this tablet typing. I'm STILL sleeping in my chair and still not able to handle my laptop yet. Still praying for Judi, and all of you and your loved ones, of course.

Morning girls :)

Suze – can’t wait to see your QOH quilt, and have a lovely anniversary this weekend :)

Jodie – so sorry you overdid it and for the bad news you received, love and prayers sent for a full and speedy recovery

Lois – hope work and the uglies pass quickly so you can enjoy your sewing time :)

I’m almost fully recovered from moving Charley at the weekend, my knees almost feel back to normal, still a bit stiff but better than they were.....having a low day today and would rather just spend the day in bed, probably due to my knees being painful but I’m going to push on through....thankfully I have more good days than bad days now so I’m thinking the antidepressants have finally kicked in and are helping :)

Love and prayers for all who are sick, caring for sick family/friends, going through difficult times or who just need to be carried for a little while

Grammiequilts Judi has her cardiac cauterization on Friday. She is doing okay, I just know that she wants all of this over, and if you know her at all, she wants it over YESTERDAY.
Prayers and positive thoughts going out to all in need.
The last I knew she could not get qiad on her iPad at the hospital.

Good morning...

my campers are home.. only one fish was caught but Marilyn said it was good.. and she had so much fun.. they will likely go fishing again this summer... and we are talking about buying a pull behind tent trailer..and so it begins.

Maryq.. if you can still thread a needle it's all good... I love subway, hope your lunch was good...Jerry and Marilyn really got to KNOW eachother while camping.. there wasn't much else to do but talk... wonderful for her.. she had never been camping with people who weren't stoned...

Cindyg.. if we went to WMart after dark we could get shot or mugged.. there was a news story where a couple came out of Target at 7pm and were robbed... Merced (where these stores are) isn't the safest as the day wears on...good luck with the DP...let me know if you want a block for your mens quilt...

Jana.. the Trek sounds like lots of fun.. hard work but a great lesson.. more kids should know how life was before internet...

Chrissy, thanks for the Judi updates..will keep her in my prayers...enjoy your party weekend.

Shirley Mae.. have a safe trip..

Chickie.. thanks for the note.. I really love that our grands are writing each other... Marilyn wants to go to Kansas so bad.. maybe after she's adopted we will make the rounds, we need to go to Illinois too...

Tina, did you get your cabin blocks done... I want to work on my elf hat blocks this weekend.. fingers crossed.... then someone put a bug in my ear that a calendar swap would be fun.. pick a month and make 12 blocks...

Jodie.. glad you are on the mend... and that the blue jay is fed... we have had crows dining on our plumb tree.. I don't like crows.. guess you need to put off work a little longer.

Kathy... what a blessing to hear from you... and I am so glad you're keeping busy, and that DD is doing well... so??? how is it staying at the ex's house? hope you come home soon...

Suzette, happy anniversary.. enjoy your dinner out... and your tube blocks..

Lois, have a great day.. how is Dolores doing?

Jules.. things are looking up in your direction... glad to hear it.

for me it's work.. yes, again... this weekend I so want to get to my Christmas swap blocks.. I don't like having things undone and want to get them finished...

you all have a splendid day,
Chriss

Suz - happy anniversary this weekend. We celebrated ours last weekend. I'm not too sure what tube blocks are.

Jodie - my gosh, you didn't have a good day. You will be in my prayers, also. Sorry about your education mentor.

Lois - sorry you have to work all day. Enjoy your sewing this evening.

Jules - so sorry about your knees - I can relate! My right knee and my left hip are buggered up so I kind of gimp along for a minute until I get going. Thank goodness for anti-depressants is all I can say.

Chrissy1 - I know Judi must be bored. I'd be climbing the walls. They must be waiting until Friday because of her UTI. I had my heart cath on Saturday evening and went home on Sunday, went back to the heart dr. on Monday so he could check me out and I went back to work on Tuesday. So the UTI must be the reason she's having to be in the hospital for so long.

Last night I did the same old same old......fixed dinner and did a load of laundry and worked on my hand applique. Two friends have been supplying me with tomatoes and cukes from their gardens - yum yum. When I get home tonight it will be the same old same old - will fix dinner, do a load and then hand applique. My DGS,Gavin, and I have a date to watch the Spurs beat the Heat tonight. During my lunch today I'll go for my pedicure. Ahhhhhhh. Our friend,Ed, went for an MRI at the cancer hospital last night (they work and treat 24/7). I think it was going to be a scan of his head. Today and tomorrow he has one on his chest & back and one on his neck and throat.

I hope we can all fondle fabric today.

Good morning, good morning,
Prayers for Judi tomorrow.

We have sunshine today but the temp. started out cool and the furnace kicked on this morning. I finished tying the flannel blanket with buttons and handed that off to Victoria to give to her new MIL who just had knee replacement surgery on Mon. and went home yesterday. I feel bad for her as she is by herself. I was hoping someone would at least spend the first night with her, but I guess she does not want to be a burden to anyone.

Miriam - after you talked about the cherries being ready at the old homestead, I had to check out our trees and they are loaded. All of the fruit trees are loaded this summer - what a difference a lot of snow over the winter makes on the fruit trees! It looks like the cherries are starting to turn ripe, but then it is a race against the birds to get the ripe cherries as the birds will clean the trees in a matter of a few days. I'm also trying to watch the peaches - I'm guessing it is the birds also, but the peach trees can be picked clean almost over night. The apple and pear trees give us plenty of time pick fruit.

Chriss - that is so neat about Marilyn being baptized and I loved her prayer afterwards. I'm going to try and do the third coat of paint this afternoon and any help is welcome! I still have to do the hallway and bathroom and then the upstairs will be done. THEN, it is the downstairs. It almost makes me cry just looking at it - all wood paneling so there will be a lot of brush work filling in between the boards.

Kathy - good to hear things are going well with Kim. I know it is painful, but the weight-bearing actually helps speed the healing process. I broke both heels and they had me in walking casts. And when my mom broke her hip and pelvis, they had her up putting weight on it right away.

Have a great day everyone,
Karlene

Chriss - a pop-up camper would be great. We had one that we camped in for 9 years. We had more fun in that thing. There's more room than you think. Ours had a queen bed on either end, about a 6' counter with cabinets underneath, a stove and sink and an ice box that I only used to store food. We kept cold stuff in the cooler. Now they even have pop-ups with slides-outs and little showers. I'm so excited for you. When do we go shopping for one?

Good morning :o)
Chriss, I'm going to see if I can find the "red" and "WOW" I have in my mind at the Quilt Show tomorrow for my Christmas blocks, DD and Jaz came over yesterday with fabric for a baby quilt so my stuff was put on hold LOL but it was so worth it :o) the cabins are all done and just a few left to stitch around though....I could've finished in the evening but I was hurting too much and decided I'd probably make a mess. What is a calendar swap?
Jodie, I am so sorry for your loss and the pain you are in...((((HUGS))))
Judi, feel better soon ((((HUGS))))
Cindyg, we can double date tonight :o) I sure hope the Spurs whip their hineys!
Jules, I am glad you are starting to feel better,
Karlene, the furnace? Oh my....wish it was that cool here :o)
Suzette, have a happy anniversary :o)
Well I'm going to try to squeeze in finishing up the appliqueing today....we'll see....I have to go into town and fill up with gas :o( yuck-O then get some cash, DD said they'll be over to work on the baby quilt so I know that they'll be here at lunch time for sure LOL she likes to eat here. They are going with me to the Quilt show tomorrow :o) DH and DS are going to go play golf and then we're all going over to my Sis's for lunch and a visit :o) I won't be at home tomorrow till late, we're going to leave just before 7 because it's a 2 hour drive and we have to pick DS up half way.....going to be a busy 2 days! :o) I hope you all have a wonderful day! Prayers for those in need.
Tina
