Suz - you have tried to get in touch with her and she's not responding so I think you should just send the quilts to her and let her make the next move.
Lois - I hope you can get some sewing in today.
Lori - a pat on the back to you for getting your UFOs done.
Teresa - you're smelling smoke?? I guess I need to go back and read and see what's going on with that!
Grammie - sorry you have to take the time off to sew clothing instead of quilting. The things we do for the grands.
Chriss - the laminate floor is easy to put down especially the Click-lock kind where you don't even have to use glue. We've done several floors with it the last being my sewing hole, down the hallway and the other bedroom. You are so right about all the bazillion colors to choose from. It's as bad as going to the LQS - I've picked out all my fabric to make a quilt and on my way to the cutting table I spot a different line of fabric and change my mind.
Kathy - try putting a saucer of coffee grounds in the drawers of your new bureau, or baking soda. It may or may not work. Going to the post office and getting gas is fun??? I hate getting gas - it's $50 to fill up my car. That's just crazy!!!
Please keep prayers going up for Vicki and Ed. It's going to be a long haul getting thru Ed's cancer. Thanks. My guild meeting was last night and Irena Bluhm was our guest speaker. I loved her presentation. And, my gosh, her quilts are beautiful. Today or tomorrow after work I need to go to my quilt student's house to show her how to put binding on. Bless her heart - she was at guild last night and she stumbled and fell - she just about knocked another lady over and she was so embarrassed she started crying. Goodness.
I hope we can all fondle fabric today.

Traci - your May was busy. Glad you are back to normal. Laundry Basket Quilts - isn't that Edyta Sitar?
Maryq - you are a funny girl. I don't even see retirement in my future. We're too poor to retire. I'll probably die right here at my office.
Maryz - I'm glad to see you back here. Oh, definitely make a fabric stop when you go to pick up Stitch. How's the Snick?

Good Morning All,
Just a few lines this morning need to get going. We had a storm last night and got some more rain so thankful for that things are looking green again not sure how much we got.
suzette I would do like Lois said write a letter send it to her you might even ask for a signed card that she got the letter. Then if she doesn't respond just put them on the shelf and wait for her to contact you.
Gee Grammiequilts, you sound like me, I am getting ready to make a couple dresses for my great granddaughter, hope to put binding on the quilt I MADE HER brother today.
Teresa, Sure hope you get over the headache and I too can get headache from certain smells.
Cindyq, prayers going up for ED & Vicki.
Lois, you can come to my house an do some uglies in case you are in need of doing uglies!!!
Lori, congrats on getting your UFO list done or soon to be done that is Great!!
Well got to run work on GGS quilt put binding on. Yesterday I took time out to go to LQS Demo class and also picked up this pkg.(never seen before maybe some of you have & have used it) it's called Transfer Eze suppose to be the fastest way to transfer designs for embroidery, applique, machine and hand quilting, punchneedle and more.
So think I will give it a try see if I like it.
Have a great day.

Re: Wednesday, June 5th
Good morning from soggy Kansas!!! We had a big thunderstorm early this morning that dumped some more rain… not complaining—I remember July through May with nothing… It is lush and green here like the PNW—even ferns in the woods which are usually gone by now. I’m hoping for a bumper crop of blackberries this year instead of dry, black nubbins from last year. We let the birds have them.
Traci—so glad you checked in!!! Don’t you live in the OKC area? How did you fare? Congratulations on your anniversary!!!
Chriss—when my jelly didn’t jell, I found it made a delicious ice cream topping or even used in “poke cake” instead of Jello, then topped with whipped cream…
MaryZ—Welcome home!!! I definitely think you should stop at the LQS to make the trip—gas and toll—worthwhile!!!
MaryQ—I used to make the GunneSax patterns for my DD when she was in high school. I did some prom outfits as well as other dresses—loads of ribbons and laces. Loads of work, but beautiful and cost so much less than purchasing them!
It’s raining again! Rennie just came in the doggie door, so I put her out and told her to “go home!” She’s probably in the shop where she has made a big mess. We have barn swallows nesting on a lighting fixture, so can’t leave the door down… Of course, I locked down the doggie door…
Pat—I haven’t seen the Transfer Eze… need to check it out!
Sorry I missed most of you personally… I need to go make myself presentable for public. I’m making a run today to Pittsburg for Home Depot, Big Lots, Wal-Mart, IGA (grocery store), and the flower nursery… oh, and Chicken Annie’s for dinner… Hope it’s not pouring rain the whole time, but oh, well!
Talk to you later… Happy Wednesday!

Good morning!
Oh do I remember Gunne-Sax! We had the outlet in San Francisco and I would go over all the time and buy dresses for Sarah and one floor had all the fabrics and trims! Made many of them too! I still have a piece of silk - beautiful - too chicken to cut in it yet and it has been almost 25 years! One of these days! LOL
Not much today - Ethan is here already and his Dad has a interview today with BYU to work for them. That is the job they are really hoping for. He would be working with BYU's Independent Study that is online.
The topsoil that was delivered next door is really good and we will order ours from them in a week or so - we need to rent a tractor with a tiller and level the dirt we have before - Matt has laid dibs on doing that job! Men and their toys! LOL
I got a table runner cut out yesterday and ready to start assembling - when little one is asleep.
DH is making a milk run to the store - we are totally out and like many of you with coffee - I need my milk in the morning!
Maryz - gald to see you back and that you had such a relaxing time!
Chriss - I love yellow - I am trying out colors for my laundry room - not sure yet - but red, white, and blue - together - are the front runners
Cindyg - it will be a hard road for your friends, but you will be a blessing in their lives.
Miriam - I love irises - the tall bearded ones - I have a few short type in the ground here and will be adding the tall ones as soon as I can.
Judi - your plate is full! Sounds a little like around here on some days! LOL I am looking forward to sewing dresses for my little Emma - she is almost big enough to fit the patterns that I have - I saved all that I used to sew for Sarah when she was little - she is 36 now!
Kathy - I know how you feel - even a run to the gas station is fun around here!
Lori - I have a huge UFO list - you interested? LOL One of these days I will get started on mine. Good job - done so fast this year!
Teresa - glad that the smoke has died down - we are just praying that no fires happen here this year.
Tracy - congrats on 22 years - I am heading up to our anniversary - it will be 38 in August - just got my husband trained after all these years! LOL
Maryq - Yeah on the count down! It really isn't that long and you will find you are busier that before you retired! I need to send you some of the extra sunshine I have here - we have more that is needed!
Well my breakfast needs to be cooked to be ready when DH gets back - that is if he ever hurries up and leaves!
Have a great day!
Hugs
Jana

Re: Wednesday, June 5th
i used to sew all of DD clothes when she was little,,,But I liked to buy her "Polly Flinders" dresses too. I did make her "Gunne Sac" dresses too. they had there own fabric line too. I think I used to buy it at "Minnesota Fabrics" a store here that is long gone. I remember loaning my patterns out to someone and never got them back. it would have been fun to sew the little dresses from the same pattern I used for her MOm. I still have one dress I made her was a reproduction of the 1800s dress with bloomers Her class had a trip to a school museum and they were encouraged to dress in period. Some of the boys had suspenders and knickers,,,It is too big for Sophia yest but I am keeping it. Wish I had those patterns...well need to get ready to go to the commencement. XXXOOO PS Maryq I wish I had time to come and help.....but with my luck it would snow there...<3

Re: Wednesday, June 5th
Here is the link to the fire that sent MEGA smoke traveling far. It was so thick at one time that I couldn't see across the street. We have swamp coolers so the minute you turn it on the smoke and the smell come in. Robb had to go to work Sunday so I didn't turn them on but when he came home he did. Not good. I think in another day or two all the smell should be gone.
I am awake now as you can tell unless I type in my sleep. My friend Cindy is coming over and we are going to work on organizing the middle room. I will donate all the stuffed animals to the Salvation Army as the Fire Dept has regulations they need to follow as to what they can give out to the kids. Then it is back to sewing and watching the French Open Tennis matches. Thanks Vinae for being OK with me switching the 6" block. I saw that it wasn't being made and didn't think you would have any issues with it. I should have asked first. My apologize.

Good afternoon/evening -
I could have sworn I posted, but it must have been in a dream because I sure don't see it!
I had the fire going again - it's 52 here now. Oh well, we'll be in the 90s by Saturday. Not much happening here, and now I have to go fix dinner.
Sounds like y'all had enough to keep you out of trouble - so until tomorrow, I bid you adiue!
xoxo Sharona

Re: Wednesday, June 5th
Good evening everybody,
I finished up some baby quilts this afternoon and got them in the mail to babies that are already here. I just have two more to tie and send for already born babies, and then the other six are for babies that are on their way. Hopefully I will be left with a few 'in-stock' so that I'll be ahead of the game for awhile!
I was able to post some pics of my latest quilt finishes - the silhouette quilt goes back to a year ago and the blue ombre quilt is the first one I've started and finished this year. I did get 3 other quilt tops put together this week and need to go searching through my stash for some border fabrics for them. So that is what I've gotten done with this burst of quilting energy. I hope it lasts a little longer as I'd like to finish a few more WIPs.
Does anyone have an Etsy shop?
