Good morning Lois and those that follow.
I was so tired yesterday that I didn't get into my studio. After work today I am going to get the binding started and also get the label done. Tomorrow I am off work so I should get a lot done on my Jacob's Ladder quilt. I have to get things packed up for my lunch and think about going to work.

Also went to see the my sis and the quilt from #$%^ I had a lot of trouble with her LA it eyelashed all day dispite all the trouble shooting we could do. It involved a lot of frogging but finally it got done, She really needs to get her LA looked at as I think it needs a good over haul. It has been runnning for 5 years with n o service, She has a Tin Lizzie,
my friend and quilting student will be coming over this week I will teach her how to LA her quilt. She made a t shirt quilt and finally got it finished, Now wants to learn to quilt it. We always have fun together, I have done my part in perpetuating the art of quilting.

Sorry this isn't a better picture. Last night Caleb "walked" for his graduation! My baby is all grown up and my homeschooling days are officially over (well I still need to do the paper work)
He played Canyons and Waterfalls a beautiful peaceful piece on the piano. He flatly refused to wear a cap and gown
All the others in his class were girls! He said that was a good thing and he didn't mind at all standing on stage with all the young ladies. (if Emily got a better picture I will post it later)

[/img]
My Brother in law leaves today for two weeks... the calls have already started (at 6 this morning!). I will be leaving here in a few minutes to go and take care of things with my MIL and take her to the dr today. I spent 6 hours at the ER with her on Sunday. Busy, busy, busy.....
No sewing the last few days and I'm getting antsy to get in there and work on Kim's quilt.
Have a great day.
Vicky

Good morning.. today is the last day of school for Marilyn.. she is already awake and she and Jerry are making cupcakes for the class.. she is doing the measuring and beating and he is supervising and stepping in where needed..... they only go for 3 hours today and then are done...
their summer plans are to paint inside the house, mine are to work
yesterday I got almost all my scraps cut into usable pieces.. only a little more to go
I'm going to leave early and get gas, thankfully I pack my lunch the night before because the cupcake couple have taken over the kitchen...
Lois.. hope you find a veggie stand.. do they have roadside stands there.. here there are people who have plots of land and grow many different things and sell them from a little shack on the side of the road.. local fresh produce is a wonderful thing.
Suzette, hope work is going well for you... I have wanted to tie my quilt but it's been so hot... I am thinking maybe I should make something else till it gets cooler then I would have two to tie...
Judi, wonder what it costs to service a quilt machine.. that could be a good birthday gift... glad you were able to get the quilts done...
Kathy, your daughter is blessed to have you...do you have an idea of how long you'll be gone? do you have some sewing projects to take with you? glad you can update us with DD's laptop...
Vicky, congrats to Caleb.. don't know why I picture him much younger and shorter than he is... hope things calm down for you soon.
almost time for me to leave, you girls have a super day,
Chriss

Good morning!
Lois - I sure hope you find a local stand. We will be looking shortly - it's still too early for anything out here.
Suzette - sorry you were too tired. Happy sewing to you.
Judi - how nice of you to visit the quilt from he$$. I agree - sounds like she needs to get it serviced. How lovely of you to perpetuate the art of quilting! I'm duly impressed by all of you who can post before coffee.
Kathy - happy furniture arrival day! And how lovely that they are early. Good luck to you and your daughter - hope she is back on her feet in no time.
Vicky - what a handsome young man - congrats on being done with the home schooling! Good luck with your DMIL - you'll have an even busier two weeks I would assume.
Chriss - sure wish I could have one of those cupcakes. Happy last day of school to Marilyn. Y'all are such good parents to her.
I made 7 pints of strawberry rhubarb jelly, and then made a strawberry rhubarb pie that was reeeeeaaaally good. I've never had one before - I found a recipe that used a tsp of orange zest. Today will be the weekly Costco run and cleaning o'the house. I read a Longmire book yesterday which was good. Does anyone on here watch Game of Thrones? My Oh DDIL and I were in shock and were talking well past midnight her time....! ok - best get my hiney in gear. Have a lovely day! xoxo Sharona

Hi, the deverry people didn't get here early. I'm now in the time slot they gave me. I'm hoping being on the computer will cause them to show up.....LOL
Vicky...congratulation to you & Caleb!! You did a wonderful schooling you childern. It's a big responsibility...
Chriss....Happy Dance for Marilyn!!!! And cup cakes too!! I have 2 hand quilting projects to take. I hope to be gone 2 weeks. Just untill she can care for herself. Plus prior to this whole thing she has been very depressed...a gift from her abusive ex, so her apartment is a mess. We need to clean & get rid of things. I want her to fine a good therapist too. Even if I have to look my self.
Well they're still not here.
Love & Prayers

Good morning, good morning quilting buddies!
It is a blue-sky morning and the heat & humidity of last week are a memory. Rich and Victoria came down to spend the evening on Sunday and we had a good time. She is still losing weight, but starting to show baby bump. (So is Rich!)
Dorothy - so glad you have this time with Kathy!
Chriss - what a pain with the process. That is great that Marilyn is making and bringing cupcakes. I always looked forward to the last days of school before summer.
Sharona - I have not watched Game of Thrones but heard that the ending had the fans talking.
Vicky - congratulations to Caleb (and to you)!
I hope to finish up a binding tonight, and I have two tops that just need the rows sewn together. I'm going big with my chain stitching(sewed these two tops by row in consecutive order since both were 6 blocks wide) which works well as long as I keep everything straight, but if I mess up, it will be a big mess up. The things I do that are really motivated by laziness!
Have a wonderful day,
Karlene

Chriss - I just read your post from yesterday about putting a wood laminate in your kitchen. Did you know they have tile that looks like wood now? My friend put it in her house and it looks gorgeous. I'm just sayin'.......
Lois - I LOL at you saying the fruit is 'nasty looking'. My DGD says 'nasty' all the time. I hope you find your farmer's market.
Suz - I hope you thought enough about work to make it there. LOL You are funny.
Grammie - I'm pretty proud of my quilt student. She has finished her second one - a Day and Night quilt. She quilted it on her domestic machine and I even showed her how to do free-motion quilting in the border on her domestic. Next is the binding.
Kathy - I must be behind. I thought you were already at your daughter's. Have a safe trip.
Vicky - I think Caleb should have worn a cap and gown. How many times in your life does one have the opportunity to wear it? But that cap and gown isn't what matters in the long run. He's done with school and so are you - WOO HOO. Let's celebrate!
Chriss - congrats on getting your house painted while you are at work. That's the way to do it - LOL. How nice of Marilyn to want to take cupcakes to her class.
Sharona - never heard of Game of Thrones. Heck, we just discovered Downton Abbey. We are watching season 2 now. I'm so addicted to that show.
I have the doldrums. My BFF's husband has inoperable stage 3B lung cancer that has spread up to his neck. She is trying to run him around to doctors, take care of their donut shop and also run Ed's donut mix business. I wish they lived closer so I could go there in the evenings and do something to help. Anyway, when the biopsy results come back the surgeon he is seeing now will refer him immediately to M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Prayers will be appreciated. I put a label on a men's cancer quilt last night - when I was making that prayer quilt I never dreamed that our best friend would be the recipient. I'll take it out there this weekend and spend some time with him and we'll help Vicki with whatever she needs us to do. In the meantime, tonight is quilt guild night and Irena Bluhm is our guest speaker. Should be interesting.
I hope we can all fondle some fabric today.
