We are going out for breakfast this morning and relaxing the day away, leftover fried chicken and macaronin salad is on the menu. Hope you all have a great day....XXXOOO

Chrissy, there are a lot of celebrations in your life with birthdays and graduations and such... it must be fun to be you...

Judi, glad you're having fun... fried chicken and mac salad sounds wonderful....

Suzette, glad you're having a nice visit...what pattern are you using for the Valor quilt?

yesterday my son came over, we watched the ball game and played UNO.. then we visited grandma and had pizza... it was a good day.

and.. I got a quilt sandwiched.. wasn't sure I could do it but it's all pin basted now.. I want to tie this one and have the binding all ready to attach... it's only 5 inch charms and there are 12 rows of 16.... I don't get to sew too much anymore.

Good Morning!

JUDI - the fun (and good luck!) never stops with you! happy camping!

CHRISS - sounds like it's good to be Chriss! Is that the charm quilt you were working on a while ago to use up scraps? Sorry you have little sewing time now. What about hexie time? Can you work on them during TV and such? Looking forward to SP time again!

Hi to all who follow after me!

Today is my parents' 79th wedding anniversary. I was looking at the photo of that young couple that I have hanging in the hallway and thinking of all that's happened in the intervening years and the adventures (and MISadventures!) they had.

We're leaving this morning for a week of camping. Unlike Judi, we won't have internet as we'll just be boondocking across the mountains in the woods. We MAY have phone. You all behave until we get back! And I'll miss all of you!

Good morning!

Judi - clean underwear would be my measuring stick as well. I trust you took your winnings to a LQS. Breakfast out sounds lovely. Poor people, having to go back to work.

Chriss - I feel your pain about not getting much sewing done. I remember seeing a tomato worm when I was young - it had horns on it even. It scared me right good, and it was UGLY. Happy flicking...

Miriam - your poor DH - his day did sound rather icky. Stubborn indeed.

Kathy - how do you get your mulch moved around? I can drag mine. You're right - they are heavy.

Maryz - glad to hear that Snickers is still doing his doggie things.

Jana - I'm so glad your talk went well. I wouldn't be able to do that for love nor money.

Mel - I bet you had fun with DGS yesterday.

DH woke me up and asked me at 5am if the water was on. Then he asked me if it was the heat. At 5am! Now he is out sweeping the driveway before coffee and it's 6:15. Ugh... Today is Costco and more mulching. Have a great day! xoxo Sharona

Good sunny Morning......

I had a wonderful sewing day yesterday. I'll continue today unless my sister calls & we go to Worcester to have my drivers licence changed. When I went to the bank last week I found it had expired. I need a MA one anyways. Other than that nothing going on here.

Judi....happy to hear you won some $$$$$!

Chriss....I'm sure your tomatoes will grow big and fat. I'll let you know when I get a flower. They really need rain they grow better with that rather than watering...that's what I think.

Maryz....have a wonderful week!! We'll miss you.

Sharona....My mulch is in bags. I'll back the car out making it 15' closer to where the mulch will go then just drag the bags out out the car. Was your DH having a dream or was he awake? Happy mulching..

Love & Prayers.....

Good Morning to All!

They say there is a possibility of storms this afternoon, right now its pretty nice.
I did get some sewing done yesterday at my daughters.....DGS quilted 3 more of the Charity quilts so we are gaining need 44. I am working on some pillows for my friend got the forms all bought and the fabric cut now to sew them today and that is my plan! So I can deliver them on Thurs. if we go to Wichita. Then all of my "other peoples projects" will be finished except the charity quilts probably be working on them all summer.
Chriss......I hope to work on my "charm" quilt of sorts today or at least this week. I cut up a bunch of fabric into 5" sqs. using one of them rulers with the slots in it can't remember the name they are pretty cool. Plan on making twin size or large throws some of my throws are getting old looking.

Teresa...glad you had a nice birthday.

Farmchick.....I know what you mean I water and it just seems to go away as soon as I water. The ground is so dry! They were showing pictures of some of the lakes up here around Wichita and they look so pit a full it is scary Wichita said they were going to start fining people like $1,000.00 if they use more than their quota. So far the town we live in hasn't said anything but I do try not to be waste
full.
Sounds like your DH had quite a day...but hear you ..they dlon't listen to us women.

Maryz....have a great time! Wish I could stowed away in your closet or some place would love to go camping but don't think that will happen.

Maryq....Glad you are home! Anxious to hear about your time with the new little one.

Kathyquilts...glad you had a great sew day yesterday!! Makes one feel good when you know you have accomplished something.

I do hope every one has a great day and for some its back to work or a more "normal" routine.

I hear DH up and puttering around so better close and get him some breakfast so we can work out in the yard a bit before it gets to hot or the storm hits. Then I can come in and sew.

For the Quilts of Honor quilt I am making one of those tube quilts. I think it will turn out great. I just need to figure out what color to use as the saying and cornerstones.

Good morning!

We had a great day with the kids yesterday. The busiest two places were the cemeteries and the ice cream store! At the university - it is a AG school - they have a creamery that makes the best ice cream! The kids waited about 30 minutes to get a cone. The headstones cleaned up very nicely - Stu carried the water back from the faucet a ways away while Matt used muratic acid to clean off the calcium build up. I have lots of pics - just need to get them off my camera.

Today is my activity girls day this afternoon - we will be making cards for a project.

Not much else here -
Have a great day
Hugs
Jana

Good morning from drizzly NY,
I had a productive and quiet weekend. The temps were a little cool, but it was bright sunshine which is always welcome. I'm starting to get a back-log of hand sewing items from finishing bindings to tying baby blankets - along with the two 30's tops that I'm hand quilting. It takes me awhile to set my mind for doing sewing by hand, but once I start it is not too bad. The bindings and blanket tying is not bad, but applique and hand quilting are not something I look forward to.

Miriam - I saw a picture this month of a beautiful tree and wrote down the name - it was a Bougainvillea! I know you will enjoy yours! Isn't that interesting about the differences in Amish communities? David' sister is in MI and she has said that the communities by them are similar to the ones by you. I've gone a couple times to one that is SW of us and it is like the one you visited.

Maryz - have a lovely time on your camping trip - we will miss you

Maryq - welcome back! It must be a harsh reality to return to work today, but hope you have some more pics of your grandson.

Kathy - We have to renew our driver's licenses this year too. I need to correct our address on them as they still list our P.O. box.

Chriss - your plate it full right now, but you are doing an amazing job! Glad you had some time with your son.

Mel and Teresa - Happy Belated Birthday! (Mel, hope you enjoyed your long weekend)

Sharona - how is your knee doing? And what woke your DH up so early? Ugh, I'm not an early morning person.

Irish - sorry you were not able to go to the graduation. I was talking with my mom this weekend and they had gotten together with some of dad's cousins. She was telling me about the different aging problems each is dealing with, and then said, "We are all just getting old!" I told here the alternative was dying young and we giggled. But it is not easy.

Joanne - are you out there? We miss you and the stories from the front porch!

Well, it is a quiet week here as the Pastor is gone to a conference and the college had graduation last weekend so I won't see much of the other pastor over the summer. We have a new pastor who will be starting in late Aug. and his wife's due date for their first baby was on Sat. We are waiting to hear news from them. I have 6 baby blankets almost finished, and as I was counting up babies, I think I need to make a few more. (I've gotten a little behind, and one baby will be turning 1 this summer so I better get these done!)

Have a great day,
Karlene
