Good Sunny Morning.....

I'm not sure what my day will hold for me. Since I've been home from Long Island I'm having trouble focusing on any thing for too long. I do need a trip to the PO, Home Depot & WM. Yesterday's trip to the children's clothing store was a big success. Now I have to mail them to TX.

My DD's update is today or tomorrow she will be going in to rehab to learn to deal with the ankle & laying around for 5 weeks.

Maryz....we sure wouldn't want you doing anything not 'legal'. I like the ride on the ferry especially when it cuts 2hrs off the trip to NY.
I'm so happy to Jim will be out on Wed!! More answered prayers.

Teresa....I'm happy to hear you are in less pain. I know that no matter how I try I'm crabby when I'm pain.

Lori....I agree the older you get the more little pains you collect.

Be back Sis is on the phone.........................

Good morning!

We too are in for thunder and lightning - for most of the week here - that is one thing nice about the spring weather here - wait 5 minutes and the weather changes! LOL

Church was great yesterday - there is a little girl, about three, who had open heart surgery on Monday last week - she was at Church yesterday! Everything went just perfect and she came home on Thursday -

Ethan is due to arrive here any minute and today is my day to watch Emma and Tanner - so I will be busy today. Have a few uglies to keep up with too.

Have a great day
Hugs

Good Monday morning! I’ve been AWOL a couple of days. Saturday was busy with running around and visiting, and yesterday we had friends over for trail rides and dinner. Saturday I stopped in at my sister’s and saw the results of their glass classes at Las Vegas. My BIL is making unbelievable marbles and doing some glass blowing. My sister does mostly cast pieces with frits (colored glass powders)—jewelry, wind chimes, candle plates, bowls… It was fun to check out, and my sister gave me a couple of beads which I put on my neck chains. They are similar to the Pandora/style beads.

Yesterday was lots of fun, although it was cool and no sun. Wonder of wonders, I was looking for wildflowers and found some morels! Jan and Steve had never seen or had them, so when we came back to the house for dinner, I fixed morels to go with her Irish pub potato soup and hot rolls, and my salad. We had my cheesecake and coffee for desert. Jan became an instant morel aficionado/addict! They were especially good yesterday! Good company, good food—what a great day! Odie and Tinker Bell had a fun time with us. Rennie from across the road also loped along and got good exercise with our dogs.

Jules—your trapunto is beautiful! Do you lay the yarn down next to the seam and use a zipper foot next to it, or do you have to thread the yarn through the channels? I’ve never done it. I also really like your fabric!!! UPDATE—now I read your instructions! That would definitely be time consuming, but oh so beautiful!!! I can see where my method would only work on the straight lines—her method works on everything and larger stuffings… I saw on my calendar where you are having a holiday—no banking… SUN!!! Beautiful!!!

MaryZ—great news with Jim! I’ve been to Seattle once and loved it!!! You were up really late for you!!!

Teresa—I’m looking forward to seeing the McKenna Ryan quilt! I want to start some of my blocks one of these days… I know Courtney will have a wonderful time in the UK! Wouldn’t it be neat if she could meet up with Jules or Jacquie! Best wishes for your doc appointment!

Lori—I’m glad to hear you still have some WIPs! I was worried that you were going to be sitting wringing your hands with nothing to work on!

Suzette—I really like your JL quilt and the layout you used! You have to look closely to see the individual blocks.

Velda—after our friends left and our tummies were full… I hit the sofa, too. Then I did some hand quilting so the lazies didn’t completely overtake me. It was a good day! I’ve been wrestling with re-sizing some blocks, too. Every so often I have a “DUH!” moment…

Judi—I was looking at a little catalog at Mom’s on Saturday and saw the cutest cup mug rugs. There were also some mug hot pads. I may have to do some trial blocks and then some gifts, too. My coffee cup is empty… need to get a refill with you! The critters in my gardens are rabbits and Rennie (the huge puppy from across the road)… You can plant castor bean plants to get rid of the moles. Of course, now with the reisn gas/power scares… They do make neat big plants… Some friends always planted them for mole repellent.

Chriss—good ideas for tomatoes!!! We put all of ours (all 5 plants) in big feed tubs with holes drilled in the bottoms. We are still hoping to raid some gardens for tomatoes this summer…

Sharona—did your snow go away? Can’t wait to see your quilt!!! Love those batiks!!! Oh, all the ponds are full except for the one by the house… It filled nicely, but not all the way. Unfortunately, all the work we had done last year on the dam… it still leaks!!! Drat!!! I guess DH is going to have to look at some other options to get the dam wall sealed. Apparently we don’t have enough clay and there is a rock vein that lets the water seep. We are losing an inch of depth a day—quite a little creek down the back of the dam… Thankfully, the leak is high enough on the wall that we still have enough depth for our geo-thermal heat pump coils to be submerged properly…

Karlene—I had a cardinal that sat on my car mirror where I worked and did the same thing. I was excited to see a Baltimore Oriole yesterday, and he had found my oriole feeder! They are beautiful!!!

Kathy—have a fun day!!! You sound so happy in your new home and city!!! Hope Kim adapts to her rehab and makes a full recovery!

Jana—I thought it was Kansas and Missouri with the crazy weather… Who knew? Utah!!! Have fun with the little ones!!!

I’m not sure what all my day will bring… I have to take Odie to town to get his stitches removed this afternoon. I think we will go walking and look for the last of the morels, too. I can’t believe they are out this late, but the weather has been so strange…

Have a great day!

Good Morning All!

We have sun shining today but forecast is storms and rain through Fri, hopefully it will wait until late Tues. to start as son is coming to start putting up the new fence he got the poles all sat on Sat. I hope to get out and work in the yard a little bit today but also need to do some sewing have not been as active in the sewing dept this past week. I did bring home all the charity quilts (8) that GGS quilted for me he does a pretty good job he is doing meandering trying to keep them all fairly uniform so some people wont get upset if theirs isn't as fancy as another person.
Teresa glad to hear you are doing better! That back pain can really get you down. That is so cool your daughter is going to England!!

Thanks Chriss I think it is going to be one of those things I will have to live with if I don't want to take the chance of surg. so will have to limit my sewing/typing anything that I use my right hand alot in the activity. GGS does a good job nothing fancy. I give him a little spending money so he is happy and I am too!

Jules, I love your Trapunto!!! I bought a book once was going to try it maybe I will yet but I do like it!

Grammiequilts.....Sounds like a neat idea for Christmas what pattern are you using? I've been toying with a couple ideas for Christmas gifts but hadn't thought of mug rugs!!! I have so many to make for I need to watch what I decide to do as get started on them pretty soon as I am not as fast as I use to be hahaha!

Suzette....Your quilt is beautiful! can't wait to see it after its quilted.

Maryz......Oh you talking about the view from the ferry reminds me of a trip we took to Cape Lookout Lighthouse we had to ride a scif (not spelled right I am sure but its a very small boat) anyway coming back, looking back at the Lighthouse was such a beautiful sight I'll never forget it.
Glad your brother is coming home and doing so much better. That is so sweet of Jim to get things ready for him as well. Enjoy your company.

Sharona......It is so much fun to get a pkg in the mail esp. if it has "fabric" inside.....Just like Christmas! Have fun with your new fabric.

Velda....its okay to have a lazy day I had quite a few here lately just can't seam to get motivated or maybe its becuz I have to many UFO, WIP, whatever I really want to start something different but know I shouldn't. Maybe when the rain starts this week I'll get in the mood.

Well, my time is up and then some......hear DH puttering around in the kitchen so best got see what is going on. :>)

Have a great day everyone and all those that follow...sorry if I missed anyone.

It's been a while since I've had time to sit and write in here. I've tried to read up a little each day, but haven't even done that to well. Last night I returned home after a weekend of meetings, classes and just plain watching out for Bonnie Hunter. Boy, do the quilters who follow her ever love her! She does a wonderful teaching job, and has quiet a personality. Some of the ladies have taken many, many classes from her. It took two years to get her here for our guild weekend, and she's now booking for 2016 and beyond! She seemed to really enjoy Maine, and the weather was great.

I'm hoping things are going to settle down a bit for me soon. Tomorrow is wedding dress fitting day for the lady I'm making the dress for. So far she has only seen pictures of it. Fingers crossed that she loves it,and it fits!!

Mary z---Seattle can be a lot of fun, especially if the weather is good. It's so pretty, and there is a lot to see and do. I used to like to visit there when we lived in Oregon.
Kathy--I'm glad your daughter is doing well. I'm sure you are happy to be back home too. Thank goodness things turned out well from such a strange beginning.

Well, I guess the guys pumping the septic tank are done, so back to other things.
My best to all and happy sewing!
Joan

Good morning :o)
We spent Friday all day at DD's, DH put up a divider fence for the dogs to be able to stay out of where she wants to plant grass and a little garden. If she wants them out there while they are out there she justs opens the gate up so they can play. Bailey will be staying a week or so with us, him and Duncan are getting fixed on the 10th and we have grass here so we thought it would be best for him to stay here till he's all healed up and his stitches out :o) I told DH that he'll have to help with the lap sitting/tv watching in the evenings LOL I don't think I could have them both on me LOL well if Bailey would sit like Duncan does I could....he sits like a little human kid on his butt with his back in the crook of my arm and he watches tv with me :o) every once in awhile he looks at me and gives me a quick kiss and back to watching tv LOL it is funny :o) Saturday morning we went back over for DH to put up the last 2 top rail pieces and also a gate latch then DD and Jazmyne stayed her all of the weekend :o) and I have Jaz today because there's no school today! Loved my weekend! I need to try and get some uglies done today....we'll see how much I can do with my back. I need to call my dr today and see what else is going to be done about my back....I hope it's not going to include going out of town to another dr, I get so tired of having to travel an hour to see a dr! We'll see......
My sister is moving to Alamogordo! :o) She already paid her 1st months rent on a place and will be packing up and leaving on the 13th to start her trip down here, she lives in St. Regis, Montana so it'll take her a few days and then she'll get all moved in and then head over here either the 17th or 18th and stay a few days here then go back to Alamo to find a job. Any prayers you can spare for her safe trip and to get a job would be most appreciated. She's trying to get a new start on life and will be divorcing her very controlling husband as soon as she gets the money together.
Well I've been sitting here typeing a book LOL I hope you all have a wonderful day! Prayers for those in need.

Good Morning Ladies,

Today is a day that is going to be spent in the sewing room. I am working on the embroidery machine today, and hand appliqueing the border on my double wedding ring quilt. I am in the process of making a throw for each of my 6.5 GK. Reagan should make her appearamce the early part of June. I am embroidering snowmen (different ones) on 20 blocks each for the girls, and sports (whichever the boys are doing) on the throws for the boys. This is something I can work on while we are in the motorhome. LOL as long as we are parked.

I have been so busy trying to wrap things up here, cleaning the motor home, and deciding what sewing I am taking with me. Yes. dear Jane is already on the dining room table waiting to go. She was making so much noise I couldn't stand it. Packed the wine to go with her. we are leaving here on the 16th and hoping to meet up with Tina later in that afternoon.

MaryZ - I am so, so happy to hear thsat Jim is going home. WHOO HOO!!
Hope he is able to enjoy his food so much better now. You and Bill are such good people. Bill is one in a million to go over to help your brother out. What a guy.

Chriss - you are so right, at 1/2 of a Chriss day is better than none.

Judi - So sorry about your Red Wings. DH and DS are big Red Wing fans and I hear it on this end when they are having a bad day or night.

The big thing here in AZ is Jodi Aires. Verdict Watch!!! If they let her go after what she did to that guy I will be in such shock. I really think she is dangerous. Men stay away from her. LOL

Well I better run and recheck my sewing packing. Love and lots of hugs to all.

Afternoon Pals from the cabin in the woods. It's good to be home even if it is cool and rainy. Sure enjoyed my beach time.
Here's a funny for all you hexie gals. I took my hexies to do in the car when I got tired of reading. So, I pulled out my box on the second day only to find that my DGD3 had taken the needles! Oh Well! I read 3 books.
Hugs and prayers for all!

Good afternoon ladies! Well, its going to be a girl! Yeah!

I haven't had much time or energy to get my sewing done. I hope maybe next week to get the Puss on Point top done and move on to another project!

Everyone seems to be busy! Sending prayers and hugs to all!
