I am going to try and work on these today. Have to take the DGS tux back and get my white ironed but other than that, pretty free day after church.

Here is my block number 1. The site I used calls it "Party Hats" but if I remember right there is also a star name for it. The blue is a small plaid but not sure it will show in the pic. Don't ask me how I got the angle I did. Should have stood on the chair and took it straight on like I usually do. Very easy block to make.

Here is a picture of my blocks. Teresa, you know that I was having some problems sizing. I have added borders to my "short" blocks. If that is acceptable, then I will go ahead and submit all 4 blocks.

If you think that would not be appropriate, then I will send in the two others that I got sized correctly.

My feelings will not be hurt if you decide that all 4 cannot be entered. I respect and trust your judgement fully!!!!

Nice blocks Velda. I like the sashing around the edge. Lori

Mailed today, tracking number:
9114 9010 7574 2659 4122 69

Now for the hand of the picker:

To the tune of “Mary had a Little Lamb”

Forum friends made these blocks, made these blocks, made these blocks. Forum friends made these blocks and had a “star good” time.

All the star blocks asked to come, asked to come, asked to come. All the star blocks asked to come live with me.

The hand of the picker, picker, picker; the hand of the picker agreed with them.

Edited for spelling

WOW - ALL the blocks are FIRECRACKER FABulous so far!! Send my way PLEASE :) :) :)

Velda - What I love about the Lotto is ... it is a place for learning new blocks, practicing old blocks and always playing with color combinations and COTTON!!!! If you are happy with how it turned out and you did your best and it is a block that you would like to recieve if someone else made it ... then I will never turn away efforts of the heart. It looks like you did master the sizing. Your sashing is OK as it is always up to the winners to choose what they would like to make from the blocks whether it be in the quilt itself or maybe, perhaps a pillow to accessorize it. So PLEASE send ALL 4 of them. They look GREAT :) :) :)

The Poetic bribe is adorable and I have that song in my head now as I go off to bed - giggling - wonder if I will get any sleep - LOL!!!

Thanks, Teresa and Zfatcat. I will be mailing them today.

When I add the star border, I had watched Eleanor's TV program and learned the mitered corner as her method, so I felt like I was in Eleanor's classroom this month. Practised the Flying Geese, mitered corners, and learning just how to resize a pattern to make it fit your design.

It was quite fun! Now to look forward to the special package that is traveling over hill and dale to come to me. This time, I am going to do a better job of keeping track of the names that go with each block. I kept all the names and where the blocks came from for my Feb. quilt, but I wish I would have captured a picture of each close up and put the name with the picture.

It will tell the story of each block so much better to be able to look back in years to come and know which cotton pal made the beautiful block that graces my quilt. I am very happy to stitch all the memories together.

Thanks again, ALL!!
