Re: Friday 19 April
Good morning all! Last night was the induction of the new officers into my quilt guild, I am the new secretary, this should be fun!
Other than that, didn't get anything done last night. I will continue to sort scraps till Sunday probably. Will have to decide then what I'm gonna do. Maybe do a mini scrap project!
As with everyone else, if you are in the Boston area, please be safe! They will catch this guy!
Sending Prayers & hugs!
Traci

Good Morning from MinneSNOWta! 12" on my deck this morning! Made it home in one piece was work last nite--didn't got faster than 25mph all the way. The snow was coming down sideways! and it some spots you couldn't tell where the road was! The good news, it is supposed to get up to 50 on Sunday and RAIN! that will help all this mess melt fast!
Chriss... Congratulations to your son!! What a nice looking young man! How nice of you to be chauffeur for Marilyn's friends. I bet it's nice for Marilyn to have found a great group of friends. Giggle buddies!
Maryz... yes that snow is breath taking... especially when you're driving it in and the car starts to slip and slide! I'll just be glad when it's ALL GONE! Jen laughed because it was 40 and sunny in AK yesterday! I think my calendar is stuck on December!
Carolyn... what a world we live in when somebody in a TANK tells us to stay inside! Hope she minds tho, and stays in as much as possible!!
Velda.... prayers for your SIL... poor thing.
Chrissy... how nice to hear from MO and I'm glad he is liking boot camp. I think the Marines are pretty tough, so it's good he likes it! I hope you hear from Kathy today too, and hope her daughter is doing much better!
Traci...Congrats on your new position with your guild! Still sorting scraps? You've gotten me motivated to sort mine as well, but I think I'll hold off until I get back from vacation. Little does my new room mate know that I'm going to enlist her help!
Sharon... what an exciting day you have planned... cleaning out the spice cabinet and fridge!
Suzette... glad to hear that your friend loved the quilt... it is nice to hear when somebody enjoys something you've worked so hard on!
Lois.. normally I would so glad that today is Friday.. but I have to work the weekend! I sure hope they catch the other guy in the bombing. I'd sure like to hear WHY they did such an awful thing in the first place.
computer time is up this morning... time to get ready for work and plan which way to drive in. Will allow myself lots of time this morning.
Wishing you all a great great day

Morning y'all. Can't stay and chat. I've been watching TV here at the office. They've got the one suspect cornered (they think) so we're glued to the TV.
I hope we can all fondle fabric today.

Good Morning to All!
that must be so scary being ordered not to leave your house! This world has gone "nuts" here in the US and abroad. I am praying for those in Boston and also TX. Terrible what is going on.
Marilynsgrammy.....Gee, I can remember having slumber parties they were so much fun and you are so sweet to offer to drive the some of the girls to the skating part of the party. Hope all goes well.
Veld....my heart & prayers go out to your brother & family. It is so hard on a person to be a long term caregiver and it is hard for the person needing the care I do hope they can keep your sil comfortable.
Marq....that was a beautiful picture! I realize you are probably tired of the snow but I can't think of anything more beautiful than undisturbed snow love it!
Have a great day everyone. I am going to try and sew today havn't done of that all week. Also need to find time to work on my computer.
Prayers going up for those in need.

Re: Friday 19 April
Good morning! This is a quick check in—I’m running behind today. I did housework (floors & laundry) before coming to see my friends… Oops! I know that should not be my priority order…
The situation in Boston is horrible! It’s unbelievable what sorrow and havoc (hopefully just) two people could create!!! I hope the second one is captured soon!
The explosion in Texas was terrible! I’ve always had a fear of grain elevators for that reason.
For those of you who asked… the Gammill is wonderful!!! I’ve only sewed on it the one afternoon, but I have the FEVER!!! I’ve been watching some Heidi Kassand visits on Fons & Porter that I had on tape and have picked up information and tips. I have also been looking online and have ordered some books. I will be armed with information in any case!!! I also have a pile of scratch paper from DH’s meetings (one good side), and I have been paper and pencil practicing… Who-hoo!!! When Debbie’s and my schedules mesh again, I will be READY!!!
MaryQ—that’s TOO MUCH snow this late!!! At least it should be gone soon! I hate it when it stays for weeks/months and goes from white to gray to black… Be safe out there!!!
Carolyn—that’s too close for comfort for your DD! So glad she is staying in!!! I agree with MaryQ, “Tanks in OUR streets—what happened to the U.S.?”
Chrissy—wonderful you are hearing from Mo!!!
Velda—my heart is with you…
Traci—congratulations on your new office!!!
MaryZ—our one day of spring morphed back to winter! We can have frost/freezing tonight again! So much for morels… Did you have to keep quiet on the way home, or did you say “I told you how to do it!!!” It’s o.k.—we will share your glee with you!!! Love it!!!
I need to fix brunch… The TV is on, and it looks like a third world country, not OUR USA!!! I do hope this doesn’t traumatize our children. When I grew up, we had bomb drills, and there was always that in the back of our minds… Kids should grow up free from fear!

Well, I am doing something I shouldn't be. Watching all that is going on in Boston. You get glued to the TV and just can't break away from it. They just showed the uncle who lives not to far away from here. Goodness. I have ot gotten out to my studio yet. I started a loaf of bread and fixed lunch for hubby and I. Maybe this afternoon. We are supposed to get a bad storm this afternoon but I will have time to get out there and get some cutting and sewing done. Have a great afternoon.

Good afternoon from rainy, overcast, temps starting to go down, SW. Pa.....It was so warm and sunny yesterday but today is kind of yucky........
Like most of the country, we've been glued to the TV hoping for an end to this terrible tragedy......Too much bad stuff going on these days.....
Chriss, Kathy is with the postal service and loving every minute....She sent me a text last night and said the area is unbelievable.....And my heavens your son is sure handsome and you know he's just the right age for 1 of our girls...He can have either the teacher or the professional/Irish dancer...In fact the dancer will be coming out that way for a visit over July 4th.....Just a little push doesn't hurt, does it??? And the card party was fun, tiring but fun....I think we might be going to another next week.....
Chickie, I can imagine how excited you must be to get your hands on a Gammill....Most of us can only dream.....
It's time for me to scoot.....You all have a great day......

The drama continues on TV...
Irish--so good to hear from you!!! You're right, Chriss's son is handsome!!! Wish he were closer--he'd be perfect for our DGD who is at Kansas State (Kansas's Aggie U). The Gammill is ancient! It belonged to my neighbor/DSIL's late mother and was in a garage for the last 10+ years. I thought it was probably around 30 years old, and I was close. The service man at Gammill said it was about 28 years old--he had come to work when they were making that machine. He got it running well--replaced some obsolete parts... we were so glad! I want to learn to quilt before we upgrade to something more expensive!
Chriss--your DS is a hunk! Know you are so proud of him!!! Will he be living close? Where is his teaching position from you? He will be an asset to the ag program!!!
I'm going to see if I can quilt this afternoon on the Gammill. If not, I'll be in my sewing room or hunting mushrooms... I have little hope of the mushrooms--too chilly, but hope springs eternal!
