Quilts for Merryman House (Shelter in Paducah, KY for abused women)

Post by gmaann » Sun Feb 03, 2013 5:10 am

Dear Forum Friends,

I'm hoping El's Angels (that's ALL of us) will donate quilts for the women and children at the Merryman House in Paducah, KY. Merryman House is a shelter for abused women and their children. The City of Paducah rolls out the red carpet for quilters each April, and this is one way we can say "Thank you!". The ladies of the forum - and Gavin, the young grandson of Bland50! - have been generous for the past 6 years in making quilts for these women and their children. Sadly, the need is always there!

Quilts can be any size for a woman or a child. We encourage QIAD patterns, but any pattern is welcome and appreciated. If we have enough quilts of QIAD patterns, we will have a Show & Tell for Eleanor before the quilts are delivered. Eleanor always enjoys seeing what we do with her patterns!

Quilts can be sent to me to be taken to Paducah, or sent to the QIAD store in Paducah and they will hold them until the Quilt Show. Please PM me if you want my address.

Thank you so much!
Ann/gmaann

Here are two I will be sending to you Ann.

The smaller one is all flannel, front and backing, and probably will be nice for a toddler. A pre-teen or teenager will like the "surfing" cat quilt I think. :)

Oh, THANK YOU, Linda!! They are both darling!! I know they will be much appreciated! The surfing cat has a great Hawaiian look to it! Can't wait to see them both in person. Do you still have my address?
