yardage requirements for the Treasure Chest FB Block Party

I am sending my mother-in-love the facebook block party Treasure Chest patterns. She wondered about the yardage requirement (4 1/4 yards) for the background and first border. That seemed like a lot of material to her. Is that the correct amount? She is waiting to buy her fabric until she knows for sure. Thank you.

That is the correct amount. The quilt is 82" x 100" so that may be why she thinks it's a lot. Also the flying geese will use quite a bit.I am sure she will love it when it is all done..Sandy
