scant quarter inch

Post by kho » Thu Mar 08, 2012 5:57 pm

I was using my quarter foot on my machine. I needed a scant seam. I put the thingy just on the inside edge of the line not on the line. I think it worked. Has anyone else tried this??

Sandy, if you can move your needle just move it a click or two over... my machine has 1/4 inch set at 5.3 but I move it two clicks to 5.8 and for me that's just inside a quarter inch...try a test run and measure it... as for feet... the foot I use has two "toes" each is a quarter inch wide.. so I sometimes use the center of a toe for a scant quarter inch.

I have found that if I move my needle over to just inside the quarter inch - it works beautifully. I use a quarter inch foot with a blade on the side of the foot and move my needle over one click - I can only move it that far as the hole for the needle in the foot is right there. It makes no wiggle room for any more movement.

I can move my needle but not if the quarter inch foot is on the machine. I wanted to see if I could do it and use the same foot and it seemed to work for me.
