Valerie - You are so sweeeeeeet to post a picture of all the scout cookies you will finish in the next few days - I LOVE IT!!
We still have 2 boxes of Thin Mints yet to finish. They are lasting longer because DH still isn't feeling like himself.

Teresa - LOL, I guess sometimes it pays to go back and read what I wrote.
Neon - I don't think that block is so bad. Each seam in a block gives you the chance of a smaller block. That is why you do a "scant" 1/4 in seam which means a few threads less than 1/4 inch. Mine often don't end up 12 1/2 inches either but often 1/8 inch off. My colors are similar to yours but I didn't put the brown in (which is actually Maroon in the pattern). I changed that to a brighter pink and used brighter greens and purples.
I am thinking if you really don't want to use that block, it would make a great front of a tote bag.
I forgot to mention (hence the edit) your points look really good!

Here is Crown of Thorns number 1. While time consuming not really too bad. Measured, cut and sewn carefully. Squared up after each section. Lo and behold it measures 12.5 inch!

Sonya and Valerie - WOW - WOW and more WOW! Great Blocks!!!!
FABulous choices of fabrics and those POINTS are AWESOME! I am so so glad you gave it another try. These are definitely going to find a great home!
Valerie - Thanks for being such a great cheerleader and for sharing your tips in making a successful block.
The CoT looks like a hard block but if you do it in steps it is doable and you both proved that
Thank you both for being such great inspirationers for the rest of us to keep going.
Mel - Sure hope you give it a go at it!! I know you can do it!!!
Mary - WONDERFUL Springy Delights!

Neon I think those are both fine blocks. Take a little break from the COH and then try again. This is about fun and learning. You should be proud of yourself for not giving up.

My second COT is done. Same fabrics as the first so won't bother with pic. Going to audition fabrics for Fool's Square.
