Hurray, Redtop! Half Log Cabin ahoy! And don't worry about hand quilting instead of house cleaning. The hand quilting completes something, whereas the house cleaning has to be redone every few days (or weeks) anyway.
At the beginning of the year, my goal was to do a different room in the house each month. Now my only room I am worried about is my sewing room. I want to have a better way of seeing all the fabric I have, a better way of orgainzing my works in progress, and I haven't decided yet id I want my "new" treadle in the livingroom or the sewing room.

Re: Resolution/UFO Club
1. Finish one quilt top per month from UFO bin. - Purchased fabric to finish my teacup UFO quilt, now I just need to find the pattern.
2. work in the garden for 2 hours at least 3 days a week. - Garden is looking great and I have been harvesting jalapenos, cucumbers and fresh tomatoes for the last couple of weeks. The herbs are over flowing in their pots and using them to make some delicious meals. Still waiting to see if I have any luck with the squash and the okra, peaches are almost ripe so those should be ready to harvest in the next week or so.
3. clean out closets and gather items for September yard sale or donation. (personal closet, linen closet, sewing room closet, upstairs hall closet, downstairs closet). - Got a couple of large bins of items set aside for the yard sale and have made a couple of trips to drop off donations. Sewing room is looking great but still have a bit more to do and then move on to other closets.
4. do a weekly menu plan. - Still working on this one
5. quilt at least 2 charity quilts every week. (Quilt tops are made by my local quilt group and I just quilt them on my HQ 16). - Doing great on this one.
6. work on learning to use embroidery machine. - I downloaded some embroidery programs and will be trying them out this week.
7. make a new quilt for my bed. - Still haven't chosen a pattern for this one.
8. work on losing at 1 pound per week. - Lost 5 lbs and I think if I get into my menu planning habit it will all work better.

Pam, I agree---Quilting is much more useful than housework...
The pastel string star is quilted, but I can't face the binding. Due to a storm, our electricity has been out since Friday late evening. The binding can wait until the air conditioner is back up and running. It was 88.6 degrees in our house yesterday evening...
