Re: Resolution/UFO Club
Jules, looks like you like to do a lot of BOMs. Great going on the weight loss! It takes a lot of time and effort but you're heading in the right direction! 4 are done and several are being close to finished tops. Wonderful!

Re: Resolution/UFO Club
I have been away from QIAD for a long time and am wanting to reconnect with other quilters outside my own local friends. I love the idea of a Resolution/UFO Club, sounds like a great way to accomplishing what many times gets forgotten. I see that you can sign up at any time during the year but not sure how to set up goals.
Are goals posted for what you want to accomplish each month? Hope someone can help me with this.
Guess I should have read the whole post. Post a yearly list and then check off as accomplished, I think that is right.
1. Finish one quilt top per month from UFO bin.
2. work in the garden for 2 hours at least 3 days a week.
3. clean out closets and gather items for September yard sale or donation. (personal closet, linen closet, sewing room closet, upstairs hall closet, downstairs closet)
4. do a weekly menu plan
5. quilt at least 2 charity quilts every week. (Quilt tops are made by my local quilt group and I just quilt them on my HQ 16)
6. work on learning to use embroidery machine
7. make a new quilt for my bed.
8. work on losing at 1 pound per week.

Re: Resolution/UFO Club
Welcome SewSew! It has been awhile! I pop in and out of here too.
I have been working on a quilt that started out as a mystery block of the month. The project got dropped before the quilt was finished. I have it all layed out on my spare bed and have been trying to fill in blocks as I go. Takes a lot of thinking on my part and that's the hard part! LOL! This wasn't a ufo on my list here but it's what called out to me to finish first! Just as long as I'm working on the ufo's I'm good! Right?

Re: Resolution/UFO Club
Abigail, thanks for the welcome.
I didn't want to name any particular UFOs because I knew that I probably would end up picking something else. I think as long as you are getting something finished you are definitely ahead.
1. Finish one quilt top per month from UFO bin.
2. work in the garden for 2 hours at least 3 days a week.
I bought a 7.5 foot trellis for my garden. It was so funny trying to get it home in my little car. I have a hatchback so we were able to slide it in through the back over our heads all the way to the front sun visors.LOL It was still sticking out the back a couple of inches so I had to tie down the hatch so we could get it home. I got it all set up this afternoon and now my lemon cucumbers can have something to climb up.

#1.I want to start and finish the civil war quilt. It's a gift for a friend who is in a very rough spot that is gettin worse..Waiting on this one. I'll know when it's time to do it.

#3. Finish my fall quilt. It's been in the making for several years.I have looked at it...oh dear...no wonder it is in the box.
#4. Finish the 2 quilt tops so they can be quilted for Christmas gifts next year. They are at my LA ready to be quilted!! Both are home and ready for the binding.
#5.I have reorganized the majority of my fabric. It is now grouped with colors that will work together, or projects for the kids, and projects for the grands, and one project the grand can help with. I put the "what was I thinking?' fabric in the bottom of one tub. I threw away a lot of scraps..surprised everyone here too..
#6.I made 2 donation quilts and one had matching pillowcases. This after coming home from Paducah. DONE
#7-finish the binding on my snowman wall hanging-DONE
#8-My table runner that has been finished since El taught the day and night class is now ready for binding.
#9-Working on quilt blocks for a friend with cancer. In one week I have made 11 of them and am looking at 1 more!!
#10-Autograph blocks-mailed..DONE
#Christmas block swap...started..
I have been cleaning windows. Most of them are DONE.
Patched my comforter on the bed. The stuffing is no longer coming out that corner.I won't tell you how long I ignored it..redfaced.
Some plants are in and the house plants are out and transplanted.
Vitamins every day-thank you corning!! Doing good on this one
I have been hand quilting the quilt in the frame and a little more and I can roll it!! I have rolled it twice!!

Re: Resolution/UFO Club
How is everyone doing on their resolution list? So far #2, #5 and #8 on my list are checked off for this week. I plan on working on #4 and #1(pick a UFO to work on)today.
1. Finish one quilt top per month from UFO bin.
2. work in the garden for 2 hours at least 3 days a week.
I got my gardening in for the week but still have so much to get done. We had such a mild Spring the grass seed I sowed to cover the bare back yard is filling in very nicely. The temp today will hit the low 90's so everything will need a good watering this morning.
3. clean out closets and gather items for September yard sale or donation. (personal closet, linen closet, sewing room closet, upstairs hall closet, downstairs closet)
4. do a weekly menu plan
5. quilt at least 2 charity quilts every week. (Quilt tops are made by my local quilt group and I just quilt them on my HQ 16)
I got my two charity quilts finished for this week.
6. work on learning to use embroidery machine
7. make a new quilt for my bed.
8. work on losing at 1 pound per week.
My weight loss is the hardest thing I have to work on but am trying the weight watchers on-line and we will see how that works for me.

Re: Resolution/UFO Club
1. finish the shower. DONE
2. get labels on Ice Storm for our guild's quilt show. DONE
3. Finish quilt show challenge. DONE
4. Finish Civil War quilt for quilt show. DONE
5. Finish Lover's knot mini for quilt show. Didn't get in the show.
6. Maybe finish Summer Memories for quilt show. Not in the show.
2-6 need to be completed to turn in on May 24th, I think.
Anybody who is going to be in western NY the first weekend in June, IM me for directions to the show! I may be a little partial, but there is some awesome awesome talent in my guild. I love wandering around our shows and seeing so many creative ideas and ways to improve my skills. AND this year we are holding it in a winery!
