Ok, I have been reading about the progress you all have been making on your ufo's and decided that the only way I'll get any done is to challenge myself. So I went through my list of ufo's that I need to finish and by that I mean geting the top together.

1. autograph star (swap)top.... This one is DONE!

2. birthday block exchange blocks in fall colors

3. row by row Christmas sampler (swap)

4. small pastel patches (swap) All the blocks are together now. need to set them in rows now.

5. Fall maple leaves (swap)

6. red/white/blue bow ties (swap)

7. 9 1/2 inch batik maple leaf (swap)

8. Learn how to use my janome 12000.

If I can get some of these swaps done then maybe I can start on some of the kits I have!

I haven't gotten much done on sewing the last few days. I have all the pieces cut out for the small pastel patches.

Well shame on me!!! Just couldn't help myself. After finishing my butterfly, I was still wanting to quilt. Soooo I found myself putting another "old" top in the frame and that's what I've been working on. I now have number 8 on my list. I usually don't quilt this time of year since we are busy with vegetable and flower gardens. Has anyone ever quilting in Baptist Fans?? I've wanted to try this for years and this is what I have doing on this quilt--I LOVE IT !!

Welcome Abbigail. Good luck getting more sewing completed. This is a great place to get encouragement. Your work is always beautiful.

I'm getting there. All the scraping and painting are done. The floors look pretty good. Everything but the shower is ready. My renter wants back in, and is moving in tomorrow. The shower puzzle pieces are drawn, and I need to figure out how to cut the fiber glass panels. My two ideas did not work, so it's time to ask for help.

Welcome, Abbigail. I have a bunch of swaps to put together, too.

Redtop, I'm itching to do some gardening. We wait untill mid may around here, although some were tempted this march. (Glad I did't April has had freeze after freeze and a little snow.)

Hello everyone! I didn't get any sewing done over the weekend. My son and his family spent Friday through Sunday evening with me so I enjoyed them instead! But that was a good swap! Dr. appoinment in a little while then hopefully back to sewing! I edited my list to add "learn my embrodiery machine" because I need to get started on it. Have a good day everyone!

Hi Everyone,
I am very proud of myself. I visited a new, small area quilt shop this morning and DIDN'T BUY ANY FABRIC....It was hard, she had lots of 1930's repos--my favorite. I am trying to sew up ALL my fabrics I have stored away. It would be nice to use ALL my scraps and at least get most of my old planned projects completed--Oh not enough time.

Pam, it has been a bit warmer here, but when my DH gets a sniff of a little sunshine he HAS to plant root crops. He always takes a chance of a few beans and corn seed. Most years we have some early crops, sometimes they get frosted on. It's worth it---we're farmers at heart.

Happy Quilting Redtop

Good going Tess! It's hard not to buy pretty fabrics when you see them. I'm like you though. I want to finish some of my UFO's and then use of some of my stash.

I did pratice some on my embroidery machine today. I may have to add a project on my list so I can keep working on learning it

I have all the pieces cut out now for the pastel blocks.

I just can't seem to stay in the sewing room for some reason. I only have blocks sewn for 4 of the rows. I don't know if it's the fact that I'm trying to get some of the ufo's done and don't want to see on them or because I want to start something new? I also have to mow today so I know I won't get much done.

OK. I have to update (totally revise) my resolution list.

1. finish the shower. (tomorrow)
2. get labels on Ice Storm for our guild's quilt show.
3. Finish quilt show challenge.
4. Finish Civil War quilt for quilt show.
5. Finish Lover's knot mini for quilt show.
6. Maybe finish Summer Memories for quilt show.

2-6 need to be completed to turn in on May 24th, I think.

Anybody who is going to be in western NY the first weekend in June, IM me for directions to the show! I may be a little partial, but there is some awesome awesome talent in my guild. I love wnadering around our shows and seeing so many creative ideas and ways to improve my skills. AND this year we are holding it in a winery!
