another question about feed dogs

Post by ollie1shoe » Tue Dec 14, 2010 4:53 pm

does it matter what position your needle is when you lower the feed dog? my babylock espiree that i have had since about 2003 has always been very hard to lower are raise the feed dog lever it is sorta under the front of machine with a lever that barely sticks out and it is really realy hard to move and i just wonder if the needle needs to be in a certain postion for this to be easier to move the lever it sure makes it hard on these arthritus joints struggling with this problem

Just tried both positions - needle up or needle doesn't matter to my Pfaff - but each machine could have it's own preferences -

maybe you could see if some kind of a tool could hook over the lever and that may aid your hands in moving it.

Good luck -
Jana
