Re: MapleLeaf Swap - Marcy?
Theresa, I don't usually wash either. I like to do it after I am all done so the hot water shrinks up all my mistakes (LOL) Please let me know if we are to wash first as my fabric should be here in the next couple of days and if I have to wash it first I need to get it done. Otherwise, it goes right down to the sewing room to be cut.

Well..... Mary has nine done and Tina does wash so i am thinking with the nine done already then the answer would be WASH FIRST otherwise you will have a mess when you go to wash it the first time.
Wash and not wash definitely do not mix.
Hope this is OK with all

Hi all,
Can't wait to get started on mine this weekend. I have washed all my batiks....they came out great. I did use the "color grabber" sheets...interesting to see what color those came out as!
Have a great day.

I almost started cutting yesterday, but am safe. Will be happy to wash first. Batiks are so pretty.

OOOHHHH, I am so excited. My boss just gave me tomorrow off because we were supposed to be closed last Friday but I ended up working so he said why don't you take tomorrow off in place of last Friday? Of course I said, well, alright. So, I have a 4-day weekend so I really, really hope my fabric comes today so I can wash tonight and sew, sew, sew this weekend.

Jo, how wonderful! I'm soooooo happy for you, what a thoughtful boss. My boss was like that, I just loved her. She would alwayd go out of her way to show appreciation and whenever she needed anything I always gave my 200%, I really liked working there. It sure made me love my job! I was a walking advertisement

I'm hoping I get to too, I'm under the weather at the moment but hope I feel better to get things done.

Re: MapleLeaf Swap - Marcy?
so, I have a question, when I have washed batiks in the past, they have wrinkled horribly and I have had to steam and all sorts of stuff that gets the wrinkles out but also distorts the fabric. How do you all wash your batiks to avoid this. I am planning on starting on mine this weekend.
