Just finished "Two by Two" by Nicholas Sparks - tear jerker, especially at the end...
And the other one was "The Whistler" by John Grisham - excellent

Highly recommend both these books......

I can't believe I haven't posted for quite awhile...But, here are the latest books I've read and enjoyed....
MaryZ recommended books by Anne George and I really did enjoy the 2 I had read...."Murder Runs in the Family", "Murder Gets a Life" and I know there are a bunch still on the list at the Library....Also read 2 by Maeve Binchy, "Tara Road" and "The Copper Beech" and both were very good....
"Whispers" by Lisa Jackson was very good as was
"The Surgeon" by Tess Gerritsen......

Happy Reading!

Good to see you, Irish! I had missed you. I also love Anne George's Southern Sisters books! Such a hoot. I think there are 8 in that series. Sadly, Anne George has passed away.

Has anyone else signed up for Book Bub? Lots of low cost and some free books for your Kindle. Some good, some not so good. But occasionally I find an author I like that I didn't know before and can get more - often from the library. Also re-reading many of the Rex Stout Nero Wolfe books. Always a treat.

Another fun author is Ann B Ross and her Miss Julia books. Light reading, but enjoyable to me.

Always enjoy Jan Karon and Jennifer Chiaverini. Have liked several of Anita Shreve's books, and not liked a couple others!

Happy reading, all!

I am so far behind on my reading. For some reason just got behind. I am still reading Killing Patton by Bill O'Reilly. it is good but I need to get back to it. I have so many books I have purchased that I want to read. I am still "old fashioned" I like to hold a real book in my hands while I read.

Well, the Dept. of Education did get a new person. She is terrible. As a retired educator, I believe the DOE, needs to be abolished and let the states run the educational system-----meaning those in the know and in the trenches--educators.
I am fortunate to be near Dollar Tree stores and when I am there, always head to the books. If you are short like me, hard to reach top ones--HA. The are only $1.00.
Enjoy reading about our presidents and have gotten some of them from there and most of the Bill O'Reilly books. Hope he gets back on TV.

Love to read. Am a Reading Specialist. Have not read much since the weeks following my flu shot, Oct. 5th. Just got 2 new bookcases. People moving from bldg. gave to me free. Still need another one. HA

Hugs,

Helen

Have just started 'OUR SUPREME TASK;ed HOW WINSTON CHURCHILL'S IRON CURTAIN SPEECH DEFIND THE COLD WAR ALLIANCE.' Now, I know for most of you, perhaps, would not like this book, however, these are my favorite. Want to get the newer book about Churchill.

I just finished the miracle morning for entrepreneurs. While a good theory, it doesn't take into account that our bodies need more than 6 hours of sleep to preform at its highest capacity. Especially those of us with infants and children who don't sleep through the night, or people suffering from massive amounts of stress or that people who do medium to intense workouts need extra sleep so our bodies can recover. For many waking up at 5am just isn't possible. Waking up and going through the steps suggested in the book however are a good idea but having to do so at 5am isn't necessary.

Now I am reading loveable by Kelley Flanagan and it is a good book so far. I am only on chapter 2 but so far I've noticed a lot of "Oh yeah that's me" moments. I might be a little biased considering the author of the book just did a conference call with my business building success and accountability team and he was a great speaker. Very motivational for not only me but my daughters and my husband as well.
