I read two books today, short and in the "children" section.

Alida's Song and The Quilt both by Gary Paulson. I love them both. Brought back a lot of memories for me.(having grew up on a farm out in the middle of nowhere) I would give them a 5 star rating.

I just finished a couple books that you might be interested in....The 1st 3 are an Amish series...Sisters of Holmes County, written by Wanda E. Brunstetter....The 1st was "A Sister's Hope", then "A Sister's Test" and then "A Sister's Secret"....I have always enjoyed reading this type of book, especially with no foul language...Very good.....
Now this last book is the opposite of the Amish books..."The Bookie's Daughter" a true story written by Heather Abraham...This is about the illegal happenings that took place in Jeannette, Pa., about 15 minutes from where I live...In fact, Heather's father owned a store, Big Al's Bargains and Jim and I shopped there many times...He wrote numbers, sold illegal fireworks, ran poker games in the back room, you name it, he did it and his 2 daughters helped until they got old enough to leave....My 1 DDIL came from Jeannette and was a good friend of the author, even worked in the store at one time...This DDIL's father was also a gambler....When she and Kevin were getting married, he said, that was one way to get her out of Jeannette, lol.....The book is quite interesting, but it does have a lot of nasty language and violence...Now I need to find a more mellow book to read.....

I just started reading Debbie Macomber's Rose Habor. It still in Cedar Cove, but with new characters. Debbie did say that sometimes the old characters would reappear. She stop the Cedar Cove because there was too many characters and she was getting confused. I think I got confused after book 5 or 6. I was glad that she put information about the characters in the front of the book.
Rose Harbor is about a lady who lose her Husband within the first year of marriage. She leaves her city life to move to Cedar Cove and purchases a B & B. The characters that are in this first story are guests that come to the B & B. One is a man that is trying to help his Stepfather who doesn't like me and the other is a woman that is in town for Brother's wedding. She moved away from Cedar Cove to Florida to get rid of her past.

I, also just finished reading "The Inn at Rose Harbor" and thought is was enjoyable.....It is a pleasure to be able to read a book and not have to skip over the 4 letter words....I tried to get the Cedar Cove series but our Library didn't have many...I did get 1225 Christmas Tree Lane (which I discovered I had already read) and now I'm reading Cedar Cove Christmas....They are delightful, quick books......

I just discovered Steve Berry - The King's Deception. It's basically modern day with intrigue and history as it's basis. If you liked the movie "National treasure" this should appeal to you.

I'm going to have to check out the rest of his books!

Just finished Paths of Glory by Jeffrey Archer. It's based on the true story of the first attempts to reach the summit of Mt. Everest. Very good and very interesting.
