I've been reading a lot the past month, too. IRISH, I do enjoy James Patterson's women's murder club series. I listen to them in audio form while I sew.

We have an author who is a member of our RV Rally group. Her name is Bernadette Pajer and she lives in Seattle. She writes an historical mystery series set about 1901. The main character is a professor of electrical engineering at U of WA. It's well-written, has some humor, and I like the series because 2 of my 3 kids went to U of WA. I can easily picture the setting.

Here's a coupe more I just finished.....

"Coming up Roses" by Catherine Anderson
"Ideal Wife" by Mary Balog.......Both these were quick, beachy type reading.....

"Street Lawyer" by John Grisham....Very good....About a lawyer who left a very high paying job to help on the street....And I don't know how I've never read this...It's been out for some time.....

Here's another I just finished but I wouldn't really recommend it.....
"Son of Stone" by Stuart Woods- It's a Barrington series, about the son of Stone Barrington that he really didn't know about....A waste of time but once I started I had hoped it would get better and finished it......Not one of his best, let me tell you.......

Here's another to add to the list....."Silken Prey" by John Sandford.....It was good, not one of the best but it kept me interested.......Now I'm off to the Library, take this one back and pick up the new Patterson book, they're holding for me....
I've been going through the list of books in the Sunday paper, pick out a few and then go on line and reserve them at my local Library....What could be easier.......
And then of course, in the lobby of the Library are racks and racks of used paper backs, free for the reading and I always come home with a bag full.....
Reading and quilting, no time for uglies......

I am reading American Assassin (spy novel) by Vince Flynn and A Blaze of Glory (Battle of Shiloh) by Jeff Shaara. They are two of my favorite authors.
Linda - I read QB VII by Leon Uris many years ago. He is one of my favorite authors also. Have you read Exodus by him? It is even better.

Hi Sherry, yes I read Exodus and several of Leon Uris' books. I love his writing style and subject matter. I will check out your other authors. Have you read any of Sandra Dallas' books? She is wonderful! I am currently reading "True Sisters" and can hardly put it down. It is the story of Mormons walking and pulling hand carts from Iowa to Salt Lake in the 1800's. I'm not Mormon but the story is really good! Also loved her book "The Diary of Mattie Spenser".

JOANNE - I love Diane Mott Davidson. and Joanne Fluke, too, which is similiar. also with recipes. I've even made some of those recipes!

IRISH - I like Patterson's Women's Murder Club books, too. Though I haven't read all of them yet. I'm working on them!

I also enjoy Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series. So I bought her new book, The Heist, with Lee Goldberg. But I was sadly disappointed. So much so that I gave it up about 100 pages into it. They were still setting up the plot! Nothing had really happened in all those pages. and it wasn't as funny as Evanovich usually is. And there was a lot of globe-trotting to Greece, then Germany, then Missouri that I found difficult to follow. It seemed a very disjointed story - the part that I read, anyway. Maybe someone else would enjoy it. I did not.
