Right now I am ready "Cleaning House" A Mom's 12 month Experiment by Kay Wills Wyma. I'm a grandmother and my girls are raised but my youngest daughter read this so thought I would too. GREAT SO FAR! it should be a book required by anyone who is raising children in today's world! Can't wait to finish it.

I just finished reading "The Perfect Summer" by Luanne Rice.....I'm not sure I'd recommend it but it was an OK read....The story was way too long and I never did find out why it was a perfect summer, lol.....
Oh well, onto something else.......

I have started reading Janet Evanovich's books this summer, am now reading Fearless Fourteen. I find myself laughing in almost every book. Stephanie's family & friends are great. It took me many years to get started, but glad I did. I enjoy listening to books as I drive & do my knitting, crocheting & many of my sewing projects. I will have to have my kindle buried with me to finish all the free books I have downloaded. Thanks for starting this discussion.

I am in the middle of reading A Blaze Of Glory by Jeff Shaara. It is the story of the Battle of Shiloh in the Civil War. Jeff Shaara is a very good author. I met him at Gettysburg in 2008.

Based on Irishgram's recommendation, I have checked out Phillip Margolin at the library. Haven't found the one she recommended, but have read The Undertaker's Wife, and The Associate. I'll look for more.
Also just finished Red Mist by Patricia Cornwell. I enjoyed her early books, but have had trouble following a couple of her later ones. However, I followed this one just fine.
I read here often for good suggestions. Thanks to all who comment!

I just finished Mary Daheim's "V is for Vengence" in her Alpine series. This is an alphabet series that began with "A is for Advocate". It's set in the now-gone town of Alpine, WA. The author's parents lived there for a time but the town was abandoned in the 1920's. She has brought it back to life and peopled it with lots of interesting characters, adding new ones with each new book. The Advocate is the weekly newspaper which is owned and published by the main character, Emma Lord. It's a mystery series I've enjoyed for years, and we're coming up on X-Y-&-Z. I'm dreading the end of this series and hope she finds a way to keep it going. Maybe "Aa . . . " and we can start again!
Mary Daheim, a Seattle native, also writes a series of hysterically funny mysteries featuring a 60's-something B&B owner, Judith, and her zany sidekick, Renie. These characters are modeled after her cousin, Judith, and herself. I've met Ms Daheim and the real-life Judith. Both are wonderfully funny women. I have every one of the books in both series and enjoy them over and over again.

I am reading "Being Dead Is No Excuse" The official Southern Ladies Guide to Hosting the Perfect Funeral by Metcalfe & Hays. It is so funny and even includes "funeral" recipes. It is a very good read with lots of laughs!
