Re: Have you read a good book lately?
Okay, I confess...I am reading "The Old Curiousity Shop" by Charles Dickens. I got hooked...have to find out what happens to Nell! And I hope Quilp gets his cummupance in the end; he is every bit as hateful and cruel as Bill Sykes (the uber-villan from "Oliver Twist")!
I have 4 or 5 books on the table next to my favorite spot on the couch but haven't touched them since I started reading this! I love Dickens.

I just finished a couple by Mary Balogh, "The Temporary Wife" and the other was "A Promise of spring". Both were cute, easy reads......

I've been reading the Sisterhood series by Fern Michaels (thanks to Irish!). There are 20 books in the series and I started with #1. I've read 10 of them and it seems to be better if you start at the beginning. They are fast reads and so cool!

I just finished an oldie by John Grisham, "The Testament" and of course as all of his books, it was great.....I don't know how I missed it when it 1st came out....It keeps you guessing.......
Do you ever find, after you've read a good book, there is a dissapointment with the next?

Read another John Grisham book recently - totally unlike all his 'lawyer' books - Playing for Pizza. An easy read. Loosely based on a true story.

gmaann I loved Playing for Pizza. I don't ever read Stephen King, however, I couldn't resist the 11/23/63. It's a time travel. I haven't finished it yet, but it's sort of a what would today be like if that assassination hadn't taken place.

Good Morning,
I have read just about all of Jennifer Chiaverini's Elm Creek Quilts novels. I am currently reading "Sonoma Rose" which came out in February of this year. It is my first hardback book by her! All the other novels I have read by her were in paperback!
Jennifer does a marvelous job of telling a story and weaving quilting into those stories!
Happy Quilting,
Anne
